Recurrence of urinary stress incontinence was my motivation to seek treatment. I’ve read good reviews following the series of 6 treatments in 3 weeks time frame for best results. By the 5th and 6th I noticed increased tightness vaginally— to be point that by the 5th and 6th tx, I felt aroused during my procedure. There was nothing easier for me— just sit and read a magazine for 28 minutes! 5 wks post procedures : my husband noticed how much tighter I am , which is a bonus— since I had procedures for resolution of my USI !!
Well I'll start by saying I'm 61y/o, and I never thought I'd ever have elective procedure of my lady bits. My husband of 35 yrs had no complaints of the appearance of my vaginal area. However, 3 yrs ago I became involved w competitive swimming, joined 2 Teams, a Masters and a Senior Olympic training swim team, went to Nationals in 2015, great experience. But because of the rather form Fitting competitive compression swim suits-- the hypertrophied lt labia minora became problematic, had to constantly make suit adjustments to retuck into my labia majoras. Decided I would have it trimmed down--- always had this issue, now is more noticeable in my swimsuits-- which I'm in 8 hrs or more per week during competition season. Time to take care of and heal prior to this training season. I'm embarrassed to say anything to my friends, they'll think I've lost it! I'm thankful for this site Updated on 15 Feb 2016: Received all my pre-procedure information. Have my Tucks and Dermaplast Spray. Still all nerved up for this more than any of my other elective procedures (TT/BL) . Let you know how things worked out. Updated on 16 Feb 2016: 3 hrs post op , still numb, feeling that itch , tingling sensation, as the local wears off. Took 2 Norco as instructed by my dr. Had a blood vessel spray all over my dr during procedure. Glad he ligated the bleeder there-- if it didn't let loose there- could've let loose at home -- which would've meant a trip to the hospital. Otherwise, everything went well. Updated on 17 Feb 2016: During the night, I woke up about 2a with throbbing pain, took 2 Norco refreshed ice pack and fell back asleep. Not too much swelling, some bloody drainage, wearing a pad for oozing. This morning, I felt pretty good, sore to sit, guess I need a donut?? My dr called to check on me, I gave him the update, felt good enough to keep my 6 wk postop TT appt w my PS. Icing frequent to keep swelling down. Updated on 18 Feb 2016: There's still a lot of swelling from my liposuction of Mons -6 wks ago with my LBL. Area tender and sensitive, difficult to sit, have to sit sideways. Not requiring any narcotics. Tylenol occasionally Updated on 19 Feb 2016: Don't miss all that "hangage"! Day 3 noticed a very swollen and sensitive clitoris. No pain, sitting still a problem. Using my small neck pillow, thanks to suggestion of my fellow labiaplasty gal pal-- it's working out well. Updated on 21 Feb 2016: Clitoris very swollen, sensitive. Notice suture sticking straight out of that area, it's attached to clitoris, when I pull on it. Not too painful, more of an Annoyance . Does this appear normal? Updated on 23 Feb 2016: Saw my doctor, he trimmed my sutures back, to lessen itchiness. The issue of my clitiris-- I had discussed w my doctor about what he could do to increase sensitivity to my clitoris-- and at the time he said he could take care of that too- so , silly me, I forgot that conversation-- and hence my surprise clitoral hood reduction. I'm pleased that he took care of that for me., also. Updated on 28 Feb 2016: Let the itching begin ! tenderness is gone and it appears that the incision is closed and most of suture knots have fallen off. Still a suture on top of the clitoral glans-- itchy , sensitive,in a good way-- not uncomfortable. Going back to work tomorrow . Next post op visit at 3 wks postop Updated on 17 Mar 2016: Other than an expected slight discomfort with intercourse, my results are amazing, my sensitivity and orgasms are so much stronger and longer, from my unhooded clitoris glans. Still getting used to the increase in sensitivity with my clothing, feeling aroused all the time-- hope this gets better, but it sure is good from keeping me in a bad mood at work! Being post menopausal, there are many noticeable changes in my body. The vagina is especially hard hit, had I known the repercussions , I would've chosen to take estrogen replacement . Updated on 17 Dec 2015: OMG!! What more can I say? My life and relationship with my husband is so enhanced by the wonderful outcome from Thermiva treatments. I just had my third and final procedure. I will be having touch up procedure every 9 to12 months. Let's start with the fact that I had a hysterectomy and removal of left tube and ovary when I was 39 ( for severe endometriosis) . Updated on 2 Feb 2016: I've been trying to figure out where this forceful orgasmic spray is coming from, But I don't think it's vaginal, now--I believe that the spray/squirt comes from an area near my urethral opening. It is not urine, and it doesn't feel like I'm emptying my bladder. The escalating urethral pressure that peaks prior to the release of this substance, is extremely pleasurable orgasm, equal to my clitoral orgasm, which sometimes occurs simultaneously, or within a minute or so after ejaculate. My bladder is always emptied prior to coitus. Also the quality of this new orgasm increases over time. Anyone else experience this after ThermiVa? As in previous posts, I choose to have a maintenance treatment every 6 months-- no way I'm going to regress w the progress I have acquired w his new sexual me. I've "rebooted " the old way that I focused on intimacy and resolution of love making-- clitoral orgasms are not my focus, yes they are enjoyable, but not the preferred, now. My connection to my partner, is deeper with emotional intensity. I've come to embrace this newly found pleasure, and my sexual connection is not a 5-10 min hurried intimacy of he old me. At first everything seemed good went in for vaginoplasty and a perineal plasty surgery went well really no pain afterwards but after the swelling everything went down still was not tight enough went back to the physician he said that he was not going to do a revision that he wasn't sure if it would be more effective after speaking with several other doctors on this website he didn't do any of the things that they would have done like one take measurements of my partner and I were to make my vaginal Canal smaller and refuse to do a revision now I have to go somewhere else to get a revision to have it done the way it should have been done in the first place now I have to spend more money and go have a revision and not happy
Before I had surgery I was embarrassed sometimes of the way I looked and uncomfortable in my clothes. It didn’t stop me from having great sex. NOW, I am mortified of the way I look and will never have sex again. I think I look mutilated and he cut off so much that I don’t have a good sexual response and cannot orgasm. Think about that! Nothing looks normal or natural to me . Hideous. I describe his work as sloppy; careless. Another doctor said he did an “almost complete removal.” That’s not what I asked for!! My sex life is over. No dates, no boyfriends, no husband, no relationships and NO SEX. This is my worst nightmare. I wish I never met Dr Berenholz or trusted that he was good just because he said he is. He is not a plastic surgeon and who he said he’s mentored with does not replace that qualification. I vetted him properly after my surgery. I think he’s despicable. I blame myself for going to him. Sick. I am disgusted that he’s allowed to touch women. I wouldn’t let him touch me again if I was dying. When I told him I thought he was a terrible person and doctor he threatened to sue me. Needless to say, I don’t think he cared about me as a person or how his bad work would effect my life. He made money; my life was devasted.
This doctor and his staff are not professionals. From the moment I walked in to the minute after I left the surgical center I had doubts. I should have taken those doubts seriouslly and went with my instincts. I have posted a question on this board so other PS can answer my concerns. I hope there is going to be a way this can be fixed.
I had surgery on my labia majora and labia minor to reduce them both in size. I am still having moderate discomfort and some pain that is usually taken care of with tylenol. At this point I am not sure what to expect. Today is day 6 of post op, and there is still quite a bit of swelling. Especially on one side of my vagina. There is a little 'hard ball like' structure on my left labia minora, and I a praying it will go away. I am wondering if this is common or if anyone else has had this problem?
