I have seen Dr. Freed and his team for two surgeries now and could not be happier with my results!! I had a breast reduction in Aug 2022 after exploring multiple Drs I knew that Dr Freed was right for me. My results are incredible and I am now free from back pain!! Then I underwent a tummy tuck in Feb 2023 and again the results are beyond what I ever imagined!! The staff is so welcoming, so kind, patient with all my questions and so helpful! I love the staff here so much! I was so nervous but met with Jamie for my first consult, she immediately makes you feel comfortable and answered every question I had. They had a cancellation and I was able to book for a March appt in December! Two weeks before my surgery I met with Dr Freed who helped me pick a size and explain what he will be doing, etc. the day of the appt I had the most amazing nurse! Recovery was a breeze for me and any questions I might have had they were there to answer. I highly recommend Dr Freed and his staff! As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.
Love Dr.Freed and staff, very friendly. Had my surgery and one week later, I pulled my self up I n to my lifted truck (something I was NOT supposed to do) I had just forgot and did it. And after I pulled the door shut, I felt something instantly wrong. It hurt so bad. By the time I got home, 5 minutes later. My breast started to leave a bruise, and I was still in pain. So I called the office, but Dr.Freed was in surgery. Thankfully my friend worked there, so I called told her what happen and this was on a Friday. So she had me take pictures of it, and told me what to do. By one hour it was bruising more and more a swelling up. So I sent my friend more pictures, she was sending them to the doctor this went on all weekend me texting her sending pics, and her sending them to the doctor. She kept making sure I was doing ok the hole time, ended up going in to see Dr.Freed that Monday morning. And said I can’t do anything, I just need it to heel, He kept having me come back to see him once or twice a week checking on my breast. Very bruised and swollen still, we had to wait for a couple of months to see if the swelling would go down and the bruising going away. And my implant was way up high on my chest, so he wanted to see if it would go down while it was hilling. If it didn’t after two months I was going to have to go back under and take the implant out clean it all up and get all the scare tissue out (which was why my implant stayed up like that as it healed ) and then he put it back in. He was so nice about everything, all the extra appointments and the second surgery, no charge. The staff was awesome, especially my friend and Dr.Freed. Now 6 months later, all better and look good. My left one is still healing a little but way better. Updated on 21 Sep 2021: Before n after pictures, first surgery then the second one on the left boob. An how they look now, 8 months later. At first I was not seen any difference (After I was healing from both surgery's) I do now!
Dr. Freed listen closely to my goals. He did not rush me or try to persuade my decisions. He took time to explain options and procedures. I’m very, very happy with the results!! The staff have all worked for him 10+ years so that was a positive. The client service was warm, welcoming and very organized. I had such a positive experience that I was confident in referring friends and family. Great, great, great
I’ve decided to write a whole other review to discuss my implant complications since they’ve definitely turned into its own story... I went in for a thigh and arm lift on April 9th, when my PS found out that my left silicone implant had ruptured. When I awoke from my surgery he told me what he found and let me know that he replaced the implant. Not a big deal really and I was glad that he found it because I had no idea. He told me it was under warranty and that meant I would get about $3000 back. Fast forward four weeks, everything seemed to be healing nicely, but then I noticed an opening on my left breast where there was clearly a hole, meaning my implant was exposed. I was in office the very next morning and got stitches. Again, everything seemed to be healing nicely until three weeks later I awoke to the whole bottom of my left breast red, swollen, and hot. I knew it was infection. The same day, I started antibiotics. On June 3rd, I noticed a few spots on my breast that appeared to be see through, but were not open. My PS had me come in next morning to have a skin transfer from underneath my breast. He cut a small piece under the breast fold and twisted it up and sutured it to the bottom of my breast, essentially covering the area with the thin see through spots. My PS was very supportive and had me coming in every few days to check on my incision. The sutures are obnoxious and uncomfortable. I noticed a sort of rash a couple days ago and consulted my PS, but he said new tissue was moving in and we just have to stay the course til we’re in the clear. We had high hopes that another exposure wouldn’t happen, but now today, sadly.... there are several spots of implant exposure. To say I’m devastated is an understatement, because I know exactly what another exposure means..... it means the implant needs to be removed completely and I will be without a breast for some time. I am now scheduled to have the implant removed on Tuesday. As a woman, knowing that I have to spend any extended amount of time with only one breast is a lot to take in. My breasts are a big part of my womanhood, as well as my appearance. I have so many thoughts running through my mind. It will be very noticeable as my implants are large, 800cc. I will have to go the whole summer with only one breast..... and as much as I should be happy that it’s only temporary, I can’t help but be super depressed about it. I know I have to put on my big girl panties and deal with this like a strong woman, but I’m still sad about it. I will follow up after the implant removal on Tuesday. Updated on 27 Jun 2019: I had the implant removed on Tuesday 6/25. I had to keep a bra on just so the implant hold not completely fall out of my breast.... now it’s a waiting game to see how long healing takes. Feeling extremely depressed bout the whole situation.
I’m One week post op from arm lift & thigh lift. Looking back, I’d definitely recommend doing these surgeries separately if you can. I am on a time crunch from work so I chose to do them the same time.... which of course makes for a more difficult heal, but what I needed for my limited schedule. The first five days my thighs were the more painful areas, especially the incisions in the groin area. Thankfully they let me take the catheter home otherwise I would have definitely peed myself multiple times. I had a hard enough time getting into a sitting position, let alone standing... and even on day three, it was incredibly hard to sit on the toilet. You can’t even get your legs far enough apart to not pee all over yourself or your compression garment, I learned this the hard way. I recommend buying a female urinal or the ‘go girl’ so you can stand peeing. I wish someone would have told me to get one before hand. I’ll be recommending my surgeon add it to his aftercare instructions. This is my sixth surgery, after breast lift / augmentation, vertical/horizontal tummy tuck, and revision.... and this is by far the most painful one. The pain seems to jump from one place to another. Moving on my own isn’t even possible.... and there’s no bending my elbows past a 45° angle, so I can’t even feed myself. Even given the swelling and how bad incisions always look right after surgery... I’m pleased so far. While doing my surgery, my surgeon ending up finding out that my left silicone implant had ruptured (only two yrs out from augmentation) which was a huge surprise. He had to clean out the whole breast pocket and replace the implant. He also removed some extra skin under my breasts and along my side. Typically your brachioplasty incision ends in your armpit, however mine both go continuous from my elbow through my armpit (removing sweat glands) around my breast-removing excess side skin and under my breasts up to my aureoles. I literally have about 9’ of incisions. At one week I seem to be over the hump. I can get up by myself, get on/off the toilet by myself.... just still need help getting the compression pants. I will update as I heal :) Updated on 18 Apr 2019: Photos update Updated on 9 May 2019: So I’m 4weeks out and although the two openings on my inner thighs have closed and healed nicely, I have had a few complications. My right breast incision opened up about two weeks ago..... which is pretty common, and I was set up with wound care. No big deal. Last Monday I was put on Antibiotics since the tissue around my breast opening and as well as my lower thigh incision appeared to have signs of infection. The ends of my incisions on my knees are painful, red, and angry. My breast opening was healing, but also growing. One opening had turned into two and I was scheduled to have it sutured back up this coming Monday. However, last night when I changed my dressings, I noticed an opening on my left breast and this one was much different.... I could see my implant. I was devastated, as I know an exposed implant can turn into bad news real quick. I sent photos to my PS and went into his office this morning, where he sutured the exposed implant and my right breast’s two openings. I’m happy I didn’t have to go back in for surgery, but now I’m super anxious because I don’t want the sutures to re-open. I’m 4weeks and 2days post op and my PS was pretty adamant on waiting til 5weeks. He says the skin is strong enough to hold the new sutures and it has a low chance of re-opening..... but we all over think it, don’t we? Hoping to heal up soon..... this is fairly annoying. Updated on 9 May 2019: Scan came off of the T junction, and exposed implant. PS sutured back up today. Will post sutured photos later... Updated on 31 May 2019: May 9th (4weeks post op) I ended up with an exposed implant on my left breast and had a continuing medium size superficial opening on my right breast, which needed to be sutured closed. The exposed opening was fairly small at about 1/3”. It’s been 3.5 weeks since then and I still have the sutures in, which are incredibly annoying, uncomfortable and obnoxious, but the tissue has been healing nicely, just slowly. Everything was on the up and up, looking great..... but then while visiting Texas, I woke up on Memorial Day for our early morning flight to notice the whole lower section of my left breast to be red, hot, and swollen. I know what that means..... infection. Right when I thought everything was going good too. No pain, just redness, hot and swollen and noticeably harder than my right side. Now my left breast is the side that was found to have a ruptured mentor silicone implant, removed, cleaned and replaced with a new implant on April 9th. Then small opening with implant exposure on May 9..... so the fact I ended up with an infection is somewhat expected. I contacted my surgeon and he called me in an antibiotic prescription had me come into the office the next morning, by then of course now pain is accompanying the other symptoms.... plus now the left breast is noticeably larger than the right. When I go to see him, the redness has subsided after 4 doses of oral antibiotic, but the pain is getting more annoying, even affecting my left arm. He has me take an extra dose of my antibiotic and says to check in in four hours. When I checked in and told him no changes, except the redness had returned, he scheduled me to come in next morning to have a drain put in. When he inserts the drain, we’re both happy to see a clear liquid, no gross yellow/green pus, and he informs me that this is the best bet to try and save the implant and hopefully not have to go in and replace it and clean out the whole pocket. I’ve had the drain for three days now, and I’m over it.... but I know it’s necessary. Hopefully it can be removed on Monday, along with the remaining sutures. I’m just tired of the issues.... I know it will heal, but it’s getting old. Will update soon! Updated on 4 Jun 2019: This is progression of when my PS sutured closed the exposed implant on my left breast and closed the superficial opening on right breast. I ended up with an infection in my left breast three weeks after exposure was sutured. Updated on 4 Jun 2019: I had the drain removed on my left breast yesterday but returned today because of two spots that seemed see through. My PS informed me that the bacteria from the infection dissolves tissue and we needed to act quickly before we ended up with another implant exposure. Today he cut a section from my rib/stomach and flipped it up to cover the thinned area. I’m so tired of the healing.... feeling depressed and discouraged, even though I know it will eventually heal. I am stressing and having major anxiety with the fear of ending up having to remove the implant and having to heal it for months with only one implant. Hoping for the best at this point....
Step two, tummy tuck. After losing 165lbs thanks to a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in 2013. After consulting with Dr. Freed, we decided a both Vertical and Horizontal yummy tuck was needed. Aka Fluer D’ lie tummy tuck or Anchor tummy tuck. I also chose to have lipo on my inner thighs and have that fat transferred to my butt, for a more even appearance. When I got out of surgery I was in love with my tummy. The tightening of the bro I always muscles was the worst pain, but the lipo stayed sore for longer. The lipo on the thighs was essentially preparation for my future thigh lift. I also opted for no belly button, and happy I did. After four months, I chose to have a revision on my tummy tuck because I felt that more skin could be removed, and I’m happy I did.... But I did end up 6 days op with a nasty abdominal wall infection that hospitalized me for 7 days. Totally at no fault of my surgeon. Infection is always a risk when opening any body cavity. Still very pleased with my results now over 1 yr post op.
At my highest weight, I was 327.7 lbs. in February of 2013 I went to Mexico and had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. February of 2017 I began my journey to get my body where my mind was. First priority was my breasts. At my highest weight, I was a 44H, and after breast feeding two kids and losing 165lbs, you can imagine the mess my body was at. My breasts were deflated and my nipples pointed to the floor. They would fall out of my bra if I leaned over and I absolutely hated looking at myself in the mirror, let alone let my husband see me naked. I went to two different offices for consults and chose to go with Dr. Freed in Auburn CA. The office was beautiful and inviting, and the staff were all so amazing. I felt extremely comfortable with m decision. I chose to get large 800cc silicone implants along with a breast lift. When I first came out of surgery, they looked awful, just as I was informed from this site, but of course they settled down and now look natural and perky. My left breast did drop a little more than my right breast and I decided to have a revision to make them more visibly even.i have chosen to stay with Dr. Freed for all my future surgeries. Updated on 5 Apr 2019: Here is a photo of 1 yr post op as my breasts look very natural but still perky :) I am extremely happy with my breasts now. I do not need to wear bras and no one knows that they are implants because they are soft and have that natural tear drop shape.
I came to Dr. Freed looking to increase my breast size. I am 5'9 and weigh 130lbs, and did not have much breast fat to work with. I wanted full C/small Ds that looked natural and didn't give me a huge gap in between my breasts. He did an amazing job of giving me the full, natural look that fits my frame perfectly. Everyone in his office is amazing and friendly. My check ups went smoothly and I had zero complications. Freed is great! I am so happy with my new breasts!
I had 72 lipomas removed from several places on my body. This is the third time in 5 years. The first surgery by a Plastic Surgeon., 45 lumps were removed. 2 years later, I had 77 removed by a different Plastic Surgeon, and just last month, I had 72 lumps removed. These push on my nerves and cause pain and heaviness in my arms and legs. Do No Go to a regular surgeon. They don't seem to have the experience with this. Many of these, removed recently were in different places, many on the inside of my knees. There were so many that he was unable to get them all, but he said we could take out the remaining ones with a local. All three of my surgeries have been in a hospital and were covered by my insurance. I took about 2-2.5 hours to remove the 70-77 lumps. I am so pleased with his physician and will continue to see him if I have more problems.
As we age we see increased skin and laxity in the jowls and nasal labia folds. We have a few options for facial rejuvenation. Fillers can improve this some by increasing volume back into your cheeks and softening the lines. Surgery is a longer term solution. Mini facelift and full facelift would improve the jowling and nasal labia folds. Full facelift last longer and would improve cheeks as well. Facelift do not address eyelid fullness or excess skin. A blepharoplasty can easily be added to the facelift procedure to give you more youthful looking eyes.
Fortunately, there are a few options for downward angled starting at your mouth. We call this marionette lines. We often will use filler to give you volume in the corners of your mouth which changes the frown look to more of a smile. This last around 12-18 months depending on the filler used. Usually a facelift will also turn this area upward versus downward. The best way to test this on yourself is to pull your skin from around 1 inch in front of your ear, toward your ear and slightly upward. We have some videos online on how to do this.
It is common after a facelift to have some swelling in the neck which gives it a wide appearance. This can also happen in the temporal areas after a mini facelift. These resolve without any intervention, although there are a few tricks that can help them resolve faster.
Facelift usually last around 10-15 years. The best ways to improve the longevity of a facelift is a medical grade skin care routine. Regularly seeing an esthetician can also increase the longevity of your facelift. Sunscreen and sun protection will be the most important key to this.
Most fillers last around 1 year. Some last 18 months. 2 years should be sufficient time for the filler to be naturally absorbed. During your consultation we should be able to palpate the filler if it is still in place. Unless it can still be palpated, I would not recommend having it dissolved because it is likely already absorbed.
