Try under eye creams for lingering Juvederm discoloration

Arnold R. Oppenheim, MD answers: How do I get rid of the bluish tint that Juvederm left under my eyes?

I was injected with so much Juvederm under my eyes that I could barely see out of my left eye. I got 5 hyaluronidase treatments and have been left with dark circles and small bags under my eyes. I just want to be normal again. Do you think I should get another treatment? It is better but not back to normal! Please advise.

Agree with the suggestions above. The blue discoloration is secondary to the Tyndall effect (light scattered back by the particles of Juvederm). Patience is the answer here. I would wait for awhile and then if there is still a bluish color retreat with hyalurnidase. If what is present is dark discoloration or puffiness, and the blue is absent, try one of the many excellent under eye creams available: Revale is the one I prefer, but Replenix, Teamine Eye Complex, and Oil of Olay's Definity are all exceptional products.

Also, next time eat pineapple before your injections. The bromolein in it helps prevent bruising.

I note Dr. Freund's suggestion that next time you consider fat transfer. This is a worthy idea. However, I would caution you to chose your plastic surgeon carefully. Friday, I performed filler injections and Botox on a lady with large lumps under her eyes. She informed me that they were from fat injections done by a plastic surgeon whom I had always regarded as quite competent.

Good luck and I hope this answer has helped.
