Dr. Kurtzman is by far then nicest man ever. From the moment I met him and his staff I knew this was the right surgeon for me. Everyone there made me so comfortable and at home, like they had known me forever. He explained my opinions and what would work best for my body and he was so right. I book surgery with him For 2 weeks later. I was and forever will be so confident in him his staff and his work. I got a full tummy tuck muscle repair liposuction to the flanks and hips. He even came in my room after surgery to check on me, and usually surgeons don’t do that but he did he wiped my face told the nurse to get my pain under control told me I would be ok and I was put as ease by this. He has checked on me through out all of this and his staff personally and I couldn’t have asked for more. I feel like a new woman and I love my new body all thanks goes to him. I highly recommend Dr. Kurtzman.
Prior to meeting Dr Kurtzman I had consultations with 5 other surgeons. Every single time I walked out feeling like I needed to keep looking and keep researching, and then I found Kurtzman Plastic Surgery. The second I walked out of his office for the first time I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt I had found the best. I had never been so at ease. I literally cannot think of a single word to describe Dr Kurtzman and his staff other than perfection. They go above and beyond in every single aspect of their work. From the second you walk in the door for the first time you are greeted with a warm smile and a genuine gracious attitude. They learn your name and remember it because to these ladies you are more than “just a number”. The bedside manner shown by the staff and Dr Kurtzman himself is astounding and something most doctors are severely lacking these days. He is knowledgeable beyond belief but he has the ability to speak and explain things in a way that you understand without making you feel less than. His consultations are thorough and well rounded and you can bet your bottom dollar that what he says is exactly what you will get. After my surgery they called to check on me (well after business hours) and make sure I was doing ok. They made it clear that I was to call with ANY and all concerns at anytime day or night and that they were there to help me through my recovery process. They are the epitome of what excellent customer service should be. I have witnessed nothing but excellent and genuine care, a personal relationship with their patients and a love for what they do. I drive over an hour every time I go to his office and will continue to do so because I refuse to accept anything but the absolute best and in plastic surgery that is Dr Kurtzman and his amazing staff.
I must say, I am probably a surgeon's nightmare-- at least that is how I was always treated. My situation may vary from most. I am a post gastric bypass patient. I have lost a tremendous amount of weight and had a corrective procedure and hernia repairs from a Dr. I had to fly to three times in Dallas and still felt like crap. All of you out there wondering about surgery with Dr. Kurtzman--please put your fears to rest. I consider myself blessed to even be alive..thanks to this man. Dramatic? Maybe, but it is true. Unless you experience DDD breasts on a medium frame that sag almost to the nipple hitting your belly, and you have an apron of fat hanging on your stomach, you do not know the depression and the issues you go through daily. Until you have duct taped your stomach to make it look smaller (not a good idea!) or had your shoulders bleed from straps cutting into them, you cant understand how cosmetic surgery can improve your life- mentally and physically. The price I listed above does include a tummy tuck and all follow up visits to this wonderful doctor. He took breasts that looked like udders and made them smaller, perky and attractive. Not to mention the comfort of daily life. I am proud to have this "work of art" proudly displayed on my chest daily. I wake up happy and cant wait to shop for shirts that button! The tummy tuck -- well, my belly button was crooked before-- like two inches off, and it was just gross to look at me from the neck to the pubic bone. Not now. I am a little swollen, but look so good. Scarring? visible, but it is going to fade away and really? Who cares about a line across your tummy? A line or a fat roll? I know what I chose. I could go on for a lot longer, but people will tend not to read a log post and I want Dr. Kurtzman and his amazing staff to get the recognition they deserve. He is so calm, patient and caring. He never interrupts you and instantly, you have a trust in him. He also does so many charitable things for the betterment of the others that are not as fortunate. This is a superior surgeon, but what is a plus is that he is a good PERSON. I have little discomfort, he fixed the hernias that were supposed to already have been fixed and he is no nonsense-- The staff...no words can describe them. Ask yourself when was the last time you walked into a place for any service and people came from behind the desk to hug you, or you hear laughter and they put you at ease. From financing to scheduling to the nurses that assist you- Dr Kurtzman and his staff are an experience you should take advantage of. You almost look forward to going to see them. No one is perfect, the saying goes, but these people are damn near close. Professional, encouraging and kind. DO this for yourself- you deserve it. Thank you to the staff and mostly to the man who put humpty dumpty together again:)
Dr. Lawrence Kurtzman did a wonderful job! There was literally zero bruising. His bedside manner is impeccable!!! He made me feel comfortable from the first time I met him. He takes time to listen and answer all of my questions at each pre and post op visit. I am 3+ weeks post-op, and so far the recovery has been about what I had expected. His nurse practitioner, Tammy, is amazing!!! She answered all of my questions and has provided reassurance every step of the way. She makes herself available, responds very promptly and goes above and beyond! I had many more questions post-op than I anticipated, yet Tammy is always willing to listen, provide sound advice, encouragement and anticipated many of my needs. Though I am still getting used to my new breasts, I am happy that I made this decision and that I shopped around until I found a wonderful surgeon and NP that I was comfortable with. They truly have made this a great experience!!!
I went to Dr. Kurtzman for an inverted nipple repair surgery which is supposed to be a relatively minor in office procedure. This procedure is listed on the Kurtzman Plastic Surgery website so I trusted that Dr. Kurtzman knew how to correctly do the procedure. What happened to me has been a nightmare. My nipples were dark purple after the procedure and they eventually turned black and scabby and fell off. I was left with areolas with no nipples which was caused by necrosis. How does that happen with a simple inverted nipple repair? I’m addition to necrosis, a couple of days after the procedure I had an infection in the area of both nipples. Dr. Kurtzman acted as if there was nothing wrong even after seeing pictures of how my nipples looked like black scabs. One nipple looked as if it had been sewn together. I was horrified and didn’t know what to do as every time I contacted Kurtzman Plastic surgery I was led to believe that nothing was wrong but I knew better. At a follow up appointment a week after surgery (that was only scheduled because I kept calling about the concerns) one nipple was no longer visible and I asked Dr. Kurtzman was it still there and he said that it was, even though it really was not. I had an infection bilaterally at this time and the area was not cleaned or dressed at this appointment and I was not informed that the black scabby appearance was necrosis. I had to ask for gauze pads. I knew at that point I had to seek proper care elsewhere. I self referred to a wound care center where they told me that it was necrosis and helped properly heal the area where my nipples used to be. I’ve since gotten reconstructive surgery elsewhere that involved a skin graft because I was so devastated by the appearance of the damage that was done. I’m also in the process of getting medical tattooing to restore color in the areola that was lost from the reconstructive surgery. All I wanted was to get inverted nipples that I’d been embarrassed about for years to look and function normally and I paid to end up with no nipples. My experience has been extremely traumatic and the fact that I was not given an apology, acknowledgment that something went wrong, or offered a refund is deplorable. Updated on 13 Mar 2025: The procedure name was wrong in my medical chart. It was listed as nipple reduction instead of inverted nipple repair. Several years later I’m still dealing with the psychological effects of losing both of my nipples and accepting that they will never look “normal”, not to mention the financial aspects, as I spent thousands of dollars on the nipple reconstruction surgery including travel costs as it was out of state and required multiple trips across the country.
Let me start off by saying this is my first negative review, ever. Dr Kurtzman performed a chin implant procedure on me. I was so excited to get the surgery done, that after it was completed, I did not bother to thoroughly examine the implant positioning because it looked better than it did before. I finally had a decent size chin and Dr. Kurtzman said the implant was fine! Now 4 years later, I started to feel my chin implant poking through my gums (below my teeth) and causing numbness/pain in my lips. I scheduled an apt with Dr Kurtzman, and my mom came to support me. We drove 2 hours from Columbus to only be spoken with for 10 minutes. Dr. Kurtzman said the implant was fine and that it cannot be fixed, as it is 'complicated'. He also told me it is 'impossible' for the implant to move/shift and that my face was already asymmetrical. He did not take after pictures of the procedure and wanted me to prove to him the implant shifted. It was clear he did not want to take responsibility or fix the implant, although I was willing to pay for him to fix his mistake. He wrote me an Rx for a chin xray to get 'proof'. I got the xray, although the lab had no clue why he would request an xray and not a CT scan. My orthodontist did a CT scan, which showed the implant sitting on the side of my face right over top of my mental nerve. I then sent the xray and CT scan to Dr. Kurtzman. I never received an email or call back, even after sending several emails and calling the office. I knew at this point I would not trust Dr. Kurtzman to ever operate on me again. I had been through so much already, and the fact Dr. Kurzman did not even care about my situation or that he screwed up and could cause me permanent nerve damage, blows my mind. I decided to research facial plastic surgeons in Columbus and found one willing to take on my case. He was shocked that the pocket created for my implant was way too big and way too high, which caused my implant to shift up to one side, which he believes happened right after surgery. He had never seen anything like it before. The new surgeon was able to take the old implant out, which he confirmed had completely migrated to the side of my face right on top of my mental nerve. He put in a new implant with wings, which was the correct shape for my face, unlike the implant Dr Kurtzman put in. The new implant looks amazing and was 1/4 of the price Dr Kurtzman charged me! So glad I went to get a second opinion and found a surgeon who actually cared about his work. I do not recommend Dr. Kurtzman, as he only cares about the money. Lesson learned!
I got butt implants years ago and the original surgeon, Dr. Kurtzman, ruined me. After that I had to find another surgeon to try to fix my butt. I got an implant revision and Lipo from my flanks with the fat injected into my butt with Dr. Grawe. It was great, she was and is amazing, but I ultimatly decided that I just hate them. I hated how awful they felt. I got my implants removed and it feels fantastic. When I was researching this before having the removal procedure done I couldn't find any pics of ppl who have had this done and I hated it! So I want to post pics of what my butt looked like the day I got them removed and I hope others find comfort in this. I have posted photos of my before with implants and my after without them. Updated on 5 Sep 2016: I got my implants removed 5/2016. I've been asked what my butt looks like now. I took these pictures today. My god given butt did not look like this. I was flat as a board. This is the result of having fat injected into my butt during my second surgery to attempt to make the implants look better. A lot of the fat lived and that's what is giving me some projection now that my implants are gone.
