I quit smoking 3 weeks before rhinoplasty (my surgeon recommended 2). However, I did take a couple drags off a cigarette 11 days before my surgery (my surgery is coming up) Is this something I should cancel my surgery for/cause a concern?
My nose looks awful when i dont smoke, there is groove on one side where the skin sinks in the open roof and i have an uneven and bifid tip since my rhinoplasty. But when I smoke or drink my nose looks a lot better because there is some swelling. Will this happen for all my life or will at some point my nose stop swelling when i smoke or drink? I dont want my skin to shrink wrap even more and like it so much better with swelling that covers all the imperfctions..
*I am 7 months post op* I waited about 2 weeks after my rhinoplasty to start smoking cigarettes. I had stopped smoking 2 weeks before my surgery as well. I had read many different time frames for smoking after a rhinoplasty procedure. I am naturally an over-worrier. My question is, is smoking after rhinoplasty related to the healing/ scarring, or could it have had any effect on the overall shape of my nose, IE the shape of the tip?
