Diastasis Recti due to extreme weight loss/gain, no children 29 yo female. Currently 4 days post op. 480CC high profile silicone breast implants. Dr. Grace and staff made sure I was comfortable and if I had any questions I could call them at anytime. The process was arranged very fast without any issue at all. Dr. Grace is a profound artist, he’s changed my life forever.
After I had two daughters in which I breast fed both I was left with very small empty breasts, in which I felt like I was a 12 year old little girl.. I finally made the appointment for a consultation and the second I met Dr. Grace I just knew he was the right Doctor for me. I had met a few others but I just felt completely comfortable with him... the last thing I was told before I left his room was do you have any more questions .. YES WHEN CAN I BOOK haha.. and that is what I did.. my ba was scheduled for 3 weeks later. The day of surgery I felt like a mess I was extremely nervous especially when had say bye to my hubby.. Dr grace and staff were extremely kind and shared stories and encouraging words while I laid on table getting prepped.. I was told your hand may sting a little from anesthesia.. and the last thing I remembered was exactly that, and I looked over at my hand... and woke up in recovery bed
I have been lurking on this site for over two years now, and I have recently come into money so can afford to get this done but feel very guilty about spending it on myself. I'm going to be 37 in January I'm 5'2" and 140 pounds. I have two kids age 12 and 15 and a nonsupportive boyfriend who thinks I'm perfect the way I am (they all do lol) I was looking into getting it done in the Dominican Republic and making a family vacation out of it, but I'm worried I'm going to be no fun and not enjoy myself while I'm there and I'm obviously worried about complications after surgery especially getting it done abroad. I was looking into becoming a Yily doll with a mommy makeover complete with tummy tuck and muscle repair, breast augmentation and lift, Liposuction, and Brazilian butt lift but not Kardashian style I don't want too too big lol just not for me. Any feedback good and bad it would be most appreciated, just to help me make my decision! Thank you! Updated on 21 Jul 2017: So it was fast, but I opted to do a tt local. That was my main concern anyway. Updated on 22 Jul 2017: So I wish I could have just updated my review instead of having to make a whole new one lol Anyway, long story short, I ended up going to see Dr Grace in Burlington in June, paid my $100 consultation fee, decided just to get a tummy tuck for now, and by the end if the consultation, I put my deposit down and was set for 6 weeks later! I'm now on the flat side as of yesterday! Still too early to tell, but I do have a nice hour glass figure for literally once in my life! Dr Grace and the girls are all so so amazing. Nurse Michelle is fantastic. I had VON (home nurse) come and visit with me today to show me how to care for myself, do my drains, give myself my blood thinner shot. She actually called before my appointment and tried to get out of it lol. Asked if I still needed her to come and show me all those things, or if I or my partner could just do the injection on our own. Um, maybe yes I need you? I'm not a nurse, I am less than24 hours out of surgery, have never injected myself with anything before lol A little guidance would be helpful. She also kind of put up a stink when I asked her to help me readjust and tighten my binder and if she could check my gauze. That apparently was not written on the order and I was going to have to wait until Monday when I have my follow up with Dr Grace. I asked her to just show me how to adjust my binding then, and she reluctantly did. When I spoke with Michelle to find out what exactly VON was supposed to do for me, Michelle jumped right on it and told me to send her an email with my concerns so she could file a complaint. Customer service is amazing with Dr Grace. Looking forward to updating more. Ask any questions and I'll try to answer :) Updated on 26 Jul 2017: I feel very bloated. My craving for water has really decreased and I find myself forcing it down lol I've been really craving healthy food though in the plus side! I'm a little worried about my belly button, it looks a little weird and oozy. Picture is horrible sorry. Updated on 27 Jul 2017: I. Am. So. Itchy. I hate it. I have a tank top under my binder, so it's not that, it's my actual incision that's killing me. I also went walking for almost 2 hours today, (it really wasn't far, it's just I was a turtle's pace and stopped every 10 minutes to rest lol, that walk usually would have taken me 1/2 hour round trip) And now the swelling. On a positive note, I'm going to a salt cave spa session tomorrow. 45 minutes of heaven in Hamilton lol Updated on 28 Jul 2017: Cleaned the button and incision today. The button is oozing quite a bit and the incision seems very bubbly and in some spots black??? Could this be the start of necrosis? I see my surgeon Monday morning, could it wait until then? Updated on 31 Jul 2017: Got my drains out finally today and had a freaking real shower. Heaven. Pure and simple heaven. Plus no more baggy sweatpants. Also no necrosis, just crusty lol belly button is looking awesome. I'm so happy ???????????? will post a pic later.
Hello all, I'm now five days post op. I had before pics but I deleted them not thinkin I was going to write a review. Sorry about that. But I will be showing after pics. I went into surgery 5"3, 136 pounds and i'm 36. I didn't take any vitamins before or after surgery I just ate a healthy diet. The first day wasn't too bad. I would say the key is staying ahead of the painkillers for the first 4 days. I took gravel with the pain meds every time to avoid the nausea. I set my cell alarm to go off every 3hours and 40 min and then took the next dose. I slept fine the first night in a lazyboy (and lots of pillows) which is another must have. 2nd day you should start taking laxaday or something similar (one scoop a day is fine) I ate healthy low sodium diet which was and still is hard for me but it helps tons with the swelling. Drink plenty of water and have a scoop of laxaday till you have a bowel movement. I had my first one today after a medium double double (the coffee could have helped too) lol which was day 5. No pain at all I thought it would be painful like a lot of women say on here but it was just like any other time. The other nice thing to make sure you have is a toilet riser, I got mine at walmart shipped to the door for 25bucks. I still can't stand totally straight but that is normal. I will be putting updated pics a few days from now. Oh and I had two drains, one got removed today. One more to go! Updated on 31 Jul 2016: Hi Ladies, so it's 10 days since my tummy tuck and MR. Let me tell you it has been hard. I am still sleeping on the lazy boy, I have tried several times to sleep on my side in the bed but I just have this pulling sensation in my stomach that I just can't take so back to the lazy boy I go!A few days ago I was able to take a short nap on the bed but I can't seem to get to that position, could have been when I was on more pain killers. I feel lots of pressure in my stomach underneath my belly button and where the drain is coming out. That's what wakes me up every night. I am still draining about 35cc's daily so I don't know if I'll lose the drain Tuesday. Hope so. Also, my lower back hurts me more than anything else. I had a sore lower back before surgery and I think it's intensified because of sleeping in a lazy boy all the time. My first outing was my one week appointment to see the surgeon. It was nice getting out into the world. But I couldn't stand straight and am still hunched over today. I'm hoping ill be able to stand up straight soon. Have any of you ladies taken a long time to stand straight? My one drain is really sore at the opening. It looks like dry blood around it. I'm hoping it's not dead skin though so I'm kinda worried about that. but if it was I'm sure it would smell right? Sorry, just a little paranoid. I attached a picture of it. Has anyone had blood come out of the hole near the drain? Not sure if I should take it off. I will probably wait to call the surgeon Tuesday. Would call tomorrow but it's a holiday. Hope all of you guys are doing great! And thanks for the tips! :) Updated on 31 Jul 2016: Pictures didn't upload the first time. Updated on 3 Aug 2016: Hi Ladies, I was just wondering if some of you can tell how much cc's were coming out of yo drains before they were removed. Right now I have one left and for the last two days it's been draining 29cc's. Updated on 5 Aug 2016: Hey Ladies, I found some before pics on my phone. I am also going to ask the surgeons office if they could send me my pics that they took of me before surgery. Updated on 5 Aug 2016: Here's any update pic for today, just had 2nd drain removed. Wow, I feel so much better, can't believe how much discomfort that drain was causing me. I feel I can even stand a little straighter. Still bent but i'm getting there. Updated on 18 Aug 2016: Hello, I wanted to put up some pics. These are at around the 1 to 2 week mark. Updated on 18 Aug 2016: These pics are about 3 weeks post opp. Updated on 18 Aug 2016: So far everything has been pretty good. I had one drain in for 2 weeks the entry way got really sore. it's all scabbed over right now but it took a while to heal because I took the tape off to soon after the drain came out and ripped the scab off and it started bleeding but it's good now. Besides that I have a seroma which sucks I had to go in last Thursday to get It drained. 30ccs which isn't so bad and today he drained 24ccs so it's going down. The size of the needle might look scary but since I'm still numb it was painless, thank god! I'm kind of a big suck when it comes to pain.
It took me a few years to build up the courage to do this surgery. I have 2 children and I've been very insecure about my stomach since my first child. I had my TT on June 6 so it's been less than 48 hours.... Although I'm still having a lot of pain when getting up to go to the bathroom, I'm very happy with the decision I made to have this procedure:) Updated on 12 Jun 2014: So I am 6 days PO and every day gets a little better:) I had one of the drains removed today, which I was terrified about but it wasn't as bad as I thought. It was more of a weird feeling than pain. Best way to describe it..... I felt pressure in my upper stomach and then it felt like a gush of fluid went through my somach???? so not too painful but definitely weird... Something you may want to lay down for if you get queesy easily... After a few deep breaths, it's all done and over with though:) I still have one more to get removed???????? Updated on 22 Sep 2015: I haven't posted in a very long time but I am now 15 months PO and going for scar revision next week. I am going to be awake for the procedure and very nervous. Has anyone had this done? If so, please comment and let me know what it was like, if it was worth it, etc. Thanks:) Updated on 16 Apr 2019: I am now pregnant and not sure how my results will look after having this baby. I am hoping for the best! Here’s a picture of me 20 weeks pregnant, almost 4 years after having my TT. If anyone else has had a pregnancy after a tummy tuck, or is currently going through a pregnancy, please share and advice, comments, or photos:) Thanks!
I was really happy with the results of my Tummy Tuck. The c-section cut had caused a bad odour (odor) that now was completely gone. My size dropped 4 sizes after the procedure. The experienced surgeon produced a fine line (scar) that is turning white with time. It took me about 1 month and a half to feel well enough to lift light objects and stand totally straight. I had this done in my late 40's wish I had done it sooner. I was totally happy with the after sales service and the skill of the surgeon. The surgeon, had enough follow-up appointments to make sure that I was healing well. My final appointment was a year after the procedure. Will definitely trust this doctor and will return to have other procedures. Updated on 7 Jun 2014: This is the outcome of my tummy tuck. It took me awhile after the surgery to be able to resume the exercise I used to do before the procedure. At first the feeling in my stomach area was tight. 1.5 years later I can lift heavy objects again and can do some of the yoga I used to do before my procedure. The weight of the excess skin sagging used to cause me pain. Now this pain is totally gone. I love the result and would not change a thing. Updated on 7 Jun 2014:
Hi everyone! My breasts have never been perky and my nipples have always been very large since I was teen. After I had and breast fed my two boys they became much worse. I had the procedure done about 9 hours ago and although pain was pretty bad for the first 3 hours, it is bearable as long as I take the T3's before the pain starts to come back. I'm now wrapped in a sticky tensor bandage instead of being put into the surgical bra that I was asked to bring..not sure why but was told to switch in 2 days after I take my first shower. It's kind of nerve racking to not be able to peek under the bandages until than but they are completely stuck to my chest. I am super excited/nervous to see them as I feel like I've been waiting for this for most of my life. I will update pics in two days when they're unwrapped. Updated on 30 Mar 2014: I should have mentioned in my first post that I'm 5.3 and 140lbs. So I'm off the pain meds since this morning and feeling good. I took my shower this afternoon and had my bandages peeled off. I like the overall shape of my breasts so far but it's a little hard to see my nipples and incisions since there's a lot of dried blood on the steri-strips. I'm concerned about the leakage coming from under my left breast, a clear yellowish fluid. I put on my new white surgical bra and noticed it coming through within a few minutes of wearing so I've been putting kleenex in there every hour to soak it up. Anyone have any experience with this or know how much leakage is normal? Thanks
Excellent Results. Great experience and staff if wonderful. The incisions have healed great and my implants look very natural and feel completely like my natural tissue. Dr. Grace takes the time to help you determine the best size and shape for you based on your body. Excellent surgeon. My implants are below the muscle and my incision was below the breast.
I am 5 days post op from a tummy tuck. I lost over 60 lbs and could not get rid of my belly. I am turning 30 next month and getting muddied next year. I couldn't wait any longer. It is painful, but so for worth it. I am going for my follow up on Thursday and will get my fiancé to take one week photos. I am posting a couple of the pre op ones. Blah Updated on 22 May 2013: Obviously I meant I am getting married next year. Lol... Day six is getting better.. Yay
hi ladies, will try to post some pics soon... Have to edit it..i had my tt and mr feb 6... Day 3 now, i haven't seen my new belly yet... I go to my ps today... I don't think my drains will come out yet.. Still more than 30cc.. :( its just annoying... I wanna take a shower! The worst part of this experience so far is the anticipation of it. All the preop stuff made me so anxious but once i was at the surgical center, i became so relaxed... Updated on 8 Feb 2013: Day 4, i've been having dizziness andnauseated feeling mostly at night. I'm not really doing anything except laying in the lounge chair and goung to the washroom. I hope it will all end. Updated on 12 Feb 2013: Day 7 now.. Still can't stand up straight. I'm trying to do it but it just hurts! I'm gonna move to the bed tonight from my lounge chair maybe it will help me straighten up. Had a terrible morning yesterday with regards to pooping. Was badly constipated, i was crying in the toilet. My dear hubby had to help me get some relief. I was in so much pain... Updated on 19 Feb 2013: Had my 2 weeks postop appointment with my ps. Scar is healing nicely. He removed my steri strips and he said i could start massaging it with bio-oil or vit e. after my third week, i could start doing the silicone strip therapy... So exciting!!! Updated on 1 Mar 2013: PO 23 for me, went back to work rhis week. Fulltime! 9 hr shift each day. Big mistake! It wasn't eaay. Very exhausted, sore and swollen by afternoin. I think it's best if you start work partrime first and increase your hours by the week.
Tumescent liposuction refers to the fluid (saline and lidocaine) which is injected into the tissue before liposuction. It is beneficial because it significantly decreases swelling and bruising after the procedure. It also makes the procedure virtually pain free. Because of the decreased pain and bruising it enables many patients to receive the procedure without needing to have a general anaesthetic or be sedated. The vast majority of patients are able to resume their normal activity within 2-3 days with no swelling or bruising.
