Reasons why I sought help

I just wanted to add that the reason I sought to consult with a plastic surgeon was because I had gotten so tired of looking in the mirror for the last few years and seeing jowels like the ones that run in my family, plus my sagging upper eyelids made me appear tired and angry when I wasn't. Both of my parents have had the upper eyelids done but not a facelift so while it is a scary prospect, Dr. A and his team were so good and professional and caring that they made the process as painless as possible. Pro is that I like what I see when I look in the mirror and the only con is that it takes a few months for your face to start coming back to life but at just one month post op, looking back, it has healed remarkably quicker than you would think. Once I get about 3 months post op I will post pictures of before and after.

Even though in 2 days, I will only be 4 weeks post-op, I wanted to go ahead and write a review on Dr. Apostolakis and his staff. He and his staff have been so completely friendly, caring and have answered all of my questions with great patience, while still being professional. I did a lot of research and made a couple of consultation appointments before deciding to go with Dr. A. I went with Dr. A because he was very well educated and studied under and did his residency with highly ranked and world renowned doctors and places. One HUGE reason is that Dr. A specializes in and does nothing but head and neck surgery and that was really important to me that it is his specialty! Another reason is that at one of the other consultations I had gone to before going to Dr. A, the doc told me I needed a brow lift in addition to the blepharoplasty and lower facelift I planned to have done. Then I met with Dr. A and didn't mention what the other doc had recommended but I mentioned I might need one, but when Dr. A examined me he told me that I did not need one and explained why, so I believe he truly only recommends what you truly could use or need, and doesn't just throw everything out at you in the hopes of making more money. I must mention that on the morning of my scheduled surgery, the building's sprinkler system had kicked on and flooded the building. I missed the calls that the staff had made to try to reach me to tell me about the flooding so when I showed up, there were fire trucks and firemen everywhere and they told me the building was shut down! The staff was outside and they were so apologetic about the fact that they would have to reschedule. They could tell I was so very disappointed because not only was I ready to get it done, I had gone to a lot of effort to schedule rides and make arrangements with work and caretakers for after the surgery. So that same day, right around lunch, they called me and said that they could do the surgery after all as the suite was in the back of the building and they were able to use it. So, they went the extra mile to get my surgery done and when I thanked Dr. A that day, he told me that he knew that people put their lives on hold to get these things done and that it was important to me so he really tried to make it happen, and he did! I was so appreciative! He did an amazing job on me and you have to look hard to see where he did the incisions on my eyelids and again, only 4 weeks out and it's been that way for a good while. I'm still healing from the lower facelift as expected and was told that it is a process and you truly do have to be patient for everything to settle in but, if you are going to seek a plastic surgeon to have anything done from the neck up, this is your guy. His reviews from many sources were really high and I believe that he is the man to see for facial plastic surgery because of all of the great reviews, his education, and my gut impression from our consultation. Plus, I had gotten the impression from all of my research, going to the consultation, and also speaking with his staff, that he absolutely strives for NOT leaving you with a "done" look but instead, looking like you are refreshed and younger. I can't make a review without including his staff. They have been fabulous; friendly and caring but still professional. Another thing I noted was that that Dr. A and his staff took me through the entire process of what to expect and even took me through the surgery center where they would perform the surgery. They also provide you with everything you need in a kit and explain everything. Bottom line is that I highly recommend Dr. A because after consulting with other doctors and then meeting with him and interacting with his staff, I could just tell he was the right doc for me. Check him out.

He has been really a pleasure to interact with. As mentioned above, I was really impressed that after another doctor at a previous consultation had recommended I have a brow lift in addition to a blepharoplasty and lower facelift, that when I met with Dr. A, I didn't mention what the other doc recommended but I mentioned I might need a brow lift, and when Dr. A examined me, he told me that I did not need one and explained why, so I believe he truly only recommends what you truly could use or need, and isn't out to make as much money as he can, whether you need it or not. i.e. He has good ethics. Also, after the incident mentioned already about the building having flooded, they had assessed the damage once they were let in to survey the damage, and determined that the suite wasn't really affected so, even though it was a travesty to them, they realized how important it was to me and they worked to make my surgery happen that same day since the surgery suite was not affected. That day when I thanked Dr. A for making it happen, he told me that he knew that people put their lives on hold to get these things done and that it was important to me so he really tried to make it happen, and he did! I really appreciated that since it takes a lot of planning and coordinating prior to surgery day.
