WORTH IT
I came to Dr. Fasching for my Tummy Tuck consultation and no one else because a couple of years ago he did my breast augmentation and I've been so pleased with his work and his team. I just knew I didn't want to look anywhere else! I was still anxious going into all this because it felt like a scary undertaking. But honestly now being 2 weeks out I'm so glad I did it and the recovery has really been a dream. I had a substantial diastasis going into the procedure, along with a small umbilical hernia and loose skin. Having been a very thin, active person, it's been challenging to not feel comfortable wearing a bikini or maximizing my exercise routines because my core being so weak. Now I cannot wait for bikini season! And I'm certainly itching to get back on the treadmill but will wait until the doctor gives me the OK. What I can say is have help for the first few days 24 hours. Then from there, you will become more independent. By day 3 I was off the hard pain meds, by day 5 I was driving really short distances, and by 1 week I was able to do some very light house cleaning (like wiping a counter or cleaning a dish). At 2 weeks now I can walk a mile or two outside and that feels great. I am in no pain, just have some mild swelling that occurs throughout the day which they said can occur for awhile. I love my new figure and my new belly button and cannot wait to leverage my new core in my exercise routine! Feeling incredible!

I have my surgery scheduled for Mach 11. I am doing my breasts at the same time. We are exactly the same measurements (5'6" and 125 lbs) and I am doing breasts (no lift) with tummy tuck (muscle repair and hernia). So excited and anxious. Your results are amazing! Hoping my yield the same.

Your results look wonderful, I’m 10 days post op. Usually very active too, it’s hard not being able to do all the things you normally do. I’m about to have drains and belly button sutures removed tomorrow afternoon, did you find that part to be painful? I’m looking forward to it and I’m dreading it.

Thanks you and congrats to you on being on the other side as well! My drains were not painful at all to get removed I barely even noticed it! But that day is a huge milestone in recovery because they are annoying! I hear ya on not being active. I’m literally counting down the days haha. But each day I feel a little bit better to walk further and with it getting nicer out even a small walk gets those endorphins up!

Thank you so much for your reply, it’s reassuring! I can’t wait to get out and walk the whole zoo with my kids again. I hope I feel good enough for that soon.

I was able to do about 90 minutes at the Science Museum yesterday on my feet, but then spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch for the most part. We are actually set to go to the zoo next weekend and I'll be just over 3 weeks at that point and I bet will be just fine. Good luck!

That’s encouraging! Thank you!

You look great . I had a tummy tuck about ten years ago . And now I seem to have a hernia and need diastasis recti repair. Does this doctor do drain less tummy tuck . Those drains are a killer.

Oh no that’s unfortunate! Did your original doctor not do the muscle repair originally? Dr Fasching does use a single drain for about the first week. I got mine out day 6. I didn’t find them to be painful or uncomfortable but I know it can be for others. I’ve seen others drains have interesting metal pieces around the spot where it is inserted and mine wasn’t that. It was just the hose so not sure if that made it easier or not. Good luck and sorry you’re having to go through this again!

Providing an update as I’m at 9weeks! Showing my scar for someone who asked it is a T-scar because the doctor felt that would be better versus have an indent where my old belly button was. My scar is super low and already as faded a lot! I certainly can wear virtually any bikini. I also love that some of my ab muscles are starting to show through. I’m back to running a few miles a day (still at slower speeds then I’m used to), lifting weights and just this past week and am reintroducing some an work. I feel great and some days forget I had surgery now. I also have very little swelling anymore which is awesome. I used Spanx religiously 24x7 until about 6 weeks and then just at night until 8 weeks and now only as needed. Loving my results! Look and feel great!
