After 2 pregnancies I was left with a diet and exercise resistant pouch. I chose a tummy tuck over Cool Sculpting because I wanted full results in fat reduction and skin tightening. Pics are before, 1 week post op, and 1 year results.
I came to Dr. Fasching for my Tummy Tuck consultation and no one else because a couple of years ago he did my breast augmentation and I've been so pleased with his work and his team. I just knew I didn't want to look anywhere else! I was still anxious going into all this because it felt like a scary undertaking. But honestly now being 2 weeks out I'm so glad I did it and the recovery has really been a dream. I had a substantial diastasis going into the procedure, along with a small umbilical hernia and loose skin. Having been a very thin, active person, it's been challenging to not feel comfortable wearing a bikini or maximizing my exercise routines because my core being so weak. Now I cannot wait for bikini season! And I'm certainly itching to get back on the treadmill but will wait until the doctor gives me the OK. What I can say is have help for the first few days 24 hours. Then from there, you will become more independent. By day 3 I was off the hard pain meds, by day 5 I was driving really short distances, and by 1 week I was able to do some very light house cleaning (like wiping a counter or cleaning a dish). At 2 weeks now I can walk a mile or two outside and that feels great. I am in no pain, just have some mild swelling that occurs throughout the day which they said can occur for awhile. I love my new figure and my new belly button and cannot wait to leverage my new core in my exercise routine! Feeling incredible! Updated on 15 Apr 2021: Providing an update as I’m at 9weeks! Showing my scar for someone who asked it is a T-scar because the doctor felt that would be better versus have an indent where my old belly button was. My scar is super low and already as faded a lot! I certainly can wear virtually any bikini. I also love that some of my ab muscles are starting to show through. I’m back to running a few miles a day (still at slower speeds then I’m used to), lifting weights and just this past week and am reintroducing some an work. I feel great and some days forget I had surgery now. I also have very little swelling anymore which is awesome. I used Spanx religiously 24x7 until about 6 weeks and then just at night until 8 weeks and now only as needed. Loving my results! Look and feel great!
After 3 weeks, I'm really happy with my results from Dr Fasching-- I was already in shape but couldn't shake my pear shape. I went into surgery with realistic expectations for shaping rather than a brand new body. Day 1- surgery was easy.. In at 7, home by 11. I woke up in compression pants and only had to have Tylenol and rested with my legs up. Day 2- Dr Fasching said your day after surgery will look great because swelling hasn't kicked in yet, and he was right. I spent most of this day in bed but was able to shower. Plan on a few days in bed taking it easy- but Tylenol was enough to keep me comfortable. I laid in bed with my legs up, started arnica gel. I would advise anyone to plan on very little activity for a few days after since you will be moving slowly. Day 3 and Week 1- Swelling and bruising set in and I guess mine was more on the extreme side (not a surprise given how my skin always bruises). I kept up on arnica and by day 3 I wasn't even taking Tylenol. Week 2-- Still very swollen but bruising starting to fade. I was able to get back on my Peloton. Week 3- bruises gone and happy with my results-- I can't wait to see it look even better over time. General-- I wore my surgical compression pants 24/7 for 2 weeks and switched to tight fitting yoga pants after that. I was really good about keeping my legs up for the first couple weeks. Plan on a very low key week 1 and if you are like me- no swimsuit for 3-4 weeks because of bruising. My incision scars are almost gone after week 3. Very happy with my experience and medical staff!
I highly recommend dr fasching! I am a 30 year old mother of 3 and had lost and gained breast tissue throughout my pregnancies ranging from 32a-34gg over the last 10 years. Prior to surgery I was a 32b and after I’m now 32dddd. I’m 5’5 and 145 pounds
I consulted three doctors before I made my final decision to go with Dr. Fasching. That man is a magician! He transformed my body beyond anything that I could have ever imagined. He is kind, funny and makes you feel like you are his most important patient.
Excellent results. He has been my surgeon since 2006. He is meticulous! Takes time with you as a patient, great bedside manner. All of my surgeries have been exactly what I have expected. - Surgeries by Dr. Fasching: breast aug, tummy tuck, face lift, eye lift- upper/lower, brow lift, lipo. - All surgeries throughout a 13 year time frame. I am super happy with my results that I carry with me 365 / 24 / 7 !! He is an EXCELLENT SURGEON!
I have thought about getting a mommy makeover, ever since 2014 when I knew I was done having children. I started out with a pre-pregnancy weight of 153# and gained around 40# with my first, 30# with my other2. I had 3 babies in 3 years (yes, so 3 under the age of 3) and my body clearly worked hard for that! I'm currently hovering around 148# give or take a few pounds during the week. But I have consistently stayed at that weight for a few years now, so I knew it was time to start seriously thinking about my mommy make over. I have researched for YEARS on this procedure, asked all my friends who had it done and ultimately decided to go to Dr. Michael Fasching in Plymouth, MN! I have my surgery scheduled for Sept. 27th, 2019. I am BEYOND excited and also super nervous.... but I know its going to be great. Im still having a hard time deciding on what implant size to get, I will be going in again on Sept. 11 to get all my before photos taken and measurements- at that time I think the doctor and I will confirm what size is best for me. Im having a full tummy tuck, breast augmentation and chin lipo. My double chin is genetic and im pretty pumped to get rid of that little stinker!!! I will continue to post photos and updates as they come! Updated on 20 Aug 2019: 148 pounds. Size 6 sometimes 8. I had a csection with my first baby, had VBAC with the other 2. I feel like my csection created the mess of the flap of skin. I will have so muscle repair as well the doctor said. I’m hoping I will be a true size 6 when I’m fully healed. I’m not really sure what my bra size is, I’ve been told 36 B, 34 C and 32 D- but I am pretty sure I just a B. Doctor said I don’t need a lift. I’m hoping to be a D in the end, I originally picked 365CC with my first consultation, but after a few weeks thinking about it I think I’ll go bigger. So hard to decide what size to pick! Updated on 20 Aug 2019: 36 B (I think?) possibly small C. I’m hoping for full D after surgery. I know we are doing silicone gel, under the muscle. Just can’t decide what CC, originally 365 high profile, thinking I might decide to go larger. Updated on 5 Sep 2019: I'm just one day shy of 3 weeks from my procedures. I'm so excited, but soooo nervous. I think I'm most nervous about my scars.... which is odd because I really hadn't thought a whole lot about the tummy tuck scars or my belly button much, but lately it's all I can think about. I know its a long healing process, but I'm just hoping I mentally stay really strong. Looking at everyone's photos has helped me so much to see all the different phases. Any advice or input would be so appreciated!! Also, still not sure about breast size.... but im really looking forward to going into my PS office in a week and really figuring it out!!! I did rice sizers and I think I did it wrong, lol!!! I filled each bag with 2 cups of rice ( so close to 475 cc I think?) and it made my boobs look insanely huge, like waaaaaayyy too big. It looked like I had 800+ cc!! So I think just going back to the doctor and trying on the real deal will help me so much. Updated on 12 Sep 2019: So I had my pre op visit yesterday! They took all my before photos, went over all the surgery day stuff and what to expect when it’s over. I got my prescription forms filled out (ah!) and we picked my final breast size!!! Originally with my first consultation, we decided on 365 high profile gel and I went home and immediately started feeling like I should go a little bigger. After speaking to all my friends who had implants (so about 4 people) they all told me they were either so happy they went bigger OR some wished they would’ve gone bigger. So after trying on a bunch of different sizes, the doctor and I ultimately decided to go with 415 high profile gel which should end up looking like a 385 when I’m fully healed. Since the implant is going behind the muscle, you lose a little volume. I think I picked the perfect size and I cannot wait to see the results!!! I should end up being a FULL D, at least. I’m starting to really get butterflies! It’s actually feeling real now. It’s all just happening so fast! I thought I’d feel like the time would be moving so slowly and that’s not the case at all! I’m so ready to just do this and start healing and I can’t wait to see my results in the next several months! I know it’s quite the healing process especially with the tummy tuck, so I feel like I’m mentally prepared for each phase of this! (Now just keep myself healthy and not get sick before surgery day ????) Updated on 28 Sep 2019: 24 hours after surgery. I took a shower, pain levels are becoming more manageable since the slow release drug they injected in my abdomen is starting to work! But I have absolutely had some moments or intense discomfort!! But... I’m thrilled with my results so far. I know I’m very swollen and bruised but I can already tell when I’m fully healed this will be beyond my expectations! I will continue to upload my progress. I did get muscle repair on my abdomen, liposuction all around- and my implants are 415cc high profile gel under the muscle. I can’t wait to see these babies drop and fluff out!!! Also, I cannot say enough wonderful things about my surgeon, Dr. Fasching He was just incredible, along with the whole team. I was truly in the best hands. Updated on 28 Sep 2019: Wow!!! So happy with these results. Some swelling and bruising, but it already looks great! I have to wear a foam pad and chin strap for 3 days, but then wearing it during the night for a week after that will be enough. Such an easy recovery, no pain. Highly recommend! Updated on 1 Oct 2019: On the struggle bus big time today.... my fluids are decreasing significantly (yay!) but I woke up feeling even more sore and stiff than ever. Felt super frustrated. I don’t regret this AT ALL, I’m 100% happy I did this- but I’ve hit a wall off feeling out of control and exhausted. It’s hard to move, hard to breathe... I’m just really looking forward to turning that corner and feeling more like myself. I meet with my doctor tomorrow for my first real post op appointment,so I’m really looking forward to hearing what he has to say about my swelling and progress! I have some fluid built up on my hips/love handles (to be expected )but my doctor had me send him pictures to see how much fluid build up is happening in my most bruised areas. Luckily he said everything seems to look ok for now and is to be expected for the amount of lipo he did. I’m going to look into a different binder, mine is so uncomfortable, I’m hoping that will help as well getting something that covers more skin! All in all, I can’t complain too much, I think I’m doing really well and I’m pleased with what I’m seeing so far! I know it’s all worth it in the end. Updated on 3 Oct 2019: You know you are in the best care with this doctor and his staff. He is so smart, honest, extremely encouraging and caring. I'm about 6 days post mommy make over (full tummy tuck, breast augmentation, lipo) and I'm already BEYOND pleased with my results and I've still got months to go in my recovery but I can already see his work has exceeded my expectations. He won't tell you what you want to hear, he will tell you what's achievable and realistic which I personally think is so important. I'm so thankful I picked him and I would recommend him to anyone. Updated on 4 Oct 2019: It’s been one week today! I’m feeling really good. Last 2 days I’ve had a bad headache and I’m a little pale in my face, I’m wondering if it’s just coming off all the drugs? But doctor wasn’t worried. He checked my legs and blood flow, no concern for clots. Just probably need to eat more often and keep up with even more liquids. My pain is totally manageable, still sore uber my boobs and at the end of the day my back hurts. My bruising is still so intense !!! But the doctor told me it all looked great and my heavy bruising is to be expected with all the lipo he did. He took the tape off my boobs and the stitches, along with my chin lipo stitches (my double chin is totally done and there are NO marks from incisions, very happy with that result). I am SO happy with my boobs and my new tummy, each day I get more and more excited for my final results. I think my boobs are perfect, lol! Never thought I’d say that one day! They are still super firm and high up, but I can tell that they fit me perfectly! So excited for them to drop and fluff out. I started my massages yesterday, pretty easy! And I’ll wear a binder to push them down every few hours. They are pretty swollen and tender, but I’m also due to get my period in 3 days. I did pictures of everything, close up on breast scars and TT scar. My tape is still on for my TT scar, and my drain will be removed on Monday!!!! (SO excited about that!!!!) just praying everything continues to heal properly and I don’t run into any issues. I’ve been very blessed so far so so thankful I was able to do this for myself, zero complaints or regrets still! I love everything! Confidence is already growing! Updated on 6 Oct 2019: Getting into clothes that aren’t it sweatpants! Feeling SO awesome in my yoga pants, even with the excess swelling still. A million times more comfortable wearing these with a flat tummy! And my boobs.... ugh. Love them so much! Still so pleased with the size. Drain comes out tomorrow! I’ve consistently had less than 25cc’s for several days now, so I feel really good about getting it removed tomorrow. Definitely don’t feel like I’m getting it out too early. It will feel SO good to not have to hide it anymore! Updated on 8 Oct 2019: Ugh. Today I woke up the tiniest I’ve felt so far.... but at the end of the day I am the most swollen I’ve felt since day 2 or 3 after surgery. Everything is so tight and lumpy, it’s quite tender to the touch. I walked around way too much today, I folded way too much laundry and bent over way too many times. The whole time I kept thinking “I should stop” but my energy was so high I just wanted to keep going and get things done since my husband is traveling for work and the kids clothes had to be put away. It doesn’t look too bad, but it feels uncomfortable (than most evenings) I’m so so stiff.... thought I’d share so others can understand how truly important it is to just take it SLOW. I don’t think I look horribly swollen, but again it’s more how it makes you feel. The lumpy tight skin is bothering me the most, my clothes are irritating my skin and I had to take my binder off because it was making me itch. Tomorrow I will absolutely lay down more and drink twice as much water. My period is also starting which I’m sure is not helping. Also, I took my silicone tape off, my scar looks great and I’ve been applying the scar gel my doctor gave me! I think he did such a good job on my belly button as well, it’s healing so wonderfully! Updated on 8 Oct 2019: I forgot to mention my drain came out on day 10! I absolutely could have gotten it out day 7, but I was not in any rush. I wanted as much fluid out as possible. I was averaging 8-15cc’s of fluid every 24 hours from day 7-10 so I felt very confident taking it out by day 10. I felt ZERO pain whatsoever when it was removed!!!! Didn’t even feel it come out! I also never leaked much more fluid, so I didn’t have to pack it with gauze. My wound is already closed a day later (yay body!) feels SO SO good to have that drain out. Taking that first shower without a rope around my neck was glorious! Updated on 9 Oct 2019: I’ve been up for about 2 hours this morning, still minimal swelling. Thought I’d document. Most of my swelling is the TT incision sight. Breasts are getting softer! Yay! Updated on 10 Oct 2019: So.... it’s WAY too early to be doing this. But I needed to get some bras with more support. I’ve got 2 bralettes that are super comfy, but don’t cover up the girls very well under my clothes (and I’ve got 4 sons in the house and a very very observant 8 year old daughter, I gotta tame these puppies down) so I went to Victoria’s secret and PINK had some wireless bras 50% off and they are PERFECT!!! Very very light padding, just lined enough to cover when I’m nipping out and great support, no push up padding. I’m not sure if I picked the right size ?????? I didn’t ask for help. But it seems like 34DD works for now. Obviously my implants haven’t dropped yet, so I’m hoping that these great bras don’t go to waste when they DO drop...But anyway, they feel wonderful for now! And I’m pretty excited about the size (yay!!) Updated on 16 Oct 2019: Bruising is going away slowly. This is end of day swelling (and I’m wearing new jeans so there is always indents on the skin) but I’m very comfortable! I’m currently a size 4, but I can fit into a 2. If there were a size 3 it would probably be perfect, so for now I purchased a size 4 in stretch jeans and I’m super comfortable! I was 150 pounds on operation day. I’m currently 143 and I think it will keep going down a bit! My old jeans are way too baggy n the crotch/tummy area (size 6) my boobs seem to be dropping a bit! My right side seems to be dropping quicker (I’m guessing because it’s my dominant arm?) but I’m still so happy with the size and I can’t wait to see them change in the next few weeks even more. My tummy tuck scar is healing so beautifully!!!! I’m sure in a year it will barely be noticeable! Belly button is healing well too! I have another doctors appointment coming up October 30th. Updated on 25 Oct 2019: Wow! Each day I see more and more progress. Even starting to see some abs! Can’t wait to hit the gym once I get clearance from my doctor! Pain is gone, but skin sensitivity is still present. I can still feel deep bruising as well- just tender to the touch in some spots. I’m fluctuating between 142 and 146 regularly (who the heck knows why) I feel like there is no rhyme or reason with the weight right now so I’m not gonna panic over it. I’m currently in size 25 and 26 inch pants (European sizing from the brand I’ve been wearing lately) I think that’s still around a US size 4? Doctor visit on October 30th! Updated on 4 Nov 2019: My recovery and results have been absolutely incredible. All the credit to my doctor, I truly believe this has been such a smooth process because of his skill. So so happy! Updated on 6 Nov 2019: Scar is healing well, but doctor said mine is still darker than usual right now (genetics) which I was expecting based off other scars I’ve had. He said mine won’t be white for over a year. But I’m really happy at least it’s far below my underwear line (I pulled my underwear further down obviously for this photo) vertical scar is due to having my belly button pierced and covering the hole- that’s the only part of my scar that is more difficult to hide, but still manageable. Updated on 22 Nov 2019: I feel absolutely incredible. My scars are still quite dark (literally don’t care) I’ll take it over the flabby skin I had before! My boobs are dropping beautifully, I love them SO much! I started working out again, just cardio for now. Next week I can ease into yoga again, I can’t wait! I’m now officially a size 2, XS to small tops. But my weight is still hovering around 145... hmmm. Feeling awesome, now just managing keeping these results up! Updated on 27 Dec 2019: I feel incredible!!! So so happy still with my results. I definitely gained a few pounds of holiday weight- but I’m not gonna kick myself over it- I’ll get back on track. I’m wearing European size 25 now. Still 34DD in bra size. My lipo on my chin is absolutely flawless, you can’t see the scar at all and I no longer have a double chin. My abdomen and back get itchy sometimes and I feel the twinges of nerves reconnecting. Swelling is pretty much gone I think. My scars are quite noticeable, but I’m very happy with how flat my stomach is, so it really doesn’t bother me. I have my next follow up appointment January 6th and I can’t wait to show my doctor how well he did!!!!
Dr. Fasching is a genius! That’s all i can say about him in a simple words! From the initial consultation to the day of surgery i was extremely confident in my choice of surgeon!! even though i am just 10 days post op today as my surgery was on may 30th I am already feeling great and oh yeah i am able to stand upright for like almost 100 percent and absolutely in love with my result!! Thank you dr. Fasching for giving me a beautiful tummy and a cute belly button!! Updated on 9 Jun 2019: Today i am feeling great! Everyday my energy level is better. I've not required anything for discomfort, not even Tylenol for 4 days now. I stopped taking narcotics 3 days after my surgery, so yeah i am completely off from medication and also My doctor already took out my drain three days ago which was relaxing for me now i can move easily And yeah I don’t swell that much as i read about others reviewers.Overall i look amazing and confident too! Updated on 16 Jun 2019: So today i am 18 day post op! just feeling awesome day by day and getting back to my daily routine and enjoying motherhood with my two beautiful daughters and a loving, caring husband which makes me feel great. A little stiff this morning but other than that i am doing awesome and though i am a little over 2 weeks into my recovery, i love the way how i look and Healing nicely with no pain at all. Updated on 16 Jun 2019: Also just wanted to share a pic of my Belly button and I’m really happy with where I’m at 2 weeks down.Surgery was worth it. Love the way i look.after a long time i like what i see in the mirror. So much happy with my recovery so far. Touchwood! Updated on 10 Jul 2019: So 6 week post op today! Went to see my doctor on my 4 week post op appointment and everything looks good and i am healing nicely, he also cleared me for exercising like light stretching, walking, bicycling etc but no heavy lifting for another 4 weeks or so. That means I can’t pick my 23 month old for the next few week or a month..which i am really missing but it’s all for my good. He told me to keep the tape on the scar, scabs are pretty much gone.. it just few tiny scabs are there. Scar is very low. After three weeks of surgery I noticed i swelled up easily because of doing too much and he told me that swelling is common and it will eventually go away on its own just don’t stand too much for more than 20 mins. Tummy is pretty much numb which is expected after going for such an extensive surgery. I can move and walk easily and also i started laying down to my side aswell. So yeah everything is going well.
After a two year weight loss journey and trying to eliminate extra skin I finally decided to get a tummy tuck to get rid of what I couldn’t. I’m so glad that I did. I’m only one day post op as my surgery was just yesterday. I was able to look at myself today after showering and snap a few pics. I’m amazed at how I look even after just one day! I started to tear up in the bathroom when I saw my new tummy and belly button-it’s so cute! I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Fasching and his staff. I met with a few different doctors and after meeting with him I knew he was the right dr for me. His bedside manner was great and the whole process leading up to the procedure was simple. I stayed at Interlude Restorative Suites for the first night which was so nice. It made it easy to have my next day follow up Appt and then go home. My next post op Appt is next week and hoping to get rid of the drain. I’ll keep y’all posted! Updated on 18 Mar 2019: Welp! The worst is out of the way! Made it through the week. Last Monday was my surgery and it’s Monday! Yay! The pain was pretty much gone after day 2 and I stopped the pain meds and moved on to Extra Strength Tylenol. My body is still very swollen but I couldn’t be happier!! My stomach and belly button look so good. New body...who dis?! ???? Couldn’t resist getting into a bikini today to see where the scars will fall. ???? It’s absolutely perfect! Dr. Fasching is a genius! Updated on 19 Mar 2019: Check out my amazing belly button! ???? Updated on 30 Mar 2019: Feeling so good!! Almost feel like I’m back to normal. Can’t wait to get back to working out and the weather is making me want to go for a run soooo bad! Been taking walks on bike trails enjoying the sun. Scabs are pretty much gone and scar is pencil thin. Skin looks a little wrinkled where the sutures are but I know that will go away in time. Stomach is flat as a board! ???????? Currently using the surgical tape they recommended on the big incision. I’ve left my belly button completely alone and it is still looking fantastic! I plan on starting scar therapy with embrace strips and occasionally letting it breathe and applying bio oil. I’ll share more on the progress of my scars over the next few weeks. ???? Updated on 30 Mar 2019: Just also wanted to share how low the scar is! Even tiny panties and string bikinis cover it up. Can’t even tell there’s a scar there! It’s so amazing! I’m so happy with these results. It’s a little tough to not want to hunch over to protect my tummy which makes my pics look a little thick but my waist really is tiny. It still feels tight but I’m doing my best to make myself stand up totally straight. Updated on 8 Apr 2019: Still feeling better and better every day! My scar is really thin and my belly button looks great! Yesterday was my first real attempt at working out. I walked at the steepest incline on my treadmill for 20 minutes and some light upper body weight lifting. I felt really good but held back because I really don’t want to injure myself. My next follow up Appt is coming up soon so I hope my Dr gives me the green light to workout again. Attaching two photos of my tummy progress. The close up really shows the healing of my scar. It’s looking so great along the sides and hips but sill a little red in the center and you can see the scar from the drain within my pubic area. Overall still very happy with everything! Updated on 10 Apr 2019: Had my follow up with Dr. F. Everything looks great! The last of the few tiny scabs I had have fallen off and they gave me scar cream today. Very excited to start that! Been given the green light to start doing light cardio and very very light weight lifting. Updated on 15 Apr 2019: So not much more to say on this. Life is getting back to normal a little more and more each day. Healing up so nicely. I’m so happy I did this! Pretty flat every morning but as the day goes on I get a little fluffy by night time from swelling but not terrible. Started working out again which feels so great. Scar is just a thin pink line that looks better each week. Still a lot of numbness down the center of my belly, around my belly button, at the tops of my thighs, and across my incision but I’ve heard that will get better over time. Hopefully that will improve soon. Attaching my progress pics. Updated on 29 Apr 2019: I’ve lost track of time the last few weeks but I’m almost totally back to normal. I haven’t been able to do full workouts like I used to but I’m getting there. This week will be my first full week of working out. Back to the 6 day a week grind! My tummy is pretty much the same. The scar is healing really nicely and my stomach is totally flat but it’s been like that from the beginning. My surgeon did such a great job and I’ve barely dealt with swelling like others have. I swell a little by the end of the day but it’s not much.
I am 36, 5’7”, 132#, athletic. After two pregnancies, both C-sections and one of them with twins, I have a herniated belly button and a couple inches of diastasis to repair. My 34C cups are now 34A. I’m not worried about what other people think I look like, I want to do the surgery for myself and feeling confident in the bedroom with my husband. He loves the way I look now because I gave them his three kids but I want to feel sexier! And this herniated belly button sticks about 2 inches out of my clothing. :-) so even though I’m lean and thin, I have a finger poking out of my clothes. Ha! I just scheduled my surgery for December 31. My twins will be 18 months old and my toddler four months old. It seems like a horrible time to do this but I’m looking to go back to work next year full-time so now is the best time. And my in-laws live in my neighborhood so they are on board to help. I would love to hear from anyone with young kids when going through the post surgery recovery and what it was like. The doctor believes I might be able to do more of a mini tuck. And for my breasts I would prefer to keep them small and perky so I am constantly disagreeing with the doctor about “someday I’ll wish I went bigger”. I want to go smaller (175cc-200cc) so that I’m borderline B/C cup. Call me crazy, right? I’m a runner with strong Norwegian genes so I’ll only get more boney with age. Lol Updated on 9 Dec 2018: Getting so nervous. I have twin 17mo olds and a 4 year old. Thankfully they’ll be in daycare FT for a couple weeks. My mom is staying with us for the first week. I’m more nervous about the recovery and not being able to lift 24# children into car seats and high chairs during the 3-4 week post-surgery timeframe. But I’m buying a toddler table and chairs for them to eat at (no high chairs), and I’m going to try and schedule lots of play dates with friends who are willing to help. Thankfully my hubby is a biz owner whose work load is slower in January. Any recovery tips from people are greatly appreciated!!!! Updated on 12 Dec 2018: After much research and conversations with women who have had this done, my husband I agreed to wait another year so my twins will be 2.5 and more self sufficient (less lifting demands). I’m selfishly sad about this because I was so eager to get this done, but I’m a mom who needs to put her kids first right now and theres no way they will be able to do a month without me lifting them (that will be hard on me too). Another year of hiding this hideous hernia under my clothes! Blah. Updated on 8 Oct 2019: It has been hard for me to find a “mini boob job” on this site, as well as anyone tall like me (is everyone 5’4”?!!) looking to do a modest breast augmentation as part of their mommy makeover. So the only reason I’m sharing on this site is to help other people like myself who are tall, athletic, and looking for a “mini boob job”. I was a small C pre-pregnancy and that’s what I’m going for with the 255cc Natrelle modest implants. I just ran a marathon a few days ago so I’m in my best shape to hopefully have a speedy recovery from the surgery. Updated on 10 Oct 2019: I battled with nausea (as I always do with drugs and traveling) so I stayed in recovery for a couple hours longer than anticipated. But then I was home by 2pm. I’m hunched over like others say and I fee short of breath but nothing too crazy. More painful than a Csection recovery obviously. Just for the record: there’s no way anyone could do this surgery without an aid to help you get up and down stairs, the bed, the toilet, etc. I ended up going with 275 cc Moderate profile after all! Updated on 13 Oct 2019: My back is so tight and in pain from constantly hunching and sleeping/lying in a gradual incline position. My husband uses the Hypervolt massager (see Amazon) on my back and it provides so much relief! Get a good massager, ladies. Your back will hurt more than the abs!!! And OMG it hurts so bad when someone makes you laugh. Even the dog took a funny stumble and I laughed, which made me scream in pain feeing like I tore a stitch and I peed myself a little. Haha Updated on 14 Oct 2019: Feeling great and getting stronger! I can get myself in and out of the car and off sofa (weaker at night when I have maybe been overdoing it, which is hard not to when you have three kids under age of 5 around for dinner). Ibuprofen is all I’m taking. I enjoy feeling pain so I know my limitations. I have been sleeping in lift chair/recliner every night but will try laying flat on my bed tonight. Each night of sleep is getting better too! 6 straight hours last night. I coughed on some water last night and it sent me into tears! So painful. Laughing hurts but coughing feels like someone is tearing your stitches inside your stomach (based on some quick internet research I don’t believe I have threatened or ruined any of my abdominal stitches thankfully). Updated on 15 Oct 2019: Updated on 16 Oct 2019: Had the drain tube removed! Not painful at all- just weird. Then Dr Fasching took a look at my back as I tried my best to stand up straight. He could also see the tightness, like spasms in my lower left side of my back. He pushed on my shoulder with one hand and used his other hand to push on my back (trying to get me to extend completely upright) and all of a sudden there was a quick, uncomfortable stretch in my upper abdomen that almost felt like a pop but then a complete release! He definitely stretched something that needed help because I felt so much better leaving the office. And now, two hours later, I can feel some relief in my back, too. Updated on 18 Oct 2019: Mobility is picking up. No heavy lifting or big house chores yet but I am able to cook, get up and down to help kids dress, and I can be on my feet for a couple hours at a time (followed by an hour or two of putting feet up). Pic added Updated on 20 Oct 2019: I’m not comfortable driving just yet, but starting to feel better to be able to use abs gently. I quit ibuprofen on day 8 which helps to feel my limitations when moving around. My caretaker(friend) is leaving today. So sad! But we precooked lots of freezer meals to make the week ahead less daunting. Not sure who will read this, but I’m adding these updates as a reference for anyone who is Debating/planning to do a MMO with little kids at home. Everyone heals differently but if you are athletic, in great shape pre-surgery ( no need for lipo), and have been through C-section(s) before, my story should be fairly relatable to you. Updated on 20 Oct 2019: Updated on 22 Oct 2019: Updated on 29 Oct 2019: I am starting to go on 20 minute walks once a day. I can feel the stretching in my upper abdomen as I walk upright and briskly so I am careful not to over do it. I still feel faint when I get up out of a chair though, which is weird for me, so it serves as a reminder not to push myself too much yet. The kids are at preschool during the days so I have been taking advantage of the down time during the days. My healing is likely more advanced thanks to the ability to rest so much during the days (I’m not working; I’ve been SAHM for over two years) and yet I feel like I have so much more healing to go. I honestly don’t know how a working mom could do this surgery and have a speedy recovery. It requires a lot of caution, self awareness, and training your kids to expect less of you (and more from them, which they need anyway ;). A friend of mine knew someone who did a Mommymakeover and she didn’t have help after day 5 so she had to return to doing every day activities on her own; she ended up rupturing a stitch, resulting in a terrible recovery! Updated on 11 Nov 2019: Pic update. Swelling in breasts down. 32D/34C - exactly what I wanted. Aside from my old, stretched belly button skin showing just above the incision (I didn’t have enough skin to pull all the way down but I’m happy I didn’t end up with a vertical incision!), I’m beyond happy with the results! I felt so good just wearing a Vneck T-shirt and skinny jeans over the wkend. I can’t recommend Dr Fasching and his team enough. Updated on 25 Nov 2019: My first run(jog) on the treadmill since the marathon and surgery almost 3 mos ago. Ran an adult 6.5mph for 5k with random inclines up to 3.5%. While I felt some tightness in abdomen it felt natural as a result of the abs being reconnected and healing. It didn’t feel painful or like I was pushing it. Best of all- I still fit in same Medium sports bras and I didn’t even notice my new boobs. In a couple weeks I’ll start slowly incorporating some lifting again. I need to get my quads and butt back! Updated on 25 Nov 2019: I finally can wear fitted Clothing! And it felt amazing. Updated on 13 Dec 2019: Feeling good running and doing lower body workouts like cycling, box step ups and squats. Ran 5 miles at 8:20 pace so feeling good with progress there. Keep in mind I didn’t have lipo so not sure how that may affect others’ recovery and getting back to the gym for anyone considering this mommy makeover. Super bummed my belly button is off center by like a half inch. But maybe no ones is ever perfect. And I don’t plan on being a 37 yr old mom wearing crop tops. :) Updated on 19 Feb 2020: Super sad about the belly button being off center and ugly (because I’ve spent my whole life wanting a normal innie like everyone else) but overall still so happy I did this!!!!! Updated on 2 Oct 2020:
The current improved silicone gel implants are described as cohesive gel implants, which implies that they are semi solid and have been crossed linked in the manufacture process greater than previous implants. Memory gel is one manufactures term, for this type of implants.
Implant position as well as size can create a lower profile of the breast rather than a high round look. This varies in due part to the patient’s skin envelope, the position of their inframammary fold, their chest wall as well as type of implant.
A patient 16 years of age, can undergo reduction mammoplasty for relatively large breast size and symptomatology. They should have achieved what would appear to be maturation without apparent immediate further growth. Breasts reduction can go from a D down to any size, but usually remaining the volume of a B or low C, means better projection, greater chance of breast feeding and generally less complications.
Generally one surgery is adequate for replacing breast implants for capsular contracture
Generally patients who have a thin subcutaneous breast layer, probably less than 1-2 cm will more likely feel the saline implants. Generally patients that have a lot of breast tissue or thick body habitus will have a feel of saline closer to that of silicone. I think there is no doubt though, that silicone implants generally have a softer feel.
