Amazing Two-Jaw & V-Line Experience with Dr. Oh at Regen Plastic Surgery
elizabethsharonMay 7, 2020
Hi RealSelf family,
This is my first review for Dr. Myung Jung Oh at the Regen Plastic Surgery for the following procedures: Two-Jaw (Double Jaw), Zygoma, and V-Line surgery. For full disclosure purpose, this review was not incentivized by any means, such as but not limited to: surgery discounts, self or clinical promotion, etc.
Like every plastic surgeon out there, I take all good and bad reviews with a grain of salt. More than often, the biggest incongruence in these reviews is patients having unrealistic expectations (between the 2 parties) and little patience for the final outcome. Two-jaw surgery is a major/serious surgery that can change one’s life and I had no intention to settle it with any surgeon other than the best. After 2 years worth of research, I knew I had to pay Dr. Oh a visit due to Regen’s distinctive reputation for their excellent service and outstanding work. Given this wasn’t my first plastic surgery experience, I went to Regen with a relatively high expectation and needless to say, I was completely blown away by the most warmful and amazing experience ever.
Starting off, my lovely consultants were Alice and Suyeon; not only were they exceptionally helpful and educational from the beginning to the end, I was never pressured in getting additional procedures done and I actually felt like I was being treated as a family of their own. Despite the fact that I went to Korea all by myself, they were super responsive and caring to a degree that I’ve never once felt alone or hopeless while going through these major surgeries; like many that were expected to have impatient, negative, or unrealistic expectations/thoughts, Alice and Suyeon’s affectionate kindness and genuine actions shined bright light and have given me courageous strength to fight through all my fears and doubts. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their proper guidance and I couldn’t be more thankful for everything that they’ve done for me.
Dr. Oh has been incredibly inspiring and I can’t speak highly enough of him. From my initial consultation with him, he was engaging, detail-oriented and receptive to my desires and needs. Dr. Oh is very easy to communicate with and provides dynamic comfortability in the doctor/patient relationship. I never felt that I wasn't being listened to and that my wants/outcomes were Dr. Oh’s priority. He matched all my specific requests with aesthetic and artistic precision. Not that I didn’t know this already but after meeting Dr. Oh in person, I was truly amazed by how knowledgeable and well-experienced of a surgeon he is. Despite my difficult desires, Dr. Oh was able to patiently address all of my questions; he also educated me on what’s to be expected from the surgery, such as the math behind two-jaw, v-line surgery, etc., and guided me throughout the whole experience in a gentle but informative manner. After the surgery, I was provided with the before & after CT scans and Dr. Oh kindly explained to me of all the improvements that he’s made on me from a medically safe and aesthetic perspective. In hindsight, Dr. Oh’s a trustworthy surgeon that strives for elegant balance in capturing one’s uniquely personalized beauty and delivers individualized, alluringly natural results; if time could rewind, I would’ve walked to Regen, given Dr. Oh my bank account and said: “go for it, Dr. Oh!”
Last but not least, I can’t appreciate enough for the surgery aftercare that Regen was able to offer. For the longest time, I’ve always thought of myself as an independent individual when it comes to tolerating pain and enduring through hardships; however, I was definitely proven wrong during my two nights stay at Regen. While being in a constant state of pain with severe fever, immense facial discomfort and breathing difficulties, the nurses had checked on me frequently and proactively tried their best to accommodate my needs. As far as I’m aware, most special/overnight care nurses are only required to check on you at your request or per required medical needs, such as but not limited to providing necessary medications, checking blood pressure, etc. But Regen’s compassionate care and warmth had exceeded my expectations as they attentively checked on me every 30 minutes or less. Despite the language barrier and my unbearable condition, their tender spirit and selfless gesticulation had meant more than just being a figure of light at my struggling and hopeless times, it was their munificent essence and bounteous kindness that pushed me through all adversities. While some may beg to differ or argue that it’s normal to receive this kind of aftercare service in this industry, I can cordially promise you that Regen is uniquely different and no doubt the best in the Gangnam area. In retrospect, I didn’t need to ask and I knew that taking care of patients isn’t just a job to the nurses at Regen, it’s their warm devotion to hold the hands of the ones in need and their affectionate passion to guide the path of the ones in lost; while there were many times that I was too exhausted to open my eyes, I could always feel their presence near by and through no exchange of words, it’d always feel calm to me as if someone’s telling me: “I’m here for you and everything will be fine.”
On a side note: For anyone that will be getting similar surgeries in the future, please manage your expectation as we’re all humans, please trust your doctor and nurses that they’ll do the best for you with the understanding of “not harming your body” and please kindly note that if certain requests can’t be fulfilled, there’s usually/always a reason to it; for example, excessive nasal suction will only make your breathing worse, drinking (water) will only be allowed after a certain set of time after your surgery, or excessive painkillers can cause severe stress to your liver, etc.
In conclusion, I strongly recommend Regen to anyone who’s been considering two-jaw or v-line surgeries. After visiting and consulting with various Korean and American doctors over the course of 2 years, I’m so glad that I picked Regen in the end and I’m not afraid to say this but - I’m actually excited to wake up everyday with my beautiful, elegant natural look. I can’t thank Regen enough for blessing me with this opportunity and choosing Dr. Oh’s definitely the best decision I’ve made thus far!

I’m not an expert, but as far as I understood your results are pretty good. I also want to get a surgery with him (facial contouring). I know there have been some rumors about him lately, but I fell in love with his work after our consultation. I met few plastic surgeons and he seemed the most experienced and skilled, so I’m planning to go to Seoul for a surgery once all this situation with corona gets better. Hope you share some of your b&a too!

How can you see results from a ct scan? It’s real tissue you need to see and we have no evidence here.
How come dr oh told me you don’t do zygoma with two jaw ? That’s strange it happened here , maybe he didn’t do this surgery and the review is fake.
These aren’t rumors it’s the truth! My review the truth and so are other people who went to him
My face is botched and I have severe medical conditions I am not a rumor and it’s the total truth
If you want to preserve your face and save yourself you’d avoid him

Yes foreigners should avoid surgery at him or in Korea, because they know we're foreigners, I am sure they treat locals. better.
Show some real photos of your face.
Dr. oh is not the best surgeon to go to for two jaw surgery , he’s not even an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon.
He caused me to develop a severely narrow airway, sleep apnea, choking episodes, numbness, jaw tightness, limited jaw range of motion, crooked teeth, depression, suicidal thoughts, replacement of veneer and crown , food stuck in mouth.
He sawed off my jaw without my consent
He’s left me with facial deformity with a concave mouth and small chin that is even farther back than I started with.
I begged to speak to dr oh daily and he wouldn’t talk to me until I threatened to post a real self review and he told me to send him double the amount and he did nothing wrong.
I’ve asked more than 100 times for my operative reports and consent forms and Suyen hasn’t responded to me for over two weeks and has said she doesn’t know when they will be available.
The aftercare by those fake “nurses” was so awful . I clicked and clicked the button and they would ignore me. I begged them to give me something for anxiety and they said no I don’t care and left.
They did not come to see me at all.
I have to get a revision surgery , two surgeries over 2 years.
Dr oh has a suspension of qualification under the plastic surgery association of South Korea. It says on the site to check there for the plastic surgeon you are interested in and make sure they are qualified ! He’s suspended !
He should not be operating
Everyone check purse forum on real stories by patients botched by him
Suyen is not nice at all that’s a big joke
Your review sounds very generic and fake
EVERYONE AVOID DR. OH
I have serious medical problems now and I was normal and healthy before
Again he’s not a Oral and maxillofacial surgeon and should not be planning to cut up your jaw in one week planning and using a metal “face bow” device he makes you pay an extra 2,500 in cash for ,
Also he uses a no tie method so your lower jaw is just vertically cracked and hanging there with no fixation and it’s extremely dangerous and makes a revision extremely hard
It is really scary how narrow my airway is right now
Be careful everyone !!!!!!!
To the author of the review: Your scans look amazing! Wouldn’t you mind to share your pics too? :)
Of course I did not expect this and no one should this is awful and illegal and he shouldn’t practice anymore
He has not responded to me or his staff and I want my reports and they ignore me
So how are they nice ?
