Breast reduction surgery will maintain fullness and create lift.

David A. Dreyfuss, MD answers: After breast reduction will my breasts remain full?

I am due to get a breast reduction in a short while, I am just waiting for my insurance company's approval, which my doctor said will not be a problem due to the size of my breasts.

My concern is that right now my breasts are very full and I love that part about them... Is there a way that they can be reduced to a smaller size and remain full?

When you say fullness, I assume you mean the roundness of your breast.  This can easily be part of the final result if the doctor understands your desire and expectation.  The reduction will reduce the total volume of your breast, but also places the remaining tissue in a smaller skin envelope.  This lifts the breast and creates a smaller, full breast in a better aesthetic position.  The ultimate goal is to create a natural breast that matches your body and reduce the pain associated with the large breasts.

Make sure you see the pre and post op photos from the doctor.  Discuss with him your concern about fullness so you both have the same expectation.  Don't have surgery if you both are not on the same page.  Any realistic Board Certified Plastic Surgeon should be able to discuss these issues and give you an understanding of your final result
