Purple Eyelids After Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty

Three and a half weeks after upper and lower eyelid surgery my upper lids are still deep purple with very visible thread veins. Do you think these will disappear? My surgeon does not seem very concerned.

Blepharoplasty should not change the skin tone and texture

Blepharoplasty should not change the skin tone and texture so if you’re having purplish eyelids that you didn’t have before they should return to your normal skin tone & texture after the bruising and swelling goes away. Sometimes this can take months particularly if you are predisposed to swelling of the lids.

Purple eyelids after upper and lower blepharoplasty

We are at a bit of a disadvantage as you did not enclose a photo.  Also we don't know what happened in the surgery.  Did you have bleeding, hypertension, or ingestion of blood thinning items? ,(i.e.; ibuprofen, aspirin, vit. A, vit E, ginkgo, etc;).   All that said, patients can have bruising and bleeding for weeks after this type of surgery.  If you did not have these skin issues before surgery, they should eventually fade.  Always best to speak... more
