Perlane v restylane

Shawn Allen, MD answers: Perlane vs. Restylane, what's the difference?

Before i get to the doctors office for my next appointment i want to know why a company called medicis is selling 2 products called "perlane" and "restylane" even though they are the same ingredients according to the website?  i want to get fuller lips and hide wrinkles.  Which injection, restylane or perlane, do I ask for?

Think of them as starting from the same jello like substance and then pushing that jello through a strainer. If you use a pasta strainer then you get perlane. If you use a sifter for powdered sugar you get restylane. Forgive the food analogy but this seems to make sense to eveyone. As to what is best used in which location will depend on your skin thickness and type. A dermatologist with experience with fillers will be able to help you decide. Good luck
