Post-op finally home, had my op today and I had an amazing stay at the Pines hospital Manchester. The nurses were lovely I couldn't of asked for better care or better nurses. Arrived at 8 in the morning and got taken down to theatre at around 12.10 . Theatre team were lovely. Next thing I knew I was awake and I was glad it was finally over. Had a lot of pain while I was in recovery but was given cocodamol which helped after a while. Had great care afterwards in my room.

Glad you're recovering well! Bet you can't wait to get your cast off next week. I had my nose done by Mr Tahery last Saturday and had my cast off on Friday. I love it so far. Hope your recovery goes well and get lots of rest xx

Day 2

Kept feeling a bit on and off today would feel quite bad then would feel okay. Had a warm bath (made sure it had no steam) which was fine. Used the steramar stay for up my nostrils which I thought would hurt but was totally fine. Fell asleep for a bit before which made me feel lovely and just bathed my nose like the nurse said. I've got a bit of swelling today on my face and neck and looking a bit yellow.

You're getting there Hun. And your cast has been kept much cleaner than mine, the doctors got all blood on mine haha. My best friends during recovery were: Vaseline, dry mouth spray, straws and hand sanitiser gel. It's so weird not being able to taste food for a few days isn't it [RS bleep]

Aww haha ! And thankyou I'll have to try them ! And yeah I can't wait to taste food again how long does it last for not being able to taste things? [RS bleep]

For me it was about 5 days and then I gradually could enjoy food again! Sweet things I could taste more strangely. I think as soon as some of the packing dissolves and you start getting a little air through the nostrils xx

Feeling a bit weary now and getting little bits of pain. Very scared to see the result on Friday when I get my cast taken off as I still look like I have a bump. So nervous.

Keep up with your meds hun, and get lots of rest. I know it's so hard to sleep etc but don't excert yourself. Make sure you're eating as well. Soup if you can't face chewing. and lots of water. Keep up with the saline spray too. Don't worry too much about the results yet, there will be lots of swelling and everything has to settle yet. Try and keep optimistic and take your mind of it if you can. It's hard not to dwell when you're house bound but it's a journey and you've taken the biggest step. One day at a time Hun xxxx sending you well wishes xxxx
