After 2 neurologists, an MRI, CT & ultrasound it appears that I have a compression neuropathy (due to adhesions/scar tissue growth) post neck lift surgery. The plastic surgeon that performed the surgery is not forthcoming. I have a noose-like sensation that started only in the platysmal area on the rt side and is creeping to left. My surgeon insists he did not use permanent or suspension sutures. I am an MD and am appalled at the lack of help. Any advise as the discomfort is now unbearable.
How to treat cobra neck due to over aggressive lipo 10yrs ago. I had a face lift 2 years ago but I was told that due to the scar tissue, that fat couldn't be injected into the hollow. My profile is different on each side due to the uneven lumps on sides of indention. Extra skin bands drive me crazy. Is there anything that can be done?
2 years ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and i had a my entire thyroid removed along with a few hundred lymph nodes. Since the surgery, my jaw and neck shape had changed dramatically and quite frankly i hate it. its my biggest insecurity and i want to know what can be done to fix the shape of my face. i have a lot of what i assume is scar tissue under my neck as it is very hard and stiff unlike fat would be. its like a slanted line straight from my chin to the base of my neck
Photos taken in August 2019. How can the hematoma/scar tissue be eliminated (it is soft tissue). If surgery is needed to remove it, please help me and explain the surgery. My neck is terribly disfigured with hematoma/scar tissue.I will sincerely appreciate your response to my question.
How long will this take to heal? Are steroids along with massage the best path to treatment? I just had surgeon inject steroids into it. He said now it scar tissue.
I noticed today that behind one of my ears, the skin where it has been cut and pulled is bright red like a steak, but only on one side and only near the incisions. Is this part of the bruise? Is this scar tissue? Or is this a sign of infection? I am completely freaking out! Please help!
I had a neck sculpting on September 5th of this year. I went back to my doctor today because I noticed that I am more swollen now than I was 4 weeks ago. My doc said I had developed some scar tissue in my neck, so he injected me with mixture steroids and chemo to break up scar the scar tissue. Then they did some ultra sound at the site. I had never heard of the chemo/steroid mix, what is the success rate for this? Am I apt to keep developing more scar tissue? How long before it will go away?
I'm 33,female, & physically fit. I had a diet & exercise resistant double chin. 27 days ago I got a chin implant with chin and neck liposuction, direct fat excision from behind the platysma muscles & muscle suturing. No lipo was done to the jowls. My dr. is a board certified ENT & facial/neck plastic surgeon with a good rep. As per the pics, I have very visible lumps & creases (no creases prior). I wore the compression garment for 2 weeks straight. Will this resolve? What else can I do to help?
I am 2.5 weeks post-op on a platysmaplasty with submental lipectomy. The first 1.5 weeks everything looked great! At that point, very thick, unsightly scar tissue began to form on my neck right under my chin. It has gotten worse this past week, with puckering and raised indented areas. I have been told this kind of tissue can go away completely on its own. Can it? And what timeline am I looking at, in general? A month? Two years? I feel deformed and severely depressed because of these results.
I had a parathyroidectomy and the scar was longer than planned. All but one parathyroid were removed and almost 2/3 of my thyroid due to finding a Lima bean sized adenoma. The scar has lightened, but seems to be right where one RealSelf doctor pointed out that my platymas had split.
