This is a review for Karen. The woman behind Dr. Miramontes success. She is incredible and helped the Dr. in his practice beyond belief. Any Dr. would benefit greatly from having her on their team. I had booked a surgery with the Dr. just before he fell ill and Karen was there to answer all of my questions and beyond that, make me feel comfortable and cared for. Dr. Miramontes was a successful Dr. and it was Karen's help that brought about that success. My only regret in not working with the Dr. was not meeting Karen in person. When you're about to have a major surgery having someone like Karen to be able to talk to is priceless.

After researching doctors and prices and before and after pictures in the US and Mexico, I chose Dr. Miramontes. He does the deep plane smas facelift that has longer lasting results than a regular facelift. I got a consult from a Plastic Surgeon in Dallas who would charge about the same price for a regular facelift that may leave a windblown effect. Updated on 18 Jul 2020: About 5 weeks post op. Finally able to add pictures. Pictures speak for themselves. Dr Miramontes was so easy to talk to. He didn't upsale anything. He told me what I needed and what I didn't. Everything was taken care of and I had a driver take me wherever I needed to go for food, ultrasound appointments, etc. Updated on 25 Jul 2020: These are photos of my incisions in front of my ears and under my chin. They have healed up nicely. The one under my chin will take longer to heal though not visible unless someone is looking for it. I cannot get photos behind my ears at the moment. Those incisions are still red but only visible when I wear my hair up. Updated on 25 Jul 2020: I love this picture. No more jowels thank goodness. I loved Dr Miramontes's results. It has taken at least 10 years off. Was told I looked like I was in my twenties by a stranger and I'm 44. Very happy with my natural results. Updated on 27 Jul 2020: Here is a good close up of my profile from my left side before the surgery. My chin and neck line are so much better and the loose skin and jowels are gone. Pictures show the dramatic difference from before and after. Let me start by telling you that I was never someone who gave a lot of thought to the possibility of having plastic surgery. I am a busy woman in an executive role for a large company, who always received compliments from strangers that I looked 10 years younger than my real age. Then one day it happened, the compliments stopped, and when I looked in the mirror, I didn't recognize the person looking back at me. Everything on my face and neck had fallen, and I saw more and more wrinkles. I tried every cream and treatment out there, but nothing worked. If this sounds like you, please read on. I knew I needed to try something different and that I needed the help of a specialist. I began researching to find a specialist that could give me a natural refreshed look. I always thought that facelifts looked too plastic and unnatural, but then I came across Dr. Miramontes online. The before and after photos looked remarkable, and I found the courage to send some questions. My questions were answered almost instantly by Karen, the Patient Care Coordinator, who works closely with Dr. Miramontes. She is very caring, thorough, and responsive. Dr. Miramontes and his team are in Guadalajara, Mexico, and they absolutely know how to deal with international patients. They were very accommodating when it came to scheduling a surgery date that worked for me. They even handled the lab work. They make everything so easy. So if you are worried about having a procedure done in Mexico, don't be! Everything is so organized and professional. They picked me up at the airport, and we went directly to meet with Dr. Miramontes. I knew I was in good hands! The Dr is excellent and will be honest with you about what you need and what you don't need. I felt comfortable with him and wasn't nervous about anything even though it was a major surgery - that says a lot about how they support you as a patient! The hospital is clean, new, and state of the art. Dr. Miramontes and the team that took care of me are remarkable. Surgery was nearly 6 hours, and I was surprised that Dr. Miramontes was there to see me when I opened my eyes to make sure I was ok and to answer any questions. After the surgery, a nurse stayed with me 24 hrs a day for two days (Lulu and Lula). They really care about you and look after everything you need. Dr. Miramontes and Dr. Mirabel were also checking on my regularly. I elected to have Nurse Lula take care of me once I moved to the hotel to continue with my recovery. She was awesome! I stayed in Guadalajara for 2 weeks and had a daily ultrasound and hyperbaric treatments to promote healing (Thank you, Bernice and Mary Carmen). I think these treatments really help. Here is a bit more about my recovery: The first week, my face looked like a pumpkin, swollen, and I had some bruising. A few drains are inserted, which is a bit uncomfortable, but I never felt any pain at all. It was strange seeing myself like that, but I knew it was temporary. You feel better once drains and stitches are removed. The second week, bruising and swelling coming down a bit. I was able to cover up bruises with makeup, but glad I decided to stay and that I didn't return to work. I flew home on day 14 and continued to rest at home. I did a lot of sleeping and followed Dr's orders. The third week, minimal bruising and swelling. Hardly noticeable. Everyday gets better and better, but swelling can take 3 months to heal fully. I am thrilled with the result. The turkey neck is gone, my eyes lit up, wrinkles are gone, my jawline is refined. Everything is back where it's supposed to be. I look like myself still - very natural. I am a private person, so I apologize that I am not sharing before and after photos. Trust me when I say the transformation is remarkable. Dr. Miramontes is simply the best! If you relate to any of my situations and are worried about the procedure or doing it in Mexico, don't be. I assure you that you won't regret it. Hi, my name is Joan. I'm from Canada. Being a university student in my 60s, I felt somewhat out of place among all the 20 year olds. I keep my body in great shape through diet and exercise, and after seeing the great results my sister and a friend of hers had, I decided to help my face keep pace with my body by obtaining a facelift by Dr. Miramontes in Mexico. In a community where a lot of people come to get cosmetic surgery, everybody I have talked to agrees that Dr. Miramontes is the best surgeon around. In addition, he is a very kind and loving man. And the price is amazing! My experience was entirely pleasant. Before the operation, the anesthesiologist and Dr. Miramontes were very reassuring. And I woke up after my operation feeling great - honestly! I had a private room and private nurses, who were wonderful. On the third day I worked up the courage to look in the mirror. Of course I had bruising and swelling, but I could already tell that my skin looks wonderful! Dr. Miramontes doesnt just pull skin up, he provides deep tissue support so that, in addition to turning the clock back, one ages more slowly. And the skin is not too tight - everything is in its proper place. It is now the 11th day since my operation. Up till now I have been covering my face with a scarf and sunglasses, but today only sunglasses are necessary. My whole experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I expect that soon I will feel okay about going without sunglasses. My recovery has been faster than I anticipated. I am not comfortable sharing photos, but I know I look great. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Miramontes. I feel I was unbelievably lucky to find him. I'M SO HAPPY!!!

Since I turned 50 I’ve developed significant skin laxity, and the expression on my face started looking hard and angry. He seems passionate about his theories of how to repair the aging process, and gets excited when explaining them. He is NOT an assembly-line low budget international plastic surgeon, so don’t expect super low price . Dr. Miramontes is not a promoter of himself, and is a busy surgeon. His coordinator, Karen, is the person that arranges everything and answers questions before you arrive in Guadalajara. I didn’t have one-on-one consultation with Dr. Miramontes until Karen took me to his office. My consultation: He spent a lot of time asking me questions and listening to my concerns. I explained that I didn’t want to change the natural shape of my eyes, but hated how my eyelids looked tired. I thought I needed upper Bleph, but Dr. Miramontes explained that my lids were not hooded, instead my eyebrows had dropped causing that appearance. We both agreed that an upper, mid, and lower facelift would be best for a completely youthful look. I’ve never had a doctor spend so much time consulting with me before. Next Day Surgery: Dr. Miramontes performs at Innovare Hospital, which appeared newer, clean, and professionally operated. My surgery was 5 hours long, with 100s of meticulous stitches. After recovery, I was placed in my own hospital room, with my own nurse for 2 days. Day 1: I’m not going to lie, this is major surgery and it feels like it. My nurse did everything possible to keep me comfortable, and Dr. Miramontes’ doctor assistants checked on me regularly. Dr. Miramontes gave me his personal cell number so I could contact him directly if necessary. First Week: After 2 days I was sent back to my hotel suite with my Nurse, Lula, who was amazing. I started with 4 drains, and had 1 remaining drain left that Lula monitored. I looked pretty freaky, with staples and stitches, lots of bruising and swelling. I was able to switch to Tylenol after 4 days, took small walks, and lots of rest. Second Week: I’m feeling good, but tire easily. The stitches and staples are removed, and I received ultra sound treatments at the hospital every day to improve circulation and promote healing. Some of the other patients got the hyperbaric chamber package to heal faster, I didn’t feel I needed this. I can already tell my results are amazing, and exactly what I’m wanting. Third Week: I still have swelling and a blackeye, which is difficult to hide, but I have to go back to work. I get headaches if my day is too long, and I’m getting tired of sleeping on my back. I’m trying my best to keep my chin elevated as Dr. Miramontes requests. I’m getting some sensation back in my face, but everything feels extremely tight. So far I’m still very happy with my results. Updated on 1 Jan 2020: I'm at 4 weeks now and I'm still happy with my results. Most of the bruising is gone, and my nerves are regenerating.My incisions have completely healed. I'm looking forward to coloring my hair and exercising again. Updated on 6 Jan 2020: I've had some members ask to see my incisions, so I'm posting them. I can't say enough how blown away how well I've healed.I got breast implants over 10 years ago, and these incisions look 100% better than that surgery at 5 weeks. It's extremely difficult to see the incisions on my breasts, so I know these incisions will be completely invisible soon. I still have some bruising behind the ears, but if I put a little make-up there I have no problem putting my hair up. Updated on 11 Jan 2020: Here's a side by side photo before and after. The before pic isn't completely fair, because I had just woke up and had no make-up on. I took the picture that morning because I looked in the mirror and thought, "I'm going to do something about this!" I'm glad Dr. Miramontes recommended the forehead lift instead of the upper Bleph, my whole face looks happy again instead of angry. The second picture gives a better look at my neck in the same position as the before picture. Updated on 4 Feb 2020: I'm at 9 weeks since the surgery, and the incisions are getting better and better.I still have some numbness and nerve regeneration (tingling, nerve zaps) on my neck and the top of my head . The biggest change is I no longer get the daily comments of, "smile!" or "are you mad?", because I no longer have resting bitchy face! Updated on 26 Feb 2020: Just a quick note explaining the incision line. The incision goes from ear to ear over my head like a headband. It lifted my eyebrows, and got rid of the sagging eyes. I'm almost at 3 months since the surgery, and my eyes have relaxed down a bit as expected. The last few weeks I've been getting A LOT of sensation with my nerves regenerating! Updated on 3 Apr 2020: Hey guys, things are crazy right now with COVID19 and I'm an essential employee. I'm sorry if I haven't responded to your messages. I'm at 4 months and absolutely love my results. I'm so glad I did this before things went crazy. I do still have numbness in my neck and by my ears, but I understand this takes awhile for the nerves to regenerate.My hair is growing back at my scalp incision so I'm including a pic of it. I pulled my hair back in the pics to get the real me. Updated on 3 May 2020: Not much to say at 5 months. I'm still amazed and loving my results! I do have some internal incisions that I feel under my skin that occasionally work it's way to the surface. I'm doing my best to just leave them alone. A couple places where my hair was cut are about 3 inches long and poke out. I just put some hair gel on it to get it to lay down. I've regained about 70% of the feeling in my neck. I don't have 1 day that I regret doing this. Updated on 4 Jul 2020: At 6 months the only change is more regeneration of my nerves around my ears and neck. It's not at 100%, and if you have this done please be patient and not freak out if you are really numb at first. Not really anything has changed in the last month and I'm really glad I did this. It's worth every penny I spent. The hair from incision from my brow lift and behind my ears has grown and weird to deal with since the short hair is curly. At 6 months all of my incisions are hardly visible. Updated on 8 Aug 2020: Still very happy with the results! Been trying to wear sunscreen, but I still get too tan. I've been focusing on repairing sun damage with Lactic Acid peels, and micro-derm needling. I may get a more drastic peel next year. I did not have anything done to my eyes, and I'm okay with a little bit of crow-feet. Updated on 18 Dec 2020: I'm at a year, and I think this review has reached an end. I still feel that I made a good decision regarding the surgery and the doctor. My decision was at a pivotal point in my life, and helped my mental and emotional outlook immensely. If you're considering this surgery, please remember that no surgery or surgeon is perfect, all you can do is expect satisfaction, not perfection. I'm still working on my self improvement journey as I can afford it, so I'll still be on here to answer questions. Keep in mind if I've already answered this question on my review I'll probably not answer it again. I'm having difficulty loading all my photos, and will try more later. I loved my doctor and I had an amazing experience! Everyone was so kind and patient with me, since I was quite nervous. They reassured me about everything that was going on, and talked me through it. Dr. Miramontes is absolutely first class and was easy to talk to, cared for his patients, and was readily available for any questions or concerns no matter how small, at any time of day or night. We were very happy with the results and the excellent follow-up.

I am turning 68 years old this week and was finally beginning to look my age. I felt like I didn't recognize myself when I would glance in the mirror. I was a far cry from the fashion model I had been in my twenties. In my retirement, I have been performing on stage as a singer/songwriter with my husband. I have had to retouch all of my photos to take out the bags and lines of any promo shots. And, now I don't have to anymore. I had been considering a facelift for the past couple of years and did my research on the doctors in my area, talking to as many people as possible and researching on the internet. My final decision came when my grown children kept asking me why I was angry all the time. And I wasn't. So after interviewing several plastic surgeons and talking to women who had facelifts, I decided on Dr. Hector G. Miramontes. And I am so glad I did. I had the complete 'SMAS, deep plane facelift,' including my neck and eyes done at Innovare, the hospital exclusively for plastic surgery. Dr. Miramontes has his patients stay there for at least 2 nights, where his trained nursing staff took care of me. I felt no pain in my recovery, but it is an ordeal, and healing takes a while. I still have a little bruising and swelling, but with make-up and wearing my hair to conceal the bruises a few around my ear area, I have to say: I look fabulous. My husband loves my new look, and even my kids are telling me how good I look. I am so glad that I did it. And I highly recommend Dr. Miramontes to everyone who is considering the procedure.

When I was recently asked to write a Review for Dr. Miramontes, I was happy to do so. I had his deep plane facelift three ago. I love my results.
