I recently had a breast reduction done with Dr. Keagle and would like to share some of the highlights that reflect why I’m so happy that I chose her as my surgeon. I did plenty of research before choosing Dr. Keagle, and her website was immediately a distinguishing factor. She includes all of her credentials as well as her CV, along with testimonials and photos. Her qualifications are impressive and certainly set her apart from other doctors in Southern California (Believe me, I looked into many!). I knew that her expertise is what would translate into great results. They have an easy contact form directly on their website, which started my initial interaction with her office. As someone who had never had a major surgery before and was relatively unfamiliar with how to request approval through health insurance, I was rather nervous about how to navigate the situation. It is so important to have good client care/customer service in these situations where many people, like myself, are self-conscious about showing their body and pursuing a breast reduction. Amelia, who runs the front desk and assists Dr. Keagle, is responsive, friendly, and clearly goes out of her way to provide their clients with a great experience. She contacted my insurance multiple times on my behalf, even at the outset to see if they would cover my consultation fee. At my first consultation, I felt comfortable right away. The office is clean and cozy, and I definitely agree with her website’s description of having a “boutique experience” overall. After my examination and going over a list of questions about why I wanted to pursue a breast reduction, they sent all of the information and an approval request directly to my insurance. As I mentioned, I’ve had no prior experience dealing with insurance, so it was really a gift to have them take care of everything. I got a call from Amelia as soon as my insurance approved the request, and we set up my pre-op and surgery dates. The pre-op appointment was a great experience as well, and it was noticeable that Dr. Keagle remembered things about me even from my consultation (where I live, what I do, etc.). It truly made me feel valued as a patient. I felt fully prepared and confident ahead of my surgery date knowing that all of my questions had been answered and that they were always responsive and compassionate. Now that my surgery is complete, I can honestly say that I wouldn’t think twice about recommending anyone besides Dr. Keagle and her team for breast surgery. I should add that her down-to-earth and friendly demeanor made this experience so memorable, and has truly been a life-changing procedure for me. Especially as a woman, it was of utmost importance to me that I found a team of people that would support me throughout the process and help take away my anxieties, not add to them! I am so happy to have found that here. I can’t say it enough, THANK YOU Dr. Keagle!!!
Had my consultation with Dr. Keagle today. We went over what can be done if I lose weight, how my body would look...etc and what cannot be done done if I don't loose weight, what my body would look like. She taught me a few things. She is in the running.
So here I am 31, 3 kids, horrible back paid and breast that hung a little too low for my liking. Can't express how great Dr. Keagle is. She made this process soo EASY and I absolutely LOVE my results.
I love going to Dr. Keagle -- she's fantastic! Consultations with her have been excellent, as she listens to my needs and answers all my questions thoroughly and knowledgeably. My treatment sessions have all yielded great results, too. She and her office staff are also friendly and fun. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Dr. Jennifer Keagle is a great plastic surgeon because she responds based on your wants and needs. She answers your questions promptly, thoroughly reviews your options, the process, and what to expect. I appreciated her straightforward approach. I am grateful that I found her. Bottomline - the results look great and I feel stronger in the end. Dr. Keagle mitigates your fears by attending to your concerns so you can have a positive outlook, and focus your energies on healing well.
I chose to do this procedure because I was looking tired and this was the most effective way to improve that.
Great question! I wouldn't worry about working out before surgery. Your surgeon will definitely give you instructions as to when and how much exercise you can do postoperatively. Typically, I do not allow my patients to do "heavy" exercise for 3-4 weeks postop. Walking is encouraged immediately.
Sounds like you may have developed capsular contracture. That could cause your breasts to be hard. There are other reasons, of course, so your best course of action would be to see your original surgeon or a board-certified Plastic Surgeon.
Great question!Sleeping on your back is sometimes very hard for some patients. I recommend four weeks of back sleeping. Additionally, I like my patients to wear their postop bra for 4 weeks including when they sleep. This gives the breasts some support should they turn to the side by accident. I also like my patients to sleep slightly elevated for the first week if they can tolerate it. This helps decrease some of the swelling and the pain associated with it.Remember, these are only my guidelines and to follow your surgeons protocol. And lastly, remember that only a board-certified Plastic Surgeon should be performing your aesthetic surgery.
Great question! I get this question a lot.I like my patients to start walking right after surgery. I understand that exercise keeps many people "sane" and staying in the right frame of mind will help recovery. That being said, you don't want to push yourself too early. The sweat and exertion can cause blood and fluid collections, infections and fungal rashes. I recommend walking and maybe hiking for the first 1-2 weeks if you can tolerate. Your body will tell you if it's too much. Compromising your healing is not worth it. Most of my patients do leg exercises starting at 3-4 weeks postop. Remember this is a rough guide and the protocol depends on your surgeon.Hope this helps!Always remember, have a board-certified Plastic Surgeon do your aesthetic surgery!
I don't typically recommend massaging breasts after routine breast augmentation. If a patient has a history of capsular contracture, I recommend gently moving the implant in the pocket once everything has healed (around 3-4 weeks postop). This is usually in combination with Singulair, as well.Remember to always have your aesthetic breast surgery with a board-certified Plastic Surgeon!
