I am a dark skin woman who has black scabs from glycolic peel and microderm treatment on my cheek. I was told to use aloe and keep it moisturized also stay away from sunlight. I also was told an enzyme mask or microderm with very low suction would help get rid of the scabs is this true? And I should add a week before this treatment I had a 20% salicylic which I did fine with. I am also worried about hypopigmentation . Thanks

Answer: Chemical Peel Results
Jason Emer, MDDermatologic Surgeon, Board Certified in Dermatology
I am so sorry this happened to you. My suggestion is you see a cosmetic dermatologist immediately to get proper post procedural wound care to prevent scarring and skin pigmentation. Best, Dr. Emer.
Rather than a chemical peel, you may want to use a milder daily peel such as Melapads, which contain glycolic and salicylic acid in addition to kojic acid. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
