I had a septo/rhinoplasty & bone spur removal 5 weeks ago. The procedure ended up being more involved due to the bone spur. The surgery took 5 hours. My surgeon ended up having to do more work on the right side due to the spur. Five weeks later I am still swollen (especially on the right side) and getting stabbing and pulling pains in my nose and face. Does this sound right for the amount of work that was done? I see my surgeon in another week for follow-up, but wanted some thoughts.

After a rhinoplasty, especially when the nasal septum is straightened, splints are often place in the nose to hold the internal structures in place for a period of time while healing. The splints have ports or tubes to enable you to breathe through your nose while the splints are in place.
It sounds like you think the outer nostril rim near the lip lies to low. Your posted photos do not support that premise. They show notching of the nostril rims (left more than right) where the alar groove meets the nostril rim. That notching can be corrected by swinging the tip cartilages...
Great posted photos showing poor done lateral nasal bone in fracture and position. Plus over resection of the upper lateral alar cartilages. Repair needs to be done after 3 or 4 months by in fracture position of nasal bones + cartilage spreader grafts for the other issue. Best of luck. Follow up...
