Treatment for raised, thick acne scars

Acne scars are common in the adult population owing to the prevalence of cystic acne in adolescence. These acne scars can be either crater-like with a central depression, or thickened and raised. Raised acne scars are easier to treat and can best be managed by a combination of acne microsurgery or TAC injection.

Treatment for raised scars

Raised scars in general sometimes are best treated by an old-fashioned dermabrasion. Sometimes CO2 laser resurfacing is a better option, and sometimes excision and Kenalog injection work well. Talk to your doctor about it.
