  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.

cast off today!

...and I look hideous! I have visible markings from my incision that were under my cast. My nose in general looks weird because it was bound by tape and cast so now its taking normal shape. Doc said it will swell up again and go back down. I know this is just a temporary looking nose but as I go about in public with my new nose and freshly unveiled Frankenstein scars I'm getting more and more self conscious. I just want to go home and heal some more before going out again.

done!

I am three days post op. I'm feeling really bored at the moment, but it's giving me an opportunity to update. Monday was my surgery day. I was nervous but really wanted to get the surgery over with. I knew the hard part was in the post op. Sure enough, my ugliest day has been Tuesday so far. I hope I can call it my worst day from this point forward. My eyes were bruised and my face was swollen. Wednesday was better. Surprisingly, the bruising was already fading but my cheeks were really puffy. Today is Thursday and my face is still puffy swollen. My bruised eyes keep getting better. As far as pain I haven't had a lot of pain and I stopped pain meds on Tuesday morning. I'm just really uncomfortable. I can't breathe and I can't swallow comfortably. Eating and drinking have been tricky and frustrating. I can't wait for my post op visit on Monday. I'm looking forward to my big reveal! I've waited so long and now I play the waiting game! I'm very optimistic about my results.

Consultation Day!

I met with Dr. Zuliani today and my experience was as awesome as everyone has described. He has a great welcoming presence, good sense of humor, and was super responsive to questions and concerns on my end.
I learned I definitely have a curved septum, too small nasal bones, and wide base (end of my nose...don't know what it's called). I will need to have my nose broken to be reset, add grafts, and narrow the tip. I have a hump, slant, and too full nose to be repaired. Insurance should pick up some of the cost because it will improve my restricted breathing.
We took photos today, and Dr. will email those to me with morphs. I'm still nervous and excited. I don't think this feeling will ever go away until after the surgery.
As much as I appreciate Dr. Zuliani for his expertise in this area, I also equally appreciated his sensitivity to my circumstances. He is a person first, and a gifted surgeon in a very close second.
