I cannot say enough good things about Dr Colony and his staff. I am two days post-op (will update as my healing progresses) and I am so happy with my choice to finally get implants. Everyone at Michigan Plastic Surgery is so friendly and helpful. I was so worried about the anesthesia and I asked a hundred questions and they did a great job explaining everything and making me feel comfortable. I got exactly what I wanted and I will refer all of my friends to Dr Colony.
I came to Dr. Colony to fix my first surgery that resulted in uneven nipples. I was embarrassed to wear sports bars without padding because you can notice my silly nibbles significantly uneven. Look at my first post from my Louisiana surgery. Dr. Colony did absolutely amazing fixing my issue!! I was originally 34a bra without implants. My first surgery brought me up to a 34C cup with 400cc silicone. Dr. Colony used 550cc Mentor Memory Gel implants - smooth round moderate - plus profile. The staff was amazing from start to finish. They were soo sweet and this helped me not feel so nervous. They were always so happy and smiling and their soothing tone made me feel at ease especially during surgery prep. I'm feeling so confident and happy with my breast now.
I went to Dr. Colony for my breast augmentation and I’m so glad I did. His whole staff is amazing especially the nurses. They make you feel so comfortable! I was very nervous but they made the whole process so easy. He gave me exactly what I wanted and I am so happy!
I love how knowledgeable, kind and honest he is about everything. He gave me all my options and always told me pros and cons of going too big. At first I didn’t know I liked the idea that he would pick a smaller size in surgery if the larger ones don’t fit or start coming out the side, because I was afraid they would be too small for what I want ... However, I’m so happy I trusted him, my boobs are amazing and the perfect size. He knows what he’s doing and he’s good at it. All the staff members are amazing as well. Always so kind and never seem annoyed by any questions. I would highly recommend Dr. colony and his staff to any and everyone. So happy I found him!!
Hey Y'all I have lurked on here since 2017 and I am finally ready!!! I booked for lipo with bodytite on my upper, lower and flanks and a breast lift. 6 days to go!! I am nervous but I have waited so long I have to be comfortable with my decision. It's now or never! Updated on 30 Oct 2019: Hey y'all I have lurked in this website for a few years and I am booked for Sugery on 11/6! I am getting a breast lift, Lipo of upper abs, lower abs and flanks. My body has never been the same after having a child but things got progressively worse when I gained about 50 pounds in 2015. Needless to say I lost all the weight but I look terrible naked. Like Homer Simpson. To be honest recovery is scaring me. Not the Breast Lift but the Lipo. My other fear is that I won't be snatched. As I get closer and closer to the date I am a bundle of nerves! Updated on 30 Oct 2019: More Pics of my body before. It's amazing what you think you look like versus what you wanna actually look like. I am looking forward to a new me Summer 2020. I had my child young so I haven't worn a bikini since I was 19 and I am now in my mid 30's. Once healed that will be my first purchase! Updated on 5 Nov 2019: Well well well! Tomorrow is the day 7am sharp! I’m more excited than nervous. I am concerned about the incisions from the lipo and how much pain I will be in. I prepared as much as I could beforehand to assist with healing. I made salads, low sodium chilli and baked salmon. I am also going to drink a low carb smoothie everyday. I also have a plethora of supplements to assist me. Blood builder, Green Vibrance, Vitamin C, Magnesium, and joint supplements. The other items I bought were bone broth, and nuts. I want to maximize the healing process so that I can bounce back ASAP. It’s a local place that does lymphatic massages that I am going to make an appointment about two weeks after Sugery. Before bed tonight I will hope in the shower and again in the morning per doctors orders. Updated on 7 Nov 2019: I’m now post op day two. Day one wasn’t bad but I had lots of drainage which was to be expected. Nothing hurts it just feels sore similar to hard work out. My abs/ back is also stiff however I don’t regret my decision at all. From what I can see my breast are amazing! Updated on 7 Nov 2019: Went for my post op check up and everything was great!! Dr Colony and his staff are amazing! Attentive and caring. I would definitely recommend! Updated on 11 Nov 2019: Day 1-5 wasn’t bad I am just sore similar to a hard work out. My breast lift doesn’t bother me at all, it the lipo that has me sore. However, I can not hold my urine when I have to go and boy oh boy do I have to go! The other interesting aspect is that I would get headaches if I was nutritionally deficient since I was urinating so much. So I had to be sure I was taking enough vitamins. Updated on 17 Nov 2019: Today was the first day I was consipated. It was hell! I took some stool softeners right after and will continue to take them. Especially with the holidays coming up. My bandages will be removed on 11/21 and I hope to give you guys a full picture of the front. My waist is tiny and I can literally feel my skin contracting. I am so excited to see my results. I have to take some Motrin at work with lunch to deal with the soreness but other wise I’m ok. Updated on 12 Dec 2019: Hey just a couple of update pictures
So here is a super long diary review of my kybella experience. I have always had a small patch of fat under my chin, even when I was young and very thin. Last year, I went to a med spa for kybella or coolscultping and was instead pushed into ultherapy which was a massive waste of time and money. I have a review on that too. So after losing 20 pounds, my chin got better but it wasn’t back to where I was happy and I was starting to notice jowels forming. At this point I was resolved to do chin lipo, kybella, or something/anything. I went to several consultations before decided to go with Dr. Colony. He took time evaluating the structure of my face and where he would inject in order to get the results I was hoping for and he and his staff were also super nice and I felt like they really listened to me. He said I should only need one treatment of two vials because I didn’t have that much fat in the area. The Procedure - Day 0 I had read so many reviews beforehand and worked myself up expecting extreme pain like a ton of tetanus shots to the face. The nurse who took me back and set me up with ice was wonderful. She had the procedure herself about a month before and had really useful advice and calmed me down a lot. I iced my face for awhile and then the doctor came in and marked my face for the injections, then I went back to icing for several more minutes. He came back for the injections and worked very quickly; I would say it was over in 5 or 6 minutes. From what I could feel, he seemed to do a great job evenly distributing the two vials between my chin and the two sides of my jawline/jowels. After he finished, I continued icing and that’s when the pain and burning slowly creeped in. The nurse helped me put on my headgear and I drove home immediately. The pain lasted around 3 hours and afterwards was mostly sore. I would describe it initially as 50 tiny Mike Tysons punched my chin and jaw. Then it felt like 50 Mike Tyson bees stung me and it burned for awhile. After those first 3 hours things became much more manageable. Keep icing and wear the compression garment! Also, stock your house with soup because you will not want to chew anything. Day 1 The next morning I had a bit more swelling and my neck was sore like I had been lifting weights and straining my neck. I didn't have trouble swallowing, but it felt sore when I did. My biggest mistake so far was not grocery shopping before the procedure! I had to go out in public with my jiggly jowels to get soup, yogurt, and other soft foods. Basically expect to recover with foods you would eat after getting your wisdom teeth removed. Seriously, the jiggle is real! It feels so bizarre. It’s like all of the swelling in your face is mashed up jello going nuts in there. So weird. After the first 30 hours I started to get more range in motion back. I had resolved to eat only healthy, anti-inflammability foods during recovery, but I broke down and went to Taco Bell the second day. So unfortunately I can’t give any feedback on that. Sometimes you just need to run for the border. Day 2 More improvements this morning in terms of my neck pain. I’m using arnica gel and I’m supposed to start gentle massaging today. My chin area is completely numb, while I’m still a bit tender in the neck. I’m still quite swollen but nothing terrible. Day 3 Feeling even better today. No more pain and only minor discomfort in the jaw. Still puffy of course, but not as bad as I had anticipated. This is the last day I have to wear the compression head gear all day and I’ll switch to just overnight for the next week. One Week After Swelling has subsided a lot, but still pretty puffy, tender, and numb. I don’t think other people notice the swelling, but of course I do. I’m massaging the chin, jaw, and neck as instructed. I don’t find it terribly helpful, but I’m keeping it up. Two Weeks I’m more or less back to baseline, finally! Still numb in the chin, but hardly any tenderness left. There is a weird tightness in my chin when I look up, which a lot of others have written about too. Six Weeks Starting to see results! Chin is still numb, which is super weird, but I've gotten used to it. I had my follow up appointment and Dr. Colony reminded me to keep massaging, which I had bailed on recently. Nine Weeks Holy crap, the results on the left side of my face are amazing! Of course this was my "good side" before, but I'm so happy that now it's my awesome side! Unfortunately the right side "bad side" isn't as dramatic, but I do see subtle improvements. I know this is something that will continue to work it's magic over the coming weeks, so I'll post updates if I notice more changes. I'll probably go in for another vial and focus on my right side the next time I have $700 laying around. Updated on 19 Aug 2019: Updated on 19 Aug 2019:
Day by day recovery... wondering how’s it looking? Always been self-conscious of this area and finally decided to go thru with the labiaplasty. Still in my first week post-op and frustrated with how slowly the healing process is. Can’t do much at all. Using pads with vasoline and antibiotic ointment and compression shorts. Updated on 30 May 2018: Things have been healing wonderfully. Still wearing a pad with Vaseline on it during the day but sometimes I forgot I even had anything done. Swelling is still there but things are already much smaller than they used to be. And from what I understand, the little bumps are from where sutures meet and will disappear with time also. Updated on 5 Jun 2018: I only take a shower in the morning at night and just thoroughly clean the area. Still using gentle baby soap. I am back to wearing normal underwear and thongs with no discomfort. I skipped my first period post op with my birth control because I didn’t want to deal with it, but I think I will be fine to wear a tampon when it starts next. Just visited the doctor yesterday and he said I’m healing up nicely. I am still waiting for a few internal stitches to dissolve. I think that is what the little bump on the right side of my clitoris is. (Has anyone else experienced these bumps?) I am happy with my progress so far and the fact that I am still seeing changes and improvements everyday makes me hopeful for my next 3 weeks of healing. I feel much more “tucked away” now.
Consultation went better than I expected. I have over 16 years experience in health care ranging from clinics to in hospitals. All staff were courteous, friendly yet professional. I found Dr. Conoly to be realistic, detail oriented, and respectful. His approach is for helping patients solve their self-image problems together, and not for profiting from pushing extra unnecessary procedures. I was able to ask a lot of questions without feeling rushed, and when I decided to ask about an additional procedure he didn't mind spending extra time discussing options for that too. I felt happy with his professional opinions and with the final plan we came up with together. It's important to me, having worked in the OR with surgeons before, to feel confident about my care and body. After today's visit, I spent time on this site reading reviews, and I'm even more confident that I will schedule with Dr. Conoly, and likely use him for future needs too if all goes well. Sarah was helpful too with choosing the right size implant for my small frame, and understood that I wish to look more natural than over the top. Updates to follow, as my journey has just gotten started!
I've been considering a breast lift since I was 17 years old, and I finally went through with it! Currently on the mend, but I'm very happy with what I see so far. Pain isn't bad, especially with prescribed norco (although I'm only on ibuprofen at the moment). More sore than anything. Will update with more pics as I heal! Updated on 10 Nov 2017: Sorry for no side pic, it’s hard to take a picture of your own breasts! Wow, I? can’t express how happy I? am with my results, the picture doesn’t do them justice. I? am so much more confident, clothes fit easier, and I? don’t have to worry about wearing uncomfortable underwire bras every day. This surgery was so worth it! This was my first major surgery, and I? was really surprised with how quick recovery was. I? only took pain medication for 4 days or so, and after a week I? was totally fine to return to daily activities (with no heavy lifting, of course). Nipple sensitivity (which was minimal) subsided after 2 months or so, and the only pain I? feel currently is strain on my stitches if my breast is situated wrong. As for the staff at Dr. Colony’s office, they have been nothing but amazing! Dr. Colony handled the situation from my previous review very professionally, and said it was out of character for the individual involved. I? trust him, and I? will return here for any other plastic surgery needs. The receptionist staff is so friendly and even remembered my name for my last appointment! Love the atmosphere and short wait times at the office, and I? couldn’t recommend Dr. Colony enough. Updated on 14 Apr 2019: Here are my boobs almost 2 years after my breast lift! I was 20 years old when I had my surgery, and I’m currently 22. I was also featured on my doc’s before and after pictures, I’m famous now! ???? The b/a picture taken at Dr. Colony’s office was 3 months (I think?) after my surgery. They were still a bit swollen and settling in, which is why they’re more full on top. The other 3 pics are my fully healed, settled in boobs. I’ve lost some weight since my surgery, so they’re less “full” but they don’t feel/look saggy. I love how natural they are! If you look closely you can see my right breast is a tiny bit less perky than my left, and the scar below my nipple is more visible. I have fibrous cysts that come and go in my right breast, which makes it larger than my left when they’re present (I don’t have a cyst currently in these photos). This is why it’s settled differently, nothing to do with the surgery. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to have surgery, and my results! I used to wear sturdy bras with thick underwires and straps to hoist my girls up, now I wear bralettes most days which is way more comfortable. I can buy any shirt I’d like (ex. open-back tops) without worrying if my bra will be visible! My fiancée also loves them, and I feel way more confident. These benefits plus the minimal pain and downtime following surgery made my breast lift 100% worth it. Dr. Colony is an excellent surgeon and was very professional and comforting. His staff was amazing, except for the person who gave me my IV pre-op (see my prior review about that). Even then, Dr. Colony mentioned my review on here at my follow up appointment and addressed the situation, assuring me it had never been an issue before and the staff member in question was talked to. He handled it perfectly, and it showed how much he cares about his patients. Love my [RS bleep], love Dr. Colony’s office, I couldn’t recommend this procedure enough!!
I had my tummy tuck with mr two years ago and have been extremely happy with my results. So I decided to have a breast lift done and of course done by the same wonderful doctor! I am now 4 weeks and 2 days po and am loving them! I'm very happy with my decision. I haven't had any major issues just a lot of bruising and for a couple weeks I felt like I had implants but it was just swelling. I'm very happy with the symmetry of them and the size and placement of my nipples. I don't have any complaints so far.
A standard guideline for our Tummy Tuck post-op compression support is 6 weeks. Some patients with persistent swelling may benefit from prolonged compression garment support. It is imperative that the support fits smoothly to avoid any ridges or dents after a Tummy Tuck.
Health insurance companies have very stringent criteria related to abdominoplasty and insurance authorization can be requested but is seldom granted.
Recovery can vary depending on the type of Tummy Tuck performed and patient comfort. The first couple of days can be challenging and help at home is needed. Drinking lots of fluids prevents dehydration. Most patients will be able to resume driving within 10 days. No athletic activities for 3 weeks. Most people can resume normal activities within 6 weeks.
It is easy for an experienced Board Ceritifed Plastic Surgeon to determine the difference between fat and loose skin. On examination of the area(s) the amount of localized fat coupled with skin laxity helps determine which procedures to recommend.
Laser hair removal only treats actively growing hair. The length of time between treatments will vary depending on the individual and the area treated. Facial hair generally grows more quickly than hair on the body. Based on this you can expect the time between treatments to be approximately 4-10 weeks. Make sure to consult with a certified technician.
