Utah Dermatologist and Staff In Fatal Plane Crash

Utah Dermatologist and Staff In Fatal Plane Crash
Real Beauty News on Aug 25, 2008

A Utah dermatologist and his staff from Red Canyon Aesthetics & Medical Spa, whose headquarters are in Cedar City Utah, were on a twin engine plane that crashed Friday, killing all ten people on board.

The director, Dr. Lansing Ellsworth, had recently launched a monthly dermatology clinic in Moab, offering skin cancer screenings and other dermatology work. Other victims of the crash included clinic workers (two of them students of Southern Utah University) and the pilot.

The company has 7 clinics in Utah, 2 in Nevada and one in Arizona.

According to officials from the crash site, the plane was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene. Lt. Steve White commented to KCYN, a local radio station, that the plane most likely "pancaked and skidded along the ground" at a crash site just 2 miles from Canyonlands Field airport.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, and investigators face difficulty with the lack of eyewitnesses and no documented flight plan for the trip. The NTSB and FAA investigators have finished documenting the wreckage but further investigations could take more than a year to complete.

A blog has been started to remember the victims and give people an outlet to offer their condolences. It can be found at www.cedarcondolences.blogspot.com
