Was looking for dramatic changes. Had consultation on 9/20, then after visiting several other places had 2 options in mind, so decided to visit dr oh one more time. ended up with regen as dr oh’s suggestions regarding my face seemed me closer to the result I wanted. made a deposit and hopefully he had an empty window for a surgery next day, so I booked it right away. The surgery was scheduled at 4pm but due to some delays it started at around 5 and by about 9 I was wheeled back to my recovery room. The first few hours I was super thirsty but wasn’t allowed to drink only next morningHonestly, the recovery was quite brutal with wild swelling and quite painful but now I can definitely say it totally worth it. At first I lost sensitivity in my lower jaw and chin and was so scared of nerve damage as have heard about it a lot but dr oh always calmed me down saying that it’s normal and that everything will be healed within 1 year. Well, it’s been almost a year and I do feel great, sensitivity was completely restored by month 4 or 5… Going back to my recovery… the most difficult for me was the first month. I couldn’t eat at all, my mouth barely opened and due to throat swelling swallowing was also quite an issue. Also, my nose was blocked for a good 2 weeks or even more that was also because of excessive swelling. Ugh… writing this review made me remember all my feelings that time. I guess my biggest mistake was that I went to seoul all alone and needed that psychological support more than physical. Although regen’s staff was quite attentive and supportive, I needed someone to be with me all the time. so, if you are planning to go for a surgery like this all alone, make sure you’ll able to handle that part.I left Seoul quite early, only a week after but that was enough. I could receive several laser treatments but stitches had to remove at home, no probs at all, went to the local hospital and they did everything very neat with no pain. All in all, I’m pretty satisfied with how everything came out, the face now looks just as I wanted. No regrets that I ended up with dr oh and regen. good luck everyone!
Hey everyone! I’ve seen lot of people sharing their stories and experience, so I decided maybe it’s time for me to post my review too. I noticed that most people have more than 1 surgeries at different times, so for me it was first and last experience, not because it was painful or whatever, but because I could get the result I wanted from the very beginning. The surgeon who performed my operations was from South Korea. Well, actually before choosing him I made very deep research, had a list of doctors whom I wanted to visit and did meet them all. The reason why I chose my doctor was because he was the only one who mentioned about the location of my nerves and he was the one who said that the surgery won’t give me the result I was looking for. His honesty and sincerity made me to end up with him. So, back to my issue – I had very wide midface and very noticeable asymmetry. Since my nerve line was too low I asked to fix as much as it was possible and safe. Everything went quite smooth. I don’t remember anything from the surgery itself as I was under general anesthesia. The pain after was minimal or maybe I still was under drugs. The stay in was 1 night, the next morning when I was checked by my doctor I was discharged. The first few days swelling was wild and each day became worse and worse, hopefully felt no pain. I tried to keep moving most part of a day as was told that would help to get rid of swelling faster. By the end of first week swelling started to go down, but I had to remove a part of my stitches, so after that swelling became wild again. All stitches were removed in 2 weeks and only after that swelling finally became to fade away little by little. It’s been only a month and I’m still a little swollen but I do feel great. I was told that healing and recovery can take up to 1 year, so I can’t wait to see the result. Btw, right after the surgery my chin was numb and I was afraid that had a nerve damage, but by week 3 I started to feel some tingling and now I can feel that sensitivity is restoring. p.s. if you are planning to get a surgery in South Korea in the nearest future, please keep in mind that there are some mandatory self-quarantine requirements once you enter the country. It took me 2 weeks. I couldn’t even go out to the nearest 7/11, so keep in mind that you’ll waste at least 2 weeks before you can visit any plastic surgery place. Updated on 16 Sep 2020: full three months update. I think I'm still a little swollen but already in love with the result. frankly speaking I was a bit afraid or side effects but experienced none except problems with opening my mouth and chewing. now everything is almost back to normal. feel great. Updated on 24 Nov 2020: hi! it's me again and wanted to share my almost half a year result. i'm beyond happy with the result and sooo satisfied with how everything came out! can't stop looking into the mirror lol jk. i feel so lucky! very thankful to dr.oh for giving me such gorgeous results!
I did visit several other surgeons before choosing dr oh and for that I had few reasons – I saw real people who were botched at other places, dr oh was the only doctor whose results I liked and he was also very fluent in English, so I didn’t need any help and could talk and address my concerns directly (although, an English-speaking translator was still there with me). I asked to meet the actual anesthesiologist who afterward was monitoring me during the whole surgery. In total, I had only 1 online consultation and 2 pre-op meetings (one right upon arrival and one more right before the surgery). I initially wanted to get full FC which is v-line with zygoma reduction but dr oh changed my mind, saying that just cheekbone reduction would be enough. Before putting me under anesthesia it turned out that my blood pressure was higher than normal (I assume due to the excitement I was taking through), so the anesthesiologist gave me some pills and everything was back to normal again, then they gave me a shot and I knocked out. I still remember that feeling when I just woke up, felt very cold and dizzy. They wheeled me to my recovery room where I stayed overnight. The next morning right after dr oh check up on me and said that everything went fine, they let me go back to my Airbnb. I can’t say I felt a lot of pain and discomfort, perhaps because it was only cheekbone reduction. The recovery, in general, went quite smoothly, with no complications or anything. So few weeks after once all stitches were removed (I decided to finish everything at one place) I with no troubles flew back home. It’s been almost 7 months already and feel just great and looks amazing (everyone around me keeps saying it). Honestly, I can’t understand those people who’re complaining about swelling or pain or numbness. I did have everything, but it all is gone by now. I’m very thankful for dr oh and his entire team. I traveled for my surgery all alone, so everyone was very supportive. All in all, I’m very glad! Thanks for reading! Xoxo!
My midface was too prolonged, so all ps’s that I contacted with suggested me to get two-jaw. I also wanted my chin to become shorter and only at Regen was I suggested v-line for that. The total was way higher than I expected and planned, but they were quite responsive and my consultant helped to get more discount which I personally found really nice of her. After that I had some doubts, so didn’t make any deposits or reservations, only paid $50 for scans and asked some time to make a decision. I met few other surgeons too but wasn’t fully satisfied, so I came to Regen again. It took them about a week to get prepared for my surgery, and in December last year I finally got it done (two-jaw + V-line). I didn’t realize that recovery would be that hard. I did expect that my mouth would be closed 24/7 but didn’t know how difficult it is – not to talk, not able to normally swallow (I’m not talking about moving my jaws), so yeah psychologically it was a challenge…I also remembered that at first thought that my lower jaw was pushed too backward as I had no neck line. It was my main concern but was said that it’s just swelling and that I need to wait a bit more. On week 2 when all stitches were removed they taught me how to tie rubbers myself. So basically I could go back home after that but decided to stay few more weeks (“just in case”). A week later, right before my leave, I met with Dr. Oh. He checked everything and said that my recovery is on track. He instructed to keep the wafer up to week 9, then switch only to rubbers and a week later put the wafer back in order to check the bite. Everything was fine, thank god. But swelling was still something that bothered me a lot.I was supposed to come back after 3 months but couldn’t due to corona, so I just sent them my pics and concerns (swelling). By that time, swelling wasn’t that wild yet, it I thought about it a lot. As for now, it’s been 5 months already, I’m still practicing with opening my mouth and a bit afraid to eat whatever I want (although, Dr. Oh gave his permission) and I do think that I’m still swollen. However, I can clearly see the progress and it’s quite satisfying. Updated on 28 Jul 2020: Okay it's been over 7 months now. I feel great not sure if look like a model yet way better than was before So I can eat everything and it seems like I have no problems no Satisfied no regrets. No pain no chewing complications no complains I think my doctor did a really good job so if you are reading this thank you
Regen and dr.Oh I new from 2013, when came to Korea for my first plastic surgery – two-jaw. It’s been a while since then and I really loved the result (position of my jaws) but still wanted my face to look slimmer and smaller. So, when I contacted them again for my second surgery I booked my surgery and made a deposit before flying to Seoul. I don’t think there are lot of things to tell about. Everything was like most people describe, nothing special. It’s been only 2 months and I know (from my previous experience) that recovery may take up to 1 year, so I’m not rushing and patiently wait to finally see the final result. I was thinking about full facial contouring (like zygoma reduction with v-line) but dr.Oh said that one piece v-line would be enough for me. The main difference of one piece v-line, from what I understood, was a slight chin reduction instead of t/v osteotomy, so the bone from the ear to the front jaw was cut as one piece which results in faster recovery and min opportunity of nerve damage or any other complications. Although, I’m still a bit swollen and the sensation in my chin is little by little getting back, I can already see the v-shape. So far so good! Updated on 24 Jun 2020: I can't actually believed that it's been almost 4 months...almost... So far, I feel great and the result looks amazing. As for swelling, well...I still have it but just a little bit guess few more weeks and I'll look totally fine (in the morning still look like a little hamster lol).
Hi RealSelf family, This is my first review for Dr. Myung Jung Oh at the Regen Plastic Surgery for the following procedures: Two-Jaw (Double Jaw), Zygoma, and V-Line surgery. For full disclosure purpose, this review was not incentivized by any means, such as but not limited to: surgery discounts, self or clinical promotion, etc. Like every plastic surgeon out there, I take all good and bad reviews with a grain of salt. More than often, the biggest incongruence in these reviews is patients having unrealistic expectations (between the 2 parties) and little patience for the final outcome. Two-jaw surgery is a major/serious surgery that can change one’s life and I had no intention to settle it with any surgeon other than the best. After 2 years worth of research, I knew I had to pay Dr. Oh a visit due to Regen’s distinctive reputation for their excellent service and outstanding work. Given this wasn’t my first plastic surgery experience, I went to Regen with a relatively high expectation and needless to say, I was completely blown away by the most warmful and amazing experience ever. Starting off, my lovely consultants were Alice and Suyeon; not only were they exceptionally helpful and educational from the beginning to the end, I was never pressured in getting additional procedures done and I actually felt like I was being treated as a family of their own. Despite the fact that I went to Korea all by myself, they were super responsive and caring to a degree that I’ve never once felt alone or hopeless while going through these major surgeries; like many that were expected to have impatient, negative, or unrealistic expectations/thoughts, Alice and Suyeon’s affectionate kindness and genuine actions shined bright light and have given me courageous strength to fight through all my fears and doubts. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their proper guidance and I couldn’t be more thankful for everything that they’ve done for me. Dr. Oh has been incredibly inspiring and I can’t speak highly enough of him. From my initial consultation with him, he was engaging, detail-oriented and receptive to my desires and needs. Dr. Oh is very easy to communicate with and provides dynamic comfortability in the doctor/patient relationship. I never felt that I wasn't being listened to and that my wants/outcomes were Dr. Oh’s priority. He matched all my specific requests with aesthetic and artistic precision. Not that I didn’t know this already but after meeting Dr. Oh in person, I was truly amazed by how knowledgeable and well-experienced of a surgeon he is. Despite my difficult desires, Dr. Oh was able to patiently address all of my questions; he also educated me on what’s to be expected from the surgery, such as the math behind two-jaw, v-line surgery, etc., and guided me throughout the whole experience in a gentle but informative manner. After the surgery, I was provided with the before & after CT scans and Dr. Oh kindly explained to me of all the improvements that he’s made on me from a medically safe and aesthetic perspective. In hindsight, Dr. Oh’s a trustworthy surgeon that strives for elegant balance in capturing one’s uniquely personalized beauty and delivers individualized, alluringly natural results; if time could rewind, I would’ve walked to Regen, given Dr. Oh my bank account and said: “go for it, Dr. Oh!” Last but not least, I can’t appreciate enough for the surgery aftercare that Regen was able to offer. For the longest time, I’ve always thought of myself as an independent individual when it comes to tolerating pain and enduring through hardships; however, I was definitely proven wrong during my two nights stay at Regen. While being in a constant state of pain with severe fever, immense facial discomfort and breathing difficulties, the nurses had checked on me frequently and proactively tried their best to accommodate my needs. As far as I’m aware, most special/overnight care nurses are only required to check on you at your request or per required medical needs, such as but not limited to providing necessary medications, checking blood pressure, etc. But Regen’s compassionate care and warmth had exceeded my expectations as they attentively checked on me every 30 minutes or less. Despite the language barrier and my unbearable condition, their tender spirit and selfless gesticulation had meant more than just being a figure of light at my struggling and hopeless times, it was their munificent essence and bounteous kindness that pushed me through all adversities. While some may beg to differ or argue that it’s normal to receive this kind of aftercare service in this industry, I can cordially promise you that Regen is uniquely different and no doubt the best in the Gangnam area. In retrospect, I didn’t need to ask and I knew that taking care of patients isn’t just a job to the nurses at Regen, it’s their warm devotion to hold the hands of the ones in need and their affectionate passion to guide the path of the ones in lost; while there were many times that I was too exhausted to open my eyes, I could always feel their presence near by and through no exchange of words, it’d always feel calm to me as if someone’s telling me: “I’m here for you and everything will be fine.” On a side note: For anyone that will be getting similar surgeries in the future, please manage your expectation as we’re all humans, please trust your doctor and nurses that they’ll do the best for you with the understanding of “not harming your body” and please kindly note that if certain requests can’t be fulfilled, there’s usually/always a reason to it; for example, excessive nasal suction will only make your breathing worse, drinking (water) will only be allowed after a certain set of time after your surgery, or excessive painkillers can cause severe stress to your liver, etc. In conclusion, I strongly recommend Regen to anyone who’s been considering two-jaw or v-line surgeries. After visiting and consulting with various Korean and American doctors over the course of 2 years, I’m so glad that I picked Regen in the end and I’m not afraid to say this but - I’m actually excited to wake up everyday with my beautiful, elegant natural look. I can’t thank Regen enough for blessing me with this opportunity and choosing Dr. Oh’s definitely the best decision I’ve made thus far!
I did my surgeries at Regen hospital in January this year and just wanted to share my 3 months experience. So far, swelling is still here and my lower jaw is a little numb but as far as I know, it’s totally normal and recovery may take up to 1 year. Hope it won’t take that long for me and I’ll get better soon. About Regen I found out from several forums and from some of my Korean friends. I’m a sophomore in SNU and I do know Korean but just a little bit, not even enough for a daily conversation lol. So, when I decided to contact the hospital I asked for an English-speaking stuff. I can’t say that my consultant’s English was perfect, yet good enough to understand all details. Hopefully the surgeon with whom I got my consultation spoke English very fluently and I didn’t actually need assistant’s help. To make a decision took me few days and few days after my consultation I contacted Regen again and set up my surgery. They asked to come for medical checkup a day before, the same day, I made a deposit, filled out all papers and received instructions on how to prepare for the surgery. My surgery was supposed to begin by 11am but due to some delays in doctor’s schedule, it started 2 hrs later huh. By the moment someone was waking me up everything was finished. A voice kept asking me to open my eyes which was really difficult to do. I don’t really know how long did it take me, I only remember that someone also helped me to get to my recovery room and I felt really cold, so they turned on the heater. I can barely remember what was told that time and it took me some time to fully wake up from anesthesia. Few hours later the assistant came back and explain again dos and donts. She also mentioned ice pack and that I should change them myself once they get warm. Hospitalization was 1 night and it was the hardest. I was very hungry and thirsty, but swallowing was really difficult. My nose was also blocked and swollen so breathing was a problem. I had terrible head ache and throat was sore. The next morning dr Oh visited me and said that everything went smoothly, gave a prescription and said that I can leave. The surgery was on wed, so I left hospital on thu and came back for dressing and few other procedures next mon. The first few days at home were very difficult. I wanted to stay in bed most of the time, but was told to move and walk as often as can. I was supposed to stay in Seoul for another few weeks but due to some family issue had to go home a week after my operation so all stitches I removed at there, nothing unusual. Opening my mouth is still a little difficult but I try to massage my jaws and exercise them every day. Swelling was brutal only first few weeks and by around month 1 I looked less or more normal. I do contact regen even now as really afraid of the numbness but they keep telling me that everything gets better in few months and that I’d fait a bit more and be a bit more patient, so still waiting. As for the result, I know it’s not finalized, yet I think it looks quite good even though I’m still swollen. Will try to update once get better or share any news. Updated on 11 Nov 2020: Hi everyone! It's been almost 10 months since I proceeded my surgeries. I do feel great and everyone around keep saying that I look amazing (and I do think too haha). So far, now side effects or pain. I have no swelling and overall, feel like almost 100% healed.
8 years ago I already had experience with plastic surgery and although that was a simple DES with local anesthesia, I searched a lot to find a good professional for myself, so I was kind of aware how to search this time. After making quite a deep research for my second plastic surgery, I decided that Regen’s Dr.Oh would be the best option to proceed it with. Few months before I made a reservation and began to prepare for my upcoming operation. I already knew that recovery is going to be very difficult since everyone was writing how hard it was for them to open mouth or chew or even talk, so I expected few months of tortures. While I was chatting with Regen online, they said approximate price (it was around $21k before discount) and they also mentioned about $2.4k that I was supposed to pay with cash for facebow or something. So, the total with all discounts was around $17k. I remember on my first consultation day it was raining and I was about 20min late, which made me wait to meet Dr.Oh a lot, but that was my fault hehe… He started my consultation with asking general questions, like what I want or what I expect, then he took a look at my cts and xrays and said what he can suggest in my situation and showed me results of some patients similar to me. Then we moved to the procedure room for taking measurements and to be honest that wasn’t pleasant at all. He put some metal device into my ears and mouth and did something (not sure what that was…I closed my eyes because of pain) and after that he asked to come once molding is ready (it took 10 days)So, the final consultation was a day before my surgery. Dr.Oh showed me my current bite and postop one, explained what and how he’ll move. I was asked not to eat or drink anything 12hrs before my surgery. I think I was about 5hrs under anesthesia and when I woke up, everything was already finished and my teeth were tied. I automatically pulled my hands to my face, but couldn't move them as still was tied to the table, the nurse asked not to move or I could fall. Stay-in was 2 nights and they were awful…My nose and throat were blocked so breathing was very difficult, they put a tube into my nose, so I could breath somehow…I was super hungry and thirsty all the time but couldn’t open my mouth or even talk. The next morning Dr.Oh came to check up on me and I complained about pain, he said it’s normal and that everything will get better soon. On the discharge day they gave me 2 syringes to pour liquids into my mouth, as doing it with a spoon was impossible and drinking with a straw caused even more pain, since I had to work with mouth muscles. Breathing troubles lasted for about a week and that was the worst time ever! On day 8 I came back for some postop procedures (don’t remember what exactly was done, only remember that stitches were removed another week after and on that day a nurse was supposed to teach me how to tie teeth by myself, but touching my face was so painful, so asked to wait another week). I was supposed to leave Seoul 3 weeks after the surgery but the recovery was harder than I expected, so I changed my flight and stayed 2 more extra weeks. On week 3 when I was finally able to learn how to change rubbers, I started little by little to practice opening my mouth. On my last consultation with Dr.Oh before leaving he explained all surgery details, how much he cut from which side and for how many mm he moved what. He asked to keep the wafer for another month and then rubbers for 2 months and after that remove everything for a week and during that week I was supposed to come back and meet Dr.Oh so he could see the progress. After that all metal wires were removed. By month 4 I finally started to notice that swelling gradually went down and results looked more and more clear. Now I feel good and my results somewhat finalized (or maybe not…Dr.Oh said it may take up to 1-2 years). I like everything about my face now. And my only advice – to be more patient, it’s gonna hurt, it’ll be extremely difficult and uncomfortable but if you are ready go for it as it definitely worth it! Updated on 21 Jul 2020: Frankly speaking, can't believe it's been an entire year already! Time flies very fast. I feel great and look amazing. Everyone is saying that it was worth it, well I know it myself LOL. Can't explain how thankful I am to Dr.Oh, I think to me he did an amazing job. Updated on 17 Nov 2020: I think it's been a while since I made my last post here. So a year and 4 months flew really fast. Was it difficult - kind of. Was it painful - from time to time. Does it worth it - definitely yes! Just a simple advice to anyone who's going to proceed this surgery - PREPARE both mentally and physically, it's gonna rock but be patient and you'll see a result! Good luck!
This wasn’t my first plastic surgery experience. Back in February 2019 I got two-jaw with genioplasty at the same clinic with the same doctor. 6 months after I went to Seoul to meet Dr.Oh again to check with him my healing process. We did discuss facelift earlier but he suggested to wait at least 6 months. Well, time flew really fast. To be honest, facelift wasn’t the only procedure I was looking to proceed, saggy skin on my upper eyelids was the second surgery I came for. So, after making sure that healing was fine and my recovery after two-jaw was already behind Dr.Oh agreed on facelift. (btw, consultation for my eye surgery I got with Dr.Lee but changed my mind and decided that just facelift would be enough for me). This time I didn’t book my surgery as wasn’t sure about it all 100, so had to wait an entire week, to get it done since Dr.Oh’s schedule was fully booked. The preparation for the surgery was pretty much the same. A day before surgery I got medical checkup + 10hrs of fasting, no food, no water. Waking up from anesthesia was a bit easier, since I already had some experience. Stay-in this time was only 1 night. The next morning after Dr.Oh checked up on me he said that I needed irrigation and to fix drains under my ears, so they took me to the treatment room. It wasn’t painful, but quite unpleasant procedure. After everything was done I left. On day 7 I came back for drains removal and some laser treatments, but after seeing Dr.Oh (he said that I need to keep the drain on the right side for another couple of days) drain was removed only from the left. On day 13 all stitches were supposed to be removed and although my recovery was on track, I had slight bleeding on the right, so Dr.Oh suggested to proceed it at home (drain from the right side was removed). Few days after coming back home at ordinary clinic I removed all remained stitches. To be honest, it took me a while to get rid of swelling, hopefully by now I do look and feel great. Very happy with my results and very thankful to Dr.Oh. I’m glad I could finally treated myself to all procedures and it was so worth it.
I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 yrs! I had the best plastic surgeon ever! Dear Dr. Myung June Oh, if you are reading my review, I’d like to express all my gratitude! You made my dream come true! So, in November 2017 I contacted REGEN for the first time. A friend of mine got FC done their earlier and I really loved her results. They said about the approximate cost and I made a reservation. In May 2018 I came for my surgery (important to notice that few years before I had filler injections in my lower jaw area). After meeting with Dr.Oh decided to remove everything from my lower jaw as it’d give me a v-line shape as well. And the total actually became a bit higher than I expected, so they offered me some discount if I share my b&a (can’t remember for sure what was the exact amount, only can say that it was really attractive in comparison to original price). Unfortunately, Dr.Oh could remove only 80% of that foreign substance but the result is still very impressive. My main procedure was zygoma reduction. I always wanted to have smaller and neat face shape. Truly speaking, I don’t remember all the details of my rehab, as everything went so smooth. Apart from my main surgery I also decided to improve my skin condition and was advised to get stem cell injections. To be honest, I didn’t expect that’d give such a brilliant outcome! (you can see it on my b&a) So, a week after my zygoma reduction, I got my first injections with stem cells. I think I stayed in Seoul for about 2.5 weeks and right after all stitches removal I flew back home. A year after my zygoma reduction I went to Seoul again. I thought I could remove pins but Dr.Oh asked to wait few more months. Hopefully, I could get another stem cell injections and believe me or not, after every session my skin became cleaner and cleaner. So, finally in August 2019 I removed all pins and got my last stem cell procedure. The result looks amazing. I can clearly see how my face shape is improved, smaller yet looks very natural!
Hello. In the case of the chin, I normally consider jaw implants or fillers. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. Fillers are cheaper than implants and can be done without the need for surgery. I recommend this for those who want to improve their chin without surgery. If the amount of change desired is difficult with fillers, it is better to have jaw implants. Fillers you need to have applied every 6-12 months but implants are permanent. There are many type of jaw surgeries but in the case of a chin implant, inserting the implant at the tip of the jaw is not the only option. I recommend that you get a consultation to accurately see if the issue is your chin and not something else. There are instances where the issue is not the chin but a protuberant mouth and in that case the treatments would change.
If the reason you want a jaw reduction is because of your jaw muscle, you can do it with botox in addition to jaw surgery. Botox is an appropriate procedure for those who appear to have deep jaws due to excessive masticatory muscle development, or are plump in their faces. The biggest advantage of Botox is that it will get a v-line look without surgery, but if it's not a muscle or flesh problem but a bone problem, it's hard to get a dramatic effect with Botox. No amount of Botox can reduce bone itself. If the case is Jaw surgery, it is divided into various types of facial bone, degree of square jaw joint surgery, condition of facial bones, precise size of prognathism, mouth protrusion, etc., depending on surgery, and precise method of facial jaw joint surgery. In your case, I recommend you visit a hospital and consult with a specialist to see if the development of the muscles and/or the development of the bones are showing wide jaws
