Mommy Makeover

WORTH IT
I've been wanting to do this since I had my son who is now 21. I decided last year I was going to do it now no matter what. My stomach, flanks and chin have always been problem areas even when I weighed 102 lbs. I had my my consult in Oct 2019 and was ready to schedule but I ended up needing a hysterectomy that was scheduled the end of January. Ended up booking my mommy makeover four weeks post hysterectomy.

Procedure day

dgmom
My surgery day went by in a flash. I checked in at 600. The nurses were wonderful. Dr Clark came in and did her markings, the anesthesiologist came in to chat after. He put something in my IV and walked me in to the surgical suite. I climbed into the bed and that's the last thing I remember. I woke up in recovery where my husband was waiting. They'd already given me pain meds and my IV was out. They wanted me to get home before the pain meds wore off. I left around 230 I think. Pain was tolerable, had a little bit of nausea that resolved with zofran. I had my recliner all set up and hubby tucked me in. I highly recommend renting a lift chair. I'm able to get up without using my abs or arms. I also got a toilet seat riser which I also recommend. I can get up and down without any help. I do need help getting back in to the chair.

Days 2 and 3

dgmom
Sleeping okay and pain is managed well. Worst problem is all the oozing from lipo.I was damp all the time and it was annoying. Thank goodness the drugs made me sleep so much. So day 2 I went to the dr and they checked everything out and changed my compression garment. Felt nice for a while. Got a sneak peek of my results and I was happy despite the swelling. I'm postings the afters but don't have befores. Will have to ask my drs office to email theirs to me. Overall did well these two days. Walked hunched over just to the kitchen and back without trouble. Mostly slept these days. Didn't need the walker I bought.
