Body Wraps Do Improve Cellulite Temporarily
Austin television doctor David Di Paolo recently appeared on KLTV's "Fitness Over 40" to debunk the myths about body wraps for cellulite. Cellulite is an extremely common problem, affecting up to 95 percent of women.
Dr. Di Paolo reminds us that cellulite is "orange peel skin" that develops in the lower body, consisting of "pockets of fat that protrude between layers of connective tissue underneath the skin surface." There are various treatments out there that may or may not be the solution women are seeking. So which cellulite products are legit?
Mack Steward, M.D. of Pure Radiance Laser Retreat, a medical spa in Tyler, says that although many new body-wraps on the market claim to shrink cellulite by inches, in reality, these treatments will only be temporarily effective. That's fine if it's all you need for the time being. According to Dr. Stewart, the least effective cellulite treatment is topical cream.
Radiofrequency treatments that heat tissue beneath the skin can be more effective for the long term. So is healthy eating and rigorous exercise.
