A Breast Lift: What it Won't Do

Breast Lift
Commonly referred to as a breast lift, mastopexy augmentation surgery raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. A woman's breasts often change over time as a result of pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging and weight fluctuations which cause them to lose their youthful shape and firmness.

Dr. Clark points out the important thing to remember with a breast lift is what it won’t do: it will not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. If you want your breasts to look fuller, consider breast lift and augmentation surgery together. If you want smaller breasts, consider combining breast lift and reduction surgery.

Always consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and decide the best course of action for you when considering a breast augmentation or a mastopexy augmentation surgery.
