How long does artefill last?

The company has some data that shows lasting results up to 5 years. Patients often hear this and get really excited thinking they will not need filler for 5 years! This just isn't the case. Even if all the Artefill (now called Bellafill) remained, the patient will continue to age and lose additional volume. Also, only 20% of the product is the PMMA portion (the portion that is permanent). All that said Bellafill does last longer than the other fillers on the market. Be well, Dr. M

This is a good question.
The formal studies are now out 5 years and soon there will be a longer
term study released. The results show
that there is no loss of volume over this time.
The beauty of Artefill is that is really promotes development of your
own tissue. Therefore, while you may age
and continue to lose volume your Artefill should be still working years from
now since it is your own tissue that is filling the area that was initially
