I had two PRP treatments for hair loss. I am a 55 yo woman with thinning hair, mostly in the crown. I had one treatment in Sept 2016, and the second in Dec,, 2016, with laser treatments in between. I had a huge hair fall in January, 2017, which may or may not have been related. It is now 7 months since my second treatment and I have had 0 new hair growth. It did not work for me at all.
So far good experience. Everyone was pleasant and made me feel important. Dr harris checked on me day after and so did surgery center nurse. Havent had any bruising on my face just congestion and a little discomfort. I am a few days post op. my reveal will be next week but already i can see the change. I went into it thinking i will be out of commision for the entire week but i guess every case is isolated because i have no bruising at all, only discomfort Updated on 5 Sep 2012: It's been about 3 weeks and I am loving my results. I've been looking at my results on a daily basis ( I know a bit too much) but I just wanted to see how it changed. My swollen tip has gone done a whole LOT! Giving true definition to my bridge and tip. I've compared the before and after pictures and the after pictures definitely show the true me. True me...as in enhances my beauty. A few people are starting to notice i think because the swelling is subsiding but overrall it wasn't so drastic that it would be too obvious. I hope to post some pics after my one month mark.
I am from the midwest area and I am traveling to Chevy Chase, MD to have a primary rhinoplasty surgery with Dr. Monte Harris. I am excited about this procedure and want to receive advice from previous rhinoplasty patients. I also want to share my experience. I am 25 years old and I have my fathers nose. I am a true daddies girl. LOL. Updated on 25 Jul 2012: The surgeons fee was $6500 plus $3000 for operating room and anesthesia. Updated on 7 Aug 2012: I am running a fever today. My eyes are swollen and my throat is dry I went for my post op appointment and everything looks good. I have received several phone calls from the dr and nurse checking up on me. Updated on 16 Aug 2012: The outcome is amazing. If your not satisfied with your God given features and want to maximize your confidence go to Dr Harris. Im glad I took the time to find a doctor who understood my anatomy. He did not leave access scaring, and recommended I get a tailored skin regime to enhance my rhinoplasty. At his office I purchased several different highly concentrated products to help me with my dark spots caused by acne scarring to compliment my "remodeled" nose. I have breast implants and I will say the pain level was more intense in that surgery then my rhinoplasty. Also after watching several youtube videos I had this heighten sense of anxiety;I worked myself up thinking I would be "down" for a whole month. NOT TRUE at all! Yes I swollen eyes for the first 3 days, and the pain level from 1-10 was a 5 , but I imagined this really scary experience and I will say it was more liberating than anything else. Updated on 30 Jan 2014: Dr Harris is the best.... Updated on 29 May 2014: Dr Harris does subtle work, but I'm not sure if a person can handle a dramatic nose job with the first go around . It's your face, to go from 1-100 causes mental issues. Ie Latoya Jackson looks like 2 different ppl. Look like a better u, not another person . Updated on 29 May 2014:
I am an African American female that had a car accident in 2010 and suffered injuries to include deviated septum and my nose looked sligtly slanted to one side from front view and i had a dorsal hump from side view. Rhinoplasties are not very common where I come from. I've never personally known anyone that has had one, even to this day outside of my own surgery, so I was apprehensive to say the least. Apprehensive mostly about my outcome, I didnt want a western/european slimmer nose look I just wanted the dorsal hump corrected where I looked like a better version of my old self (prior to my accident) and that goal was achieved w/ Dr. Harris. I was an out of town patient and upon arrival I was greeted w/warm hellos and important information to prepare me for the surgery and the days after. I experienced the most pain the day after surgery but pain killers and rest took care of that. The first 6 mos after surgery took some getting used to my new nose and the swelling to subside but as time passed. Some days, I kinda felt like mrs potato head trying to get used to a new nose but 6 mos post +, me and my nose are family again lol. Its been a year since my surgery and I can honestly say I'm pleased w/ the results of my rhinoplasty. I did not incur any hypertrophic scars like some of the ppl I've read about post surgery and my nose looks natural, its not obvious I had a change on my nose. Friends and family who don't know about my nose job dont look @ my face in suspense and say, hey somethings different, did you have a nose job? My goals were achieved and now on to the next chapter, thanks Dr. Monte O. :-) (my pics on are his website) Updated on 22 Sep 2013: Just wanted to give update and pics now that all the swelling has subsided. During the first year of my surgery I didn't take pics outside of using my own cell phone in home lighting and I must say that my phone/ pics in home lighting deceived me, lol. Even though still a little self conscious about my new nose a few mos after my post I felt confident to take pics in different settings, public, and natural lighting. To my surprise the lighting showed different shadows and angles of my nose I hadn't noticed prior to. Come to find out, after all the swelling went away the new/true shape of my nose was like an hour-glass. I didn't want to accept this because of all the trouble I had went through to have this surgery. Needless to say I contacted Dr. Harris for revision and after I sent him the pics he agreed I should come in person for a look. During our Skype he mentioned it was possibly due to my healing and after a second consult w/another dr he said same thing. Unfortunately, I live many states away from Dr Harris' office and it already cost enough $$ for the 1st surgery and lodging so Im unable to travel again for another unpredictable result. Now I'm in the same boat with those who miss their old nose. Updated on 22 Sep 2013: Even though still a little self conscious about my new nose a few mos "after my review post on this website" I felt confident
Red flag #1: Signing a consent form that basically stated I will not sue if not satisfied w/ results. Red flag #2: Monte Harris basically discouraged expectation of achieving optimum results, by saying, "at least I'll now have "some hair" Red flag #3: They harvested way less follicles needed for optimum results, therefore, I had do followup treatments which cost me more money. Red flag #4: We debated about the location of my natural hairline bc he got it wrong. So, he asked me to show him, and I did. However, he must've told the technicians to follow his first outline, bc that is exactly what they did. So after the procedure, I was left w/ a higher unnatural-looking hairline. There is a bald outline between where the implants stopped and my "baby-hairs". I went to Monte Harris for help, so that I would no longer need to wear a wig. Now, a year later, I still need to wear a wig bc the procedure was not done correct the first time. I also want point out that he does not do the implants himself, his "technicians" do. I had two working on my head and I'm guessing they have two to speed up the process. However, bc of this, each produced differing results, (ie: one side of the hairline they did is higher than the other side). I would NOT recommend Monte Harris anyone. I could go on more, but the gist of the matter is, I recommend you find another doctor who puts the burden of achieving optimum results on his ability to perform in his capacity & not on you, the patient. DO NOT GO TO MONTE HARRIS.
For the past 5yrs, I’ve contemplated getting a nose job coupled with a chin implant to enhance my profile. I’ve always felt like my nose was big (flat, no definition at tip) however was never too bothered by it because it didn’t affect my dating/social life in any way or shape. However, after the birth of my first child 3yrs ago, I felt like my already big nose was now bigger even after I had lost most of my pregnancy weight. At that point I decided that I to finally move forward with the rhinoplasty & chin implant. I’ve spent the last 3yrs doing research on surgeon in North America & Surgeons overseas. Initially, I had limited my choice down to two Surgeons; Dr. Monte Harris or Dr. Michael Salzhauer. Both doctors seem to have great reviews and great results. However after further research, I soon came across reviews of different patients that weren’t so happy with their results from both surgeons. Nonetheless, I decided that I would still move forward with Dr. Monte Harris. After all, most of his patients seemed please with their results, his knowledge on African American patient was intensive, he was a high rated surgeon, and most especially his results looked so natural.
Septal cartilage is an ideal source for graft material to improve tip definition. The septal cartilage tends to be quite sturdy. When used as a columellar strut to increase tip projection, septal cartilage is the best graft material to ensure long lasting improvement.
Rhinoplasty can be performed successfully on patients with thick skin. The changes, however, are less dramatic and often take much longer to become noticeable.
