My doctor was Jeffery Nerad at Cincinnati Eye Institute in Ohio. He is very skilled, but not the best communicator. He would off handedly recommend things and then change his mind. This stressed me out so much, but he had so many credentials and recommendations that I stuck with him. Well I’m grateful for his skill and my end result. If you’re in the Midwest and want a skilled surgeon for ptosis he comes highly recommended. Just ask him to slow down and explain everything, repeat things back to him to be sure you’re on the same page. I chose this doctor too because my mild case of ptosis ran the risk of over correction and I was hoping he had the experience to avoid that complication. I developed ptosis around 18 years ago from contacts or an eye infection and it progressively became more noticeable as I aged. I’m really glad I went through with the surgery. I have no memory of the actual procedure and felt no pain. The swelling after was unpleasant but got better over a couple of weeks. I had more swelling than most, and ended up being prescribed prednisone which helped. I wish I had gotten the surgery done sooner. I didn’t understand that I was raising my eyebrow unconsciously to lift the droopy lid. It took me a while to understand why my eyes and eyebrows looked uneven. Internal approach, tightening of levator muscle. Picture order from top to bottom: pre-op, day of surgery, 7 days post op with swelling, 5 weeks later with lash extensions. Hope this helps someone! Happy to answer questions! Also, CEI (Cincinnati Eye Institute) gives out general aftercare instructions. Be sure to follow what Dr Nerad recommendations (his aftercare packet), not CEIs.
I had a bad fall and fractured bones on my orbital floor. Dr Nerad fixed the fractures, brought my eye more forward and straightened the placement of the eye. Every visit with him was informative, he doesn't rush you and answers all questions raised. I would recommend Dr Nerad to anyone. dlrobinson
I had blephectomy on upper and lower lids at age 60. I asked my doctor about Latisse, since they advertised it in the office. I noticed results at 5 weeks.im at month 5 now, use it every three days. My lashes are ridiculous, they touch my brows. My brows are thicker as well. I love Latisse! I did switch to a small brush.
I recently needed to have Opthalmic Plastic Surgery and I was referred to Dr.Nerad at CEI, Cincinnatti, OH. I was very impressed with Dr. Nerad's medical credentials and decided to have the surgery. I am thrilled that I did! Dr. Nerad is an excellent surgeon and superb care giver! I highly recommend Dr. Nerad.
Dr Jeffrey Nerad did surgery on my daughter in law when she suffered from Grave's disease. How lucky was I to find him. I needed a double eye lift surgery, but after much discussion Ialso opted for an endoscopic brow lift and CO2 resurfacing laser for wrinkles and age spots. My recovery was easy. I am thrilled. The care I received was top notch.
I had eyelid surgery scheduled on 4-8-2020, but due to COVID, my procedure was cancelled. The lady in scheduling assured me they would call me back to reschedule as soon as they were allowed to. After an entire year of never hearing from anyone at Dr Nerad's office, I called on 4-23-21 to inquire about the status of rescheduling my procedure. The lady I spoke with in the scheduling dept assured me she would call me back on 4-27-21 to reschedule. I never heard from anyone. I then mailed a certified letter on 5-27-21. Once again, I never heard from anyone at Dr Nerad's office. I mailed yet another letter on 9-18-21. Still no response from anyone at his office. This is the most unprofessional medical office I have ever dealt with. I made 2 trips from north of Dayton to Cincinnati for pre-op visits and Botox that he recommended prior to the surgery. I am out HOURS of my time, many miles of driving for pre-op, the cost of Botox, and I have NOTHING to show for it. I've requested a reschedule or refund of my money. Now I am moving out of state and cannot have the procedure done. A refund would be the ethical thing to do from a reputable medical practice. Apparently that is not the type of practice I have dealt with. BEWARE! This office is a RIP OFF!
