You should wait until you have stopped draining and then wait until a week has passed to go for a gentle swim in cool water. But first, get clearance from your surgeon.

Your question is the time before you can swim. HUMMM best to ask your surgeon of record. In my patient I allow light activity, even swimming, at 4 to 5 days. BUT that is in my patients.
