Preoperative examinations in our office is actually the second appointment after the initial consultation. During the initial consult your health history is reviewed, a thorough exam in performed and pros/cons of the particular procedure are reviewed. This leads to the decision if someone is a good candidate for aesthetic surgery.
The preoperative exam is the office prior to surgery and involves review of the nature of the procedure, pros/cons and obtaining lab work.

You will then have a discussion with your surgeon about what options are available and if you are a good surgical candidate. You will likely be given a estimate for the procedures and any information regarding medical clearance for the surgery. We then have you return to the office prior to the procedure to take pre-operative photos, review the consents and discuss and lingering questions that you have about the procedure.
