I met with Dr. Vistnes after having a disastrous Smart Lipo procedure that was performed by a surgeon in San Mateo. The skin on my stomach was left loose, wrinkled, and discolored from what appeared to be burn marks. I was embarrassed to change at the gym or have anyone see my stomach, so I lived hiding it for years. I finally decided to meet with three surgeons so I could have a few second opinions before deciding who would do my repair. A surgeon in Hollywood, who helped repair Tara Reid's stomach years ago, told me I was the worst he had ever seen! All three surgeons, including Dr. Vistnes, agreed that I needed a tummy tuck. But here's why I decided to work with Dr. Vistnes. Dr. Vistnes was extremely professional and never once spoke poorly of the surgeon who did my Smart Lipo procedure (the other two made comments about the botched job). He was very patient with all of my questions and thorough during my examination. He even drew pictures to help explain what happened under my skin and what he could do to help. When we discussed how it would be repaired, he agreed that I needed a tummy tuck. But with Dr. Vistnes, it was evident that he truly had my best interest in mind. He assured me that it was a simple procedure and I only needed to have the loose skin pulled down. Since I didn't need the muscle repair that is typically included with a tummy tuck, he quoted me $10k less than the other surgeons! Although I was already knew that I would have him perform the repair, I asked Dr. Vistnes if I could see some before/after pictures so that I could be even more confident with the decision. All of the tummy tuck scars photos he showed me were very low on the stomach so that they could be hidden easily, and the scars looked clean (I saw many photos from other surgeons where the scars looked jagged and uneven). I was so pleased with his work so I decided to add a breast lift at the same time of the tummy tuck! I couldn't be happier with the final outcome. My tummy tuck scar sits so low that I can wear a low rise bikini bottom and no one knows its there. And the breast lift came out perfect. As for the rest of the team, it's such a pleasure to go to that office. Kat and Geri are very well informed on the procedures so they make the experience even more comfortable. They try to accommodate my crazy schedule in every way they can, and they're always warm and welcoming when I come to the office. The best advice I can give is to meet with a few surgeons prior to meeting with Dr. Vistnes. You'll see why he's different and I promise that you will walk away thrilled with his work.
