Restylane for Lips Without Removing Cupid's Bow?

I'm 29 years old and I'm noticing some fine lines in the nasalobial region which I'm not taking kindly to. It's not enough to warrant a whole syringe of Restylane as they're quite minimal. I'm also interested in popping the remainder into my lips. Is there a way to go about the lip augmentation without obliterating the cupid's bow and actually looking natural and not artificial?

A: Restylane for lips is an art.

Hi Angie - Restylane can be used effectively for lip enhancement to erase fine lines and also to add volume.  Adding a small amount to the philtrum (the ridges that lead up to the nose) can help preserve cupid's bow and a natural appearance.  Hope this helps.

How Safe is It to Use Restylane Between the Eyebrows?

Could Restylane affect vision or cause a reaction or swelling in the eyelids?

A: Restylane is safe between the eyebrows

Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are safe for use in many areas of the face, including between the eyebrows.  Combining this with Botox or Dysport for relaxation of the muscles is a great way to treat deeper lines in the glabella (the area between the nose and forehead).

Is Swelling/my Smile Looking Weird Normal After Perlane/restylane in Mid-cheek/NSF Normal?

I got one syringe of perlane placed mid-cheek yesterday&one syringe of restylane for my NSF. Today, my face looks puffy&my smile looks unnatural/I can't smile as wide. My goal was to have such a subtle injection that no one but me would notice a different, which was how the doctor reassured me I'd look. I left yesterday liking how I looked. I woke up today and have found that the smile's all wrong&I'm way more swollen than immediately after injection. I feel ugly nothing like myself. Normal?

A: One day after filler is too soon to tell

Often, but not always, there is some increased swelling in the areas treated by hyaluronic acid fillers such as Perlane, Restylane, and Juvederm.  These fillers work by attracting water into the filled areas.  If you were happy with the immediate post-injection results, you will most likely be happy with the long term results as well.  See your treating physician if there are any more concerns.
