Lancaster, Pennsylvania Embezzler Buys Herself Breast Implants
Real Beauty News on Sep 22, 2008

When you show up for work at a plant nursery in a Mercedes with a nice new pair of breast implants, do people wonder where got the money to afford such a surgery? Take the case of Juanita M. Piechowski of Lititz, Pennsylvania, who embezzled over 600 thousand dollars from her employer, Creek Hill Nursery. Juanita, who was also having an affair with the boss, used the money to buy cars, jewelry and breast implants.

The story of Ms. Piechowski was documented in a news piece detailing the dramatic rise in embezzlement and internal workplace theft taking place in Pennsylvania.  Some speculate that difficult economic times drive people to desperate measures, but realistically speaking, a woman that desperate for breast implants is pretty absurd.

The more likely explanation is that companies have tightened their budget and begun analyzing their performance more closely. In doing so, they are revealing employee theft schemes, hence the rise in reported incidents.

Lancaster Online reports that Ms. Piechowski has been sentenced to 7-1/2 to 19 months in county jail and ordered to pay restitution.
