Implant after 20 years of a three unit dental bridge?

Asked By:lostindc in Washington, DC

How difficult is it to have an implant placed (#8 tooth) if there has been a three unit bridge in place for 20 years? What type of bone grafting can be expected (lets assume much vertical and horizontal bone loss) and can all the bone grafting be done in just one surgery? I only need to replace tooth #8 and I cannot find much information on replacing a long term bridge with an implant, thanks!
