I'm past two weeks since having a CoolSculpting session done on my stomach. They used the small applicator on me ($750). I am naturally thin: 5'9", 130 pounds... but... I had that stubborn belly pouch. Exercise and portion control did nothing for me, so I was excited to try Zeltiq/CoolSculpting. After it was finished (1 hour) I felt initial cramping for about an hour after the procedure... and a couple times over the following days, but nothing really bad at all. I did not even need to take Advil. Some people have written about numbness, but I never had that either. However, my biggest complaint is that my stomach is so bloated that I now look significantly "Bigger" than when I went in for the procedure...! Not happy about this! I've searched a bunch of bulletin boards and no one seems to give a definite answer on when the bloating will go away. My stomach now sticks out noticably with jeans, dresses and skirts. It is about two times bigger than when I went in for the procedure. Not sure I would recommend this to friends. Maybe I will change my mind after two to four months, when they say you see the best results. Two weeks into it, though... I am not a believer yet. Has anyone else had bloating... and for how long?

Update: I'm now a couple days past the first month...

Update: I'm now a couple days past the first month since having Zeltiq done... and I still have really tremendous bloating. I really am twice the size I was in my stomach before having it done. I do not have any pain... just major bloating. I doubt I would do this again. It's a lot of money to take a gamble on... but no guts, no glory. Too bad, I was hoping for better results. From everything I've read, they say by a month into it, any bloating should have resolved and the benefits kick in over the next month. I'm thinking that may not be the case with me.

Great review?

I am 5 weeks post coolsculpting of my upper abs. Like most here, I'm fairly slim but had a bit of a pooch. I'm concerned because my lower abs seem bigger and stick out more than before treatment. This area was NOT treated so im baffled why this would happen. Did the frozen fat migrate ?? I have even been dieting and lost 2 or 3 lbs. my upper abs also seem a bit worse than before treatment but I don't understand why this would effect lower abs. Overall, my belly sticks out more after treatment. I hope this is temporary. I'm really getting worried.
Andj- I am happy to hear this but also very upset. I actually work for a dr who does cool sculpting and went Ahead and did my stomach and side. I am also small 5'3 and 118 but have always had a stomach. At first I was bloated bad for 2 weeks and them it seemed to go down but not after 2 months the bloating started to come back full fold I had it done in feb now being almost may my stomach is 2 it's size. It hangs over my pants and sticks out to the point I look pregnant. I have been dieting and expertise like crazy maybe thinking I hanged weight but it won't go down no matter. I try to pull in my stomach an my muscles pull in and my upper stomach but wear I got the cool sculpting it stays sticking out. I am devastated. I work so hard to be in shape and this has ruined me. My stomach pokes out more than it ever has even when I had gained 30 pounds about 5 years ago my stomach did not look like this. I dot know what to do. I don't know if antiflammitories would help or what I cando to fix this. Have you seen a doctor? Are u still bloated? Is there anyone that knows what I should do? I am so upset....
Just curious as to where you had this procedure done... NH or MA?
AK in NH....well said! I think if you have a beer type gut you might get some results but if you are a small person...it does not do anything.Do not waste your money! I am still very unhappy with how my new "pooch" looks!Didn't have one before!
what!!!!!!!!!!!!
Four months out and my stomach is bigger than ever! I think the cool sculpting ruined me!
I agree with you, andj...!!! Zeltiq/CoolSculpting is a JOKE! I went in for my 3-month check up yesterday. Not only have I seen ZERO results from the procedure... but for about 6 weeks I was even bigger and more bloated. That finally went away, and now I am exactly the same size as when I went in for the first time in August. I beg anyone considering this procedure to SAVE YOUR MONEY! Zeltiq does NOT work! This is a smoke and mirrors marketing hype designed to part consumers and their money. If people want to pay close to $1000 for numbness, tingling/stabbing, tremendous bloating, and after all that to not lose even a single quarter inch around a problem area -- then go ahead and give Zeltiq and your doctor close to $1000 for the pleasure of that. Hindsight is 20/20. I would rather have lit my money with a match or given it to a stranger, than to line the pockets of Zeltiq and doctors who peddle this lie.
Im so scared my stomach wont go back to its original size, much less a smaller size. I would never do this procedure again. I wish I could have been happy w my lil bit of belly fat, because now I look 4 months pregnant. So at this point all I care about is that it goes down. I can't even wear a bikini now. I'm so upset. One of the worst mistakes I ever made. Cost $1400. Confidence and self esteem gone. I had both of those prior to this procedure. I am 5'6 and 124lbs.
I am having the same issue as you and every word on your post sounds like everything I have to say! Before coolsculpting, I had a little pooch but I could always suck it in when I stood up. Now...that whole section is ll flab & there is no way to suck it in! I am so disappointed & feel worse off! You are not alone!

I'm surprised you're still bloated. You may want to ask about this on the Doctor Q&A Forum. It seems abnormal.

Hello_ As everyone is different, I think we all experience something different. When I had mine done I had a fairly significant area. I had swelling, tingling, pains and which honestly, you gotta remember even though this is not under the knife, it is still something significant you are doing to your body, so expect the unexpected. From what I was told, do not use advil. This 'heals" inflamation, which we want to occur. I never used it! I have to say I have noticed a very significant change in my stomach. I had that second "ass" look after having two kids and a c-section, but here I am after two months and I am VERY happy with the results- it has almost diminished and I have full resulst I am toldl in Oct to see full results....Hang in there, your body is getting out the stuff you dont want, course you are going to feel things.....

Another RealSelfer (Carrie Anne) was bloated for three weeks, and BMS had it too but I don't know how long hers lasted. It seems like at two weeks you'll be coming up on the end of it soon. Keep us posted, please! :)
