Jan Karlin, MD (retired)

FYI... The Amazing Dr. Karlin is out of his very short retirement. I know I am a patient and saw him today. Dr Karlin has done 3 separate surgeries on me starting in the late 90s and the last April of. 18'. He is great, honest, safe, and very very skilled. The thing I appreciate the most is his honesty about the best procedure for your situation. Most surgeons I've consulted with advise you on the procedure you want, take your $$ and could care less about what's actually going to make you look you absolute BEST... I'm a post bariatric patient and lost over 300 lbs so Dr. Karlins honesty has been very valued and earnest.

Well it went well, AWAKE, ASLEEP, SURGERY DONE! Woww amazing right?! Lol.... I had 2-3 hours surgery and the doctor said the GIRLS looks great! Yeheyyy cant wait! Im sorry about the horrible picture! Took a shower today. Thank god theres my husband whose helping me...... I have back soreness and i feel like the muscles and skin at the back are migrating to the front goshhh..... Im happy with the outcome honestly but my husband wants it bigger goshhh.....

I hate the yellow betadine between my boobs making them look my boobs are so apart! Grrrr Not taking pain meds now. I think i can tolerate the very lil pain. Although im still taking the muscle relaxers of course. And the sleeping pill helps a lot for sure! Just rest rest rest sleep sleep sleep lol.....

Went to the doctors office and removed the stitches! No pain at all lol..... Thank god! Doctor said im healing nicely and be patient lol.... I really thanked my doctor for a nice job done on my breasts. Cant thank him enough. Anyways heres my boobiez!

Well upper shoulder is such a pain. I dont know why but its the most painful part of my body than my breasts now. Tylenol didnt help at all and wont work for me. Only ibuprofen pain killers only works for me but the nurse said its a blood thinner and im still not allowed to use it. Damn it. But once i lay down in bed the shoulder is fine.

Everythings fine... I can feel the implants dropping off in the breast pocket very very slowly. Nipple sensation is getting back slowly as well. Breast nerves are tingling and pinching. Thats a good sign i guess. Fingers crossed!!!

Healing well..... Not hurting much anymore but still maintaining my recovery vitamins until its consumed. Still feeling random pain in the nipple area and upper right shoulder area. But other than that im all good! Right implant needs to go down and settle lolz

Hmmm right boob is still more high and smaller projection than the other. I hope the projection wid increase and be equal to the left side boob. Goshhhh..... But they will look proportion once i use bras or tops showing cleavage though. Thats the only good part. But if im naked, i can see the difference between the two.

Wow! Cant believe im almost a month now. How time flies right? Anyways i keep telling myself there are "sisters!" Not "identical twins". I cant help to feel frustrated over the unfullness of the right portion on this picture. Sighhhh.... Also i attached the status of my incision its healing well. And a picture of my boobs in a far angle. It looks small lol....well im aiming for natural not a pornstar big so..... LOL... No itchiness or watsoever. Thank god!

Woohoo!!!! Just 2 more days then i be completely 1 month! Had an early doctors appointment he said everything is doing great. He said i need to squash or flatten my boobs for 10 minutes everyday so that the tissues inside will be hmmmmmm i forgot lol.... But anyways heres the pocs lol

Well everything is healing well. And the female hormones is definitely helping out to improve it and making it more natural. Im so happy and contented. They are just normal big kind of size. Will update after 2-3 months!

(No filter) My breast looks amazing of course! (At least for my standards.) even tho my implants is the type of implant that i dont need to massage, i still massage them. Everyday. My breasts looks firm and soft. Looks so natural. There are little thoughts in my head that i wish i cud gone bigger or the maximum capacity of my body frame, but of course im happy still of the outcome.

Just FYI: dont be scared, do the maximum capacity size of the implants for ur body frame.

I'm on day one of treatment and still waiting to see the final results, or at least see my boobs unwrapped. They look like they are near the size I wanted in the bandages though. Pain started about 12 hours after surgery and it's difficult to sleep even with the pills. I go to my follow up today and get to see them!

Day 2 feeling soooo much better, almost fainted during my first shower yesterday but made it through one today no problem. Icing is my best friend.

I had a breast augmentation on August 5, 2013. I went from an A cup to a small D cup. I had gotten 400cc high profile textured under the muscle. I had asked my doctor for a natural look on me and something that won't be too big or too small. Well they happened to be too big on me and I don't like them :|. They look fine under loose clothes, but when i wear a strapless tight tops or a bathing suit or bra, they look too big on me.

What I did not like about my current breasts:
- They stick out so much out of my frame
- Too large of breast for my body

What I wanted:
- Proportionate breast size to my body (natural)
- Wanted them to fit on my frame

My surgeon wanted me to wait 6 months before I did my revision because he wanted me to see how they will look once they drop and start to look more like real breast. I on the other hand was worried that by then if I decided on a smaller size I could have possibly needed a lift. So I knew I was sure that this is not the size breast I wanted and told him I wanted to get this done any time in November. He was ok with it and let me know that there should not be any complications and my skin should be able to adjust back since I am young and my breast tissue is not stretched loose since its only been 3 months. I have actually been wearing a sports bra day and night, I don't ever take it off unless I'm taking a shower! and I do this just so I make sure my breast don't strecth any more so that it's easier on my skin to go back and fit the new implants. I have been doing this since the day i was able to get out of the grandma bras they give us lol

Now my breast revision is on November 18, 2013! I will be getting 260cc high profile textured under the muscle. Under the muscle is the best for me since I have barely any breast tissue and I'm very skinny, so having them under will provide a more natural look. My surgeon recommended textured just to prevent any complications in the future like capsular contraction and its best for my frame also because the pocket doesn't have to be made too large for these implants. I am nervous and excited at the same time, also scared if it doesn't turn out to what I want. I have seen many pictures similar to me and I have measured my chest size and compared it to the implant size and it will fit perfect! My surgeon also told me that the 260 cc will fit perfect on my chest wall!

The 400 cc that i have now are 5 inches in diameter and are 4.5 cm of projection (how much the breast come out). The 260 cc are 4.1 inches in diameter and are 4 cm of projection.
I found it crazy how saying 400 to 260 sounds like such a big difference but when I look at the measurements, the new implants are just 1 inch smaler and still have a descent amount of projection.
They will obviously look different on me and will make a difference though! The great difference that I'm most excited about is that my breast will fit great on my chest wall and look more natural! :]

Right now i have been taking my vitamins for a week. Just incase you are interested on what I'm taking I will list everything. It is also crucial to eat healthy, thanks to my mom all my life I have done this :] and also have lots of food with protein and natural sugars that come from fruit.
These are my vitamins:
- Vitamin C 1000mg (3 times a day)
- Vitamin A 8000IU(2 times a day)
- Essential Amino Acids (3 tablets 4 times a day)
- Rutin 500mg (2 times a day)

It's getting so close & I'm getting so excited! but I'm also nervous for my surgery because my first surgery ever was when i first got my breasts done and I had a bad experience thanks to the nurse. After my surgery I don't remember anything until I woke up in the room with an oxygen mask, my mom on my left and the nurse on the right telling me to wake up. Kind of scary to me but i did not know what was going on at the moment. So my mom told me when she got there the nurse did not have the heart beat machine on & that my mouth & nails wear purple. My mom said she told the nurse and the nurse said that i was fine until my mom insisted and thats when she tried to wake me up with an oxygen mask. The nurse did not pay attention at all that i was not breathing through my nose when i had the oxygen on my nostrils. When i sleep sometimes i breath through my mouth because my doctor told me my nostrils are smaller and the best form of breathing for my body sometimes is my mouth. So after surgery i was not breathing through my nose and i wasn't breathing well through my mouth due to the tightness of my chest. That nurse is the stupidest nurse i have ever met in my life. I called the clinic and let them know of what happened and i told them i don't want to even see that lady there the day of my surgery.

I'm sure my next surgery will run smoothly and i will have my mom there again with me :)

By the way now I'm also taking:
- Vitamin K (4 days prior to surgery twice a day)
- Arnica (3 under tongue 4 times a day, 4 days prior to surgery)

So my surgery was yesterday 11.18.13, I got there at 9:30 am & i was scheduled to be there at 9:45 am. I actually waited 2 hours until i got into my surgery because Dr. Karlin was with another patient in the surgery room. So my surgery did not start until like 12:30-1:00 pm and it took him like 3 hours to finish lol but everything came out great! I had a nice nurse who took good care of me this time :)
The pain is not the same as the first time, the first time i was extremely sore everywhere, my back, arms, armpits. Right now I'm just a little sore and i mainly have pain where my stitches are & the center of my breasts. I can get up on my own but carefully.
Dr. Karlin did have to adjust my pocket for the smaller implants and he also raised my crease so i have better cleavage up top. He also was able to move my breast a little bit closer together :)
I'm so excited to see the girls heal and look beautiful! :D

I have to wear a bra like the one on the pics that has underwire and an elastic band right under that because he had raised my crease during surgery and the wire will shape my crease better. I found one at victoria's secret & i love it because its comfy. It's a size 32B but I usually like my sports bra a little smaller because of my tiny frame. The only problem I'm having is my left breast on the side the wire is hurting me a little. I called my doctor but he wasn't available so he will get back at me about how to make that breast more comfortable.

I'm using Bacitracin on my stitches and around the skin and i change the gausses everyday, 2 times a day, morning and night.
I'm also icing the bobbies everyday :)

I have not posted in a while because i work a lot but they have been healing great! The stitches came off last week on monday & they put white strips to conceal the incisions, i couldn't shower for 10 days so i had sponge baths :]. I had a small issue because i was having a small discharge on my right breast. I went to get it checked & they told me somehow moisture got in there & it was probably from sweating. They took the strips off & told me it was fine but now they will leave it to air dry and use the Bacitracin & gausses. Now I'm just waiting for the insicions to heal! The other night i took the girls out with my friends to have some drinks lol ;]

I am very excited because I have 11 days until I get my breast augmentation. Right now I am barely a 32A and hoping to be a small to a full C after my procedure. I know that it can't really be determined by cup size because all stores will have different bra sizes but that is just what I am hoping for :]. I picked the Natrelle Allergan 400cc, under the muscle and I will be having my incision on the edge of the bottom of my boobies. I will definitely be posting on here some more :] & i would love to hear about anyone who is also getting theirs done or if you are thinking about getting your boobies done or if you got the same size as me!

So tomorrow morning i will be seeing my doctor for the last time before surgery I will make sure that I am sure about the 400cc... The size does not worry me much because i liked that size but I'm worried on how they will turn out to look :\. The picture i posted is what i don't want mine to look like after! I am very skinny and have no fat in my upper body (which is why i don't have boobs lol) so I will talk to my doctor to make sure that the size i picked will not make me look like that. I know that i can trust him on the size we picked but i just like to be sure of everything since it's something that will change my body for a lifetime.

So I saw the doctor and 2 ladies that work for him today and they reassured me that the 400cc high profile will look fantastic on me. One of the ladies did suggest that i could do the 375cc moderate profile but i didn't like the moderate profile that much and she said that between 375 and 400 is not a big difference. So I have decided on doing the 400cc high profile and i should obtain a good size C cup bra size. :]... I'm starting to get nervous because its getting so close! but I'm also excited! lol

So yesterday was my operation & it went great! They has me wear long tight socks to prevent blood clots & when they inserted the what they called candy juice lol i dont even remember when i fell asleep. After surgery i had difficulties breathing but it was because usually when i sleep i only breathe with my mouth so i wanst getting enough oxygen. They put an oxygen mask on me & i was fine & i was able to breathe on my own after. The pain after was pretty bad but not something that you can't take. I had taken all my mesds & it made me feel better. Right now my right arm can move better with very slight pain but my left one hurts when i move it & the pain is on the side of my boob when i move the arm. I have been having a lot of back pain so i have been taken a pill for that & it helps. My boobies feel good when laying down but when i get up they hurt. I have a constant feeling on them of pressure & heaviness. I see my doctor today & he will remove the bandage wrapping my boobs. He told me i would feel better after the bandage comes off. I will post my before pics now & my picture of me wearing the bandage. Once i get the bandage off i will updat you guys on how my boobies look :]

So i have inverted nipples as you can see on my before pictures but i did not want to pay to get it fixed because it was an extra $1500 plus i didn't care about my nipples being inverted because they never bothered me or made me feel insecure. The good news from Dr. Karlin was that he said they popped out after the implants were in! & we are hoping they stay out :D

So i got my bandages of today & the girls look amazing! :D... Those bandages were casing me all the pain once they were removed no more back pain for me! :]... Im so excited because they look perfect! Not too big but not too small & they fit my body

They are very high and still swollen but i can definitely see they will look amazing once they drop. I have been having issues sleeping elevated because it hurts my back so last night i woke up like at 4 am with a lot of back pain & just laid down straight on my back then like at 8 am i put my self back up to an elevated position. I have a little bit more energy now than the first 2 days but i still get very tired and need my cat naps lol

Omg! so its been 2 weeks now but they still look the same. I can move them just a little bit. I got my stitches taken off last thursday and I was having some pains around that area but I contacted my doctor and he said that was normal. The last 3 days they have been feeling way better with just a little discomfort sometimes on my left boob previous stitched area but other than that i feel great :]

So I cannot wait until my boobies get soft! my doctor told me it will take about 3 to 4 months for me and not to massage them. I got the textured silicone implants so thats why he said not to massage them. I want to get a sports bra that will push them a little bit closer so i will ask my doctor if thats ok and then I'll let you guys know :]

So you guys are going to think I'm crazy because i was so excited about my boobs but i don't like the size at all. They are too big from what i wanted. In the beginning i thought they were just swollen and that my results would be what i asked for. Its been 2 months and i want to get them smaller as soon as possible. Everyone tells me they look great but they do under clothes when im naked its not what i want. They come off my frame too much and they are too big from my frame also. I have a very small upper body and waist, smaller then usual girls and thats something he should have taken in consideration. I wanted was to have a B or small C but i actually have a D. I feel like my doctor didn't take the time with me to explain what size were the 400cc rather than telling me they will look great. I did the bird seed sizers or what most people do is the rice sizers and my boobs don't look like what they looked with the bird seed sizers. I spoke to him about it already and he told me to wait 6 months but i don't want to to that. I'm actually afraid by 6 months the implant stretches my skin and then when i replace it for the smaller implant the boobs would be saggy. I know what i wanted from day one and I actually went to his assistant 4 times in those 2 weeks before surgery because i didn't want my boobs to end up too big. I know that I'm picky but it is my body and i want it to look how i prefer not what other people think. I think it was just a confusion in communication between me and the doctor and his assistant.

Here i have some pics of what they look like now.

I have a picture with a 32C Victoria's Secret bra and that is what i wanted to have done seems it seems like a size that would fit my body and frame better.
I know I'm a 32D & even a 32DD but the boobs look the same without the bra. I'm not looking to be comfortable with my boobs with a bra, I want to be comfortable with them and love how they look naked.
The picture on the right is how i made my boobs look the size i actually wanted.
I will be contacting my doctor tomorrow so I can see him again and show him this and get me a new size.
