I had a breast lift/augmentation at the same time as my lipo. I went for my first post-op yesterday. Breasts seem to be healing well. I am very bruised and swollen from the lipo. I feel okay, but the tearing feeling seems worse today.

Is tearing pain after liposuction normal?

The feelings you are having are  basically the healing process after liposuction and is a pain pattern that is common. This should be relieved with recovery time but if it persists or get worse let you surgeon know and check you.  Every paerson s pai n patterns differ as does perception.  As long as you are not running a fever and fell a little better each day you are likely peogressing normally.   Good Luck

Feeling of tearing sensation following liposuction and breast reduction

I am not certain if you are describing the tearing feeling in your breasts or the liposuction treated areas. IF it is involving the former, I would discuss with your surgeon to ensure that your incisions are intact. If it is the latter, it may be due to fluid shifts or areas of adhesion.

Pain after liposuction

You didn't mention which area(s) underwent liposuction. Although most people do not feel excessive pain after liposuction, some people may feel stinging or sharp pain, but most describe it as just being sore or very sore. It goes away gradually over weeks. It would be best to call your doctor and be seen to be sure there is no complication and in this way you can be reassured, or have a possible complication treated.

Liposuction and tearing feeling

You may be experiencing some adherence of the soft tissue to the overlying skin during this early post-op period.  Weird sensations can occur during the first few weeks of healing. If concerned then call your doctor.

No a "tearing" feeling is not the norm. Re consult your surgeon to see what he did or what is happening to you. From MIAMI Dr. Darryl J. Blinski

Lipsuction Recovery

Many patients often feel moderate discomfort after liposuction and this is especially true as your levels of activity increase.  As the discomfort and swelling decrease you will note that many of these feeling subside.  You will likely be instructed to start messaging these areas as this helps to soften the areas and improves overall comfort.

Recovery from lipo

You just had surgery, so it is expected that you go through a recovery phase.  Some people do quite well and other have some discomfort.  Some have a lot of swelling while others have less.  At this point, hang in there.  You should get better day by day.  If there is any concern, you should visit your surgeon soon rather than later.   Good Luck.

This can be normal however...

Hi Gcarter You had a significant surgery and much goes into healing this.  The tearing sensation can be post-procedure pain that is normal.  However, both you and your surgeon put a great deal of effort into your surgery.  I strongly recommend that you let your surgeon know about what you are experiencing so you can be examined and appropriately reassured.
