Third Rhinoplasty-Dr. Wolf Saved Me from a Rib Graft and Gave Me a PERFECT Nose- Best Medical Experience of my Life!

I have too many good things to say about Dr.Wolf and his team for one review but I will try. First, if you are reading this and are looking to do a rhinoplasty, I hope you can save yourself from unnecessary angst- please : do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr. Wolf right now while reading this.

I am writing this 8 months after my surgery-I am as ecstatic with the results as I was the day after my surgery.

By the time I consulted with Dr. Wolf I was already in a dire position with my nose.
I had my first rhinoplasty at age 17, a revision at 23 and now 42.
My nose was twisting and deforming for the last 10 years.
The tip was TOTALLY asymmetrical/crooked.
I could not breath out of my nose -at all. First the left side at 17 shut down then the right side after my second surgery.
Simply put- I was in hell. I couldn’t imagine going the rest of my life not breathing. Aesthetically my nose was- horrific.

I had met with close to 10 of the top surgeons in Florida and I had contacted and sent photos to top doctors nationwide.
All said my circumstances absolutely required a rib graft surgery.
All refused to operate on me unless I complied with this approach.
I tried many times to bring myself to schedule this but was so petrified by the rib graft process and could not shake the feeling it was the wrong direction. It just did not feel right.
I found myself bursting into tears in doctor’s offices and at night thinking about this rib graft surgery. Eight hour surgery that seemed way to risky and extreme.

Every doctor told me I would need a rib graft.
Every doctor except for two: a top veteran surgeon in Newport Beach over a Facetime consult and… Dr. Wolf.

Dr. Wolf had also seen my photos prior to us meeting and sensed he could help without doing a rib graft, but- told me over phone he needed to see me in person before concluding anything.
I knew right away after speaking with him, he was honest , wise and kind.
When I did first meeting with him in our initial consultation, I will never forget the look on his face after he looked inside my nose the first time—it was the same look all doctors had after looking inside my nose.
The inside of my nose was clearly a total mess and war zone from previous surgeries.
I asked all doctors to rate how severe my case was on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst and all said I was a 9 or a 10. I was petrified at both doing nothing or doing the rib graft.

All said I needed a rib graft-all except for Dr.Wolf.

Dr. Wolf was the only doctor who continued to examine my nose after looking inside of it.
He took his time. He tried a number of things to troubleshoot /ask if it helped my breathing.
As he examined me and tried to acquaint himself with my nose and problems breathing, my gut told me : “this doctor knows about noses, he’s the one”.

Dr. Wolf told me in the consult I had an incredibly difficult case (I had no visible cartilage left).
He said he could operate on me and would use cartilage from my ear.
He was humble and clear that he could not make any promises and he would simply not know how much improvement he could offer until he operated on me.
After the parade of insensitive doctors and “marketing assistants” I had seen, Dr. Wolf and his entire staff’s bedside manner gave me immediate comfort and relief.
I knew I had finally found the right team. I felt like I had finally come home after a very scary couple of decades watching my nose deteriorate and not being able to breathe.
It was there I began to trust Dr. Wolf and his office.
I would like to add I had 4 non-cosmetic surgeries in addition to my 2 nose surgeries since I was a small child . To say I was scared of another surgery doesn’t begin to encompass the anxiety I had about a 7th surgery.

But Dr. Wolf began to change that fear from the first day I saw him.
He was professional , compassionate and warm. Lots of humility, no overpromising.
He LISTENED. I mean: he REALLY listened to my concerns.
I was FINALLY heard.
And...he was able to articulate them eloquently in feedback which gave me great comfort because even I didn’t understand why my breathing was completely shut down.
He earned my trust.

I told him my breathing was what mattered first, aesthetics second.
He met with me a few times to explain his diagnosis and was beyond patient and kind.
He was very understanding and sensitive to this being my third revision and of course, was traumatized and very scared. After all, I knew this was probably my last shot for life.
Never once did I feel like he was on auto pilot or insincere like the other doctors I met with. I was not “a number” with Dr. Wolf. Never in my life have I felt a doctor took so much time and care to hear and see ME as a unique patient needing a personalized approach.

The day of my surgery came and before I knew it I was waking up in recovery and….breathing out of the left side of my nose! First time in my adult life I felt air on that side.
Later that night, I could breathe out of the other side of my nose.
I didn’t have pain after my surgery.
And I was so excited at being able to breath, I couldn’t sleep that night.
I just cried tears of joy – I knew my life had been changed for the better forever. I knew it.

What I was not anticipating was seeing my nose for the first time a few days later.
Again, I did not dare to hope for much improvement aesthetically, but…..WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!
MY NOSE IS GORGEOUS! I seriously still cannot believe it 8 months later.
Never did I ever dream of results this dramatic and beautiful.
I never felt so beautiful. I got my smile back. Like I had been released out of a prison.

I had spoken to so many doctors and I wanted to find that perfect balance of a doctor who was an ENT /understood both breathing and function but… also had a perfectionist artistic eye.
I couldn’t find one who had this balance until I met Dr. Wolf-I’m not sure there are many who are phenomenal at both. I didn’t have to sacrifice either with Dr.Wolf and this alone is what makes him a leader in his field in my opinion.

I also want to mention how incredible the Baptist facility is as well as the Hilton hotel next door where I recovered next day. For someone travelling out of the area, this was a total gamechanger in giving me the security and comfort I needed for a totally smooth pre and post operative experience.

There are very few experiences that deserve a 100%. Dr. Wolf exceeded perfect.
Once in a while people surpass your own limited hopes and remind you miracles are possible.
I am forever indebted to Dr. Wolf, Hayley, Maria, Breazie- his whole team.

I know what it is to see all the wrong doctors and feel no hope in the waiting room or the examination room and cry the whole way home.
I know what it is to read these reviews for months, years… panicked and praying that one will say the exact words in a review that I need to read to get confirmation I am making the right choice.
To feel like I am getting “a sign” this doctor is the one.

I am here to tell you: there is no choice to be made- Dr. Wolf is the one.
