try, 1 year to bring that canine down, at least, if not, extraction, of canine, and setting of bone grafting, and implant, and you will restore that area ,for sure, do not try to put a crown over that baby tooth, would not work,and it will be a failure,sooner or later,

if you do not want to wait a long time, then choose, the extraction, and bone grafting,and implant, this would be a great solution, and it takes up to 3 months, to have all that area restored.

Alot of questions and difficult to answer without exam and records. Ususlly we don't recommend a crown on an over retained baby tooth due to poor long term prognosis however the appearance should be fine, In most cases we try to keep the permanent tooth and 4 yrs seems to be alot of time to bring it down... After 27 years of practicing dentistry I have realized bringing impacted canines into the right position is very important for long term stability. It may seem like 4 years is a terribly long time but it definitely would be worth it. the concern about making the baby canine look like a real one is that that will eventually fail and will result in the other teeth being in a less favorable position.
