Dr. Patrick Hsu completed my bilateral breast reconstruction after my diagnosis of breast cancer. From consultation, surgery, and several months of reconstruction procedures, he was caring and patient with my questions, always included my husband during our conversations, and provided plenty of information for me to make decisions that resulted in a positive outcome. His expertise as a surgeon is unparalleled. His knowledge of breast cancer and reconstruction outcomes is topnotch. Several years later, I trusted Dr. Hsu again when I had a neck lift and undereye procedure. Once again the results were perfect. Thank you, Dr. Hsu and your staff for your compassion and skill.
So I’m starting this review before my conclusion to give people a heads up. I confirmed my consultation in October 2020 for July 2021 because that’s how booked Dr. Hsu is. I called recently to find out how soon after the consultation I could have surgery and they told me 6-10 months after the consultation. I’m so bummed. I was looking forward to having surgery in the fall. Which means that having surgery with Dr. Hsu is approximately 2 years in the making. I'm just disappointed by the wait time. But on the brighter side of things. This clearly shows that people are seeking his skill and expertise.
Hello RS fam!! It’s been a long journey finding the “right” plastic surgeon for me. After searching for the past 2 years and waiting what felt like a lifetime (but was probably a 9 month wait) to have my consultation appt with Dr. Patrick Hsu, I’m so excited that I will finally become a #HSUDOLL in about 1 more week! I’ve been on a handful of other consults, but the service and my experience so far with Dr. Hsu and his staff at Memorial Plastic Surgery have been unmatched. First of all, I loveeee Jessica!! She answered so many of my questions and was also able to fit me in sooner due to a last minute cancellation (so ladies- ask to be put on their cancellation list! I got lucky and received a call from her to see if I wanted to move up my surgery date up - it was originally scheduled in March 2021). I also LOVEE Trudi (Dr. Hsu’s patient care coordinator). She made me feel so comfortable during my consultation. She’s so nice, very knowledgeable & to top it off, gorgeous!! I was also very impressed by how thorough Dr. Hsu was compared to the other surgeons I consulted with. He examined me and made sure I understood what my surgery would entail, what kind of results I can expect, scar/incision placement, possible risks & complications, etc. But what made me choose Dr. Hsu (even though he is on the pricier $$$ side) was how I felt confident & comfortable the entire time with him & his staff - before/during/after my consultation. I feel confident that Dr. Hsu will be able to transform and snatch my body and I will be in great hands (both during surgery and the aftercare) with him & his staff! More info about me below: - Planned Surgery: Tummy Tuck w/muscle repair, Lipo 360 + BBL - Mommy of 2 - Age: 34 - Ht: 5’4 - Wt: Currently 155 lbs. (my weight can fluctuate A LOT, any where between 120 - 160 lbs. in my adult life. My heaviest was 180 lbs. during pregnancy) I feel the most comfortable and also feel like I look the best being around 135 lbs., so I plan to lose around 20 lbs. once everything is stable after surgery. Dr. Hsu also mentioned that I would have much better results being at my ideal/lighter weight during my consultation, and I don’t disagree! (Lol) I'll post more later & include some before photos. For those of you who have gone through a TT/BBL at the same time, please let me know your "must have items" below! TIA!! Updated on 6 Jan 2021: Here’s what I’m starting off with after having 2 children (loose skin, fat, muscle separation, & stretch marks). Depending on what I’m wearing and how I’m sitting, the skin on my lower abdomen lays differently! - most likely from the liposuction I had close to 5 years ago. Dr. Hsu mentioned that my belly button is higher than avg, but I’m hoping he will still be able to give me a full tummy tuck, without a vertical scar. Even if that happens, I will still be happy having all that extra loose skin cut off, a curvier shape, and a new natural looking belly button he’s known for. Only a few days away now!! Updated on 7 Jan 2021: Love these tummy tuck results!! (Beautiful curves, low incision, and natural looking belly button) Hope Dr. Hsu can snatch & shape me like these dolls! Currently looking at how I will sleep after surgery. I don’t have a recliner - so I purchased wedge pillows, body u-shape pillow, and a bolster lower back pillow. Praying this will work and I won’t regret not getting a recliner.. Updated on 15 Jan 2021: Hi Dolls! Sorry for not updating sooner, but I made it and am now on post-op day 7. Let me start off by saying that Dr. Hsu, his staff & OR team are the best! The morning of my surgery started off rough.. I woke up feeling so nauseous from the scopolamine patch I put on the night before, which is ironically suppose to help with nausea! (I put the patch on too early). Luckily, the nurses took care of me right away with a concoction of meds once I arrived to the surgery center, and I was feeling more of my normal self before surgery - thank God. I don’t remember much after going into the OR besides getting prepped while standing up - that part was not my favorite. It was so cold, but his nurse (Kim) was so nice and made me feel comfortable. Within a blink of an eye I was in recovery and I remember someone saying the surgery was done. I was immediately relieved and so thankful when I realized I didn’t have any feeling of nausea (I hate feeling nauseous!!) The pain was well controlled and I mainly just felt sleepy and swollen/numb everywhere. The first couple of days weren’t as bad as I was anticipating. The pain was very manageable, probably due to getting exparel (which is included in the tummy tuck price)! Here’s a quick pic I took on post-op day 5 after getting a lymphatic massage at Victoria Heavenly Spa. Those massages are brutal (sometimes feels like a 10/10 for pain).. but good on the body. I highly recommend this place! I’ll update more later but I already love my new shape & results - esp my breasts & cute belly button (I decided to add on fat grafting to the breasts with my TT, lipo360, & bbl). Including a quick pic I received of my results on the table. So grateful for my experience so far - Dr. Hsu has magic hands!! Updated on 20 Jan 2021: Took a quick pic before I showered tonight. Breasts have definitely deflated some (as expected), but I’m in love with my new shape and natural looking belly button!! Also loving that it’s getting easier with each passing day. More of discomfort from the swelling than anything, no pain! Looking forward to having this drain taken out soon. I believe Dr. Hsu says it gets taken out if drainage is less than 30cc’s for 2 consecutive days, so hopefully by the end of this week! Updated on 27 Jan 2021: Post-op day 17! Had a quick office visit to get my drain removed - finally drained less than 25cc’s for 2-3 days, so I called the office and Mayra said I could come in to get it removed - yay!! It wasn’t painful at all so I don’t know why I psyched myself out.. lol. Here’s a quick mirror selfie bc I love the mirrors inside their exam rooms!! I’m still so bruised and swollen but I already LOVEEE my new body. I feel so blessed to be able to have Dr. Hsu as my surgeon. He is truly worth the wait and every cent!! Updated on 18 Apr 2021: It’s been a little over 3 months since my surgery, and I am already SO HAPPY with my results!! With every passing week, my swelling got better and that’s when my curves really started to show - I noticed a major difference around 6 weeks post-op. Unfortunately, my boobs also got smaller, but that is to be expected with fat grafting instead of implants. Dr. Hsu said about 50% of the fat usually survives in the breasts, but I actually feel like I retained more (so far). My husband loves them, especially knowing that it’s my “natural” breasts/tissue and says I look so sexy, which is the ultimate compliment, especially being together for so long, lol (we are high school sweethearts)! Since I’m past all the big hurdles in recovery, I’ve been concentrating on being healthier. Dr. Hsu recommended that I lose some weight if I really wanted to get the best results possible, and I have lost close to 20 lbs. since surgery, just by eating healthier!! Less sugar, less carbs, and not over eating. (I am not overly active or a working out/gym person and that will probably never change, lol). Dr. Hsu noticed I lost weight at my last appointment and looked pleasantly surprised!! I plan on slowly losing about 5 more lbs. to be at my ideal weight and this would also help give me some slack since my weight fluctuates easily. Now I just need to be patient about my tummy tuck scars, which will probably be over a year before it starts to really fade with my type of skin. I do hate seeing that small vertical incision, but hands down I would choose to have these scars any day (as long as I was always in the hands of Dr. Hsu), over my previous body and also over a mini-tummy tuck. I honestly never imagined, even in my wildest dreams, that I could look like this. Even as a teenager, I was never the one to have a flat stomach or any curves whatsoever. Dr. Hsu really gave me new found confidence and changed my life. I sometimes feel like I’m living in someone else’s body now, lol. I bought so many new outfits and will for sure post some pics & vids of me in them next time!!
I had surgery Friday May 29th with Dr. Patrick Hsu one of the best doctors in the states. I am days post op and I was so scared that it was going to be super painful!! Dr. Patrick Hushands are truly a blessing and his team is amazing! Love love love love I will continue to brag about him cause is the shit!!!!!!
Had surgery March 22 !! Got BBL lipo360 to fill in hip indentations! Dr. Hsu exceeded my expectations!! He is very skilled, honest , and personable! He goes above and beyond to make sure that your happy and that he is also happy with results. I am beyond happy that I chose Dr. Hsu and would highly recommend !!!!! #Hsudoll
I was completely satisfied with my surgery. Dr. Hsu did an amazing job and exceeded my expectations. I am a fitness fanatic and one thing I couldn’t get, were curves with working out so I knew that I had to gain a little weight and get a fat transfer but the only doctor that I trusted in Houston was Dr. Hsu. I’ve seen his work over the past few months and no one could change my mind. I’ve had a few clients tell me to go to some cheaper doctors but I don’t care how expensive it was going to be I knew that every penny was going to be worth it. Updated on 15 Dec 2018: Drain is out after two weeks and I love my shape Updated on 18 Dec 2018: Dr. hsu is amazing! I’m up SAST with my tiny waist! The recovery has been better every day. I’ve been taking medication for nausea and the pain and I feel like I’m ready to get back to work now. It’s been easier moving around the house and attending to my kids. I have gotten so many compliments when I go out somewhere and my confidence is so high. I am so happy with my results!
My experience was phenomenal. Dr. Patrick Hsu, is skilled and extremely talented at what he does. Depite his accomplishments, steady hands and caring. He is extremely humble. He takes the time out to listen to concerns in a calm and caring manner. I never felt rushed. His office staff echoed such care, Trudi, my island girl, Amber, Ingrid and the others will put anyone one who seek consultant or follow up after a procedure at ease. Dr. Hsu does not cut corners or make unrealistic promises. His veracity is golden. When choosing a surgeon, choose wisely. Looking good and staying alive to model the results, should be everyone’s highest priority.
This past Thursday, i had a BBL and Breast Augmentation with Dr.Hsu. I really wanted more volume and better shape for my breast that I lost from pregnancy and breastfeeding. For the BBL i wanted a super flat stomach and those fat rolls on the side in the back gone. I wanted a good shape buttocks but most importantly I wanted something proportional to my height and my age! Dr.Hsu was so precise and detailed about this procedure. First Doctor I have met that looks into a procedure long term, and takes into consideration skin tones, skin elasticity etc before just suggesting anything. One of my favorite things ever is his zero scar mentality and techniques. I am only 36 hours out and i took off garment to shower(i will post these pics now).... cannot freaking believe it tiny scars. From the beginning of consultation in February i thought doing this end of summer would be better since bruises BUT i have hardly any. Pain? Yes of course some, but breastfeeding was more painful in my opinion so this is nothing and also so worth it... I was very open with Dr Hsu i am 26 and have 2 more decades of hormones to deal with, this is why i wanted something realistic and tasteful. I will be posting my follow up pictures next week! I do have drains it so you will see them in pictures! My implants were placed throught the areola. I also had a crescent lift which is moving the areola/nipple a centimeter up. I had to small incisions by the very low bikini area, 2 one on each side of where the bra and bikini line falls on by the side of armpit, and 2 small ones at the bottom of each buttcheek those i cannot even see. Here it goes!! If anyone is thinking about doing this, just do it!! Updated on 30 Aug 2018: These are pictures of today exactly 1 week. Honestly i am obsessed. Excuse the drains hanging on this picture!! But i cannot wait for all swelling to go down!! I stopped taking pain meds 4 days after surgery! Updated on 31 Aug 2018: These are my before pictures. You will see one breast smaller than the other. On my right breast i have 240CC and the left i have 210CC. Liposuction 360. Cannot believe my profile side view my stomach now is soooooooo flat!
Dr.Hsu is truly an artist when it comes to plastic surgery. I had ruptured implants and wanted them removed and got fat transfer to breasts. He did lipo 360, mons pubis lipo and double chin lipo as well. He listened to me and actually did more than I ever thought was possible! My breast look so good.. hoping the fat lasts. He cares for his patients health and is honest with you if you need to lose a couple of extra lbs to get the best result. I listened to him and my results are amazing. I will post pics when I heal. If you are looking for someone to do your massages please go to Marlen! That is the person Dr.Hsu recommended and she is truly an angel. She has me feeling so much better after my massages and I’m so smooth! She really works on your swollen areas to get a great contoured look.
Dr. Hsu increased by confidence drastically and left me with the body I’ve always dreamt of. His team at Memorial Plastic and Crystal Surgery Center have been so good to my wife and I. Thank you so much for making this journey smooth and positive.
Hi! The number of grams that your doctor will remove depends on the density of your breast tissue. The same volume of breast tissue can weigh different amounts in different people, depending on its density. Your surgeon will also take into account how proportioned your body will be after breast reduction - this will ultimately determine how much tissue needs to be removed. I recommend that you discuss your goal openly with your plastic surgeon so that together you know how best to achieve it.
Hi! A tummy tuck will not eliminate stretch marks that are above the belly button. I suggest consulting with your doctor about the best combination of treatments for you.
Hi. In a breast augmentation, implants are placed above or below the chest muscle to improve the shape of the breasts. Meanwhile, in a breast lift, the breast tissue is tightened, meaning no additional size or fullness is added to the breast. For optimal results, many patients have a breast lift and breast augmentation performed at the same time.
Hello! The goal in a tummy tuck procedure is to achieve a smooth, flat abdominal contour. However, the result will be dependent on the patient’s anatomy (such as the amount of excess skin, degree of diastasis, and the surgeon’s surgical skill), so it is important to discuss your goals and any concerns during a consultation. I recommend that you seek a board-certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in performing tummy tuck procedures to see if your desired goals can be realistically achieved with this surgery.
Hello! From your photos, it appears that you have enough loose skin and would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck procedure. A tummy tuck may benefit you if you would like to achieve the smoothest and flattest abdominal contour possible, since it allows the repair of separated abdominal muscles and will remove excess skin. However, please know that this surgery is not a weight loss procedure. I advise my patients to be within 10-15 pounds from their goal weight prior to surgery and to commit to a healthy lifestyle and diet after surgery to achieve and maintain the best results possible. I recommend that you schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a formal evaluation to discuss the best options for you.
