Fraxel Laser (Which Type)? Thermage Or a 'Feather-lift'?

I'm 37 years old - in great shape, and overall, I have very good skin, both texture and tone, and no wrinkles, however, I'm noticing some jowling on my jaw-line that is really bothering me. I want to get the tight jaw-line back that I had in my twenties. I'm considering all 3 of the above possibilities. I know I'm young for a surgical lift, but, I'll consider that route if it's my best option. How much can Fraxel or Thermage really do for tightening of the jaw-line?

A: Facial Rejuvenation for early aging: Fraxel, Accent, Thermage, Radiesse, Sculptra

I am a dermatologist and 41 years old.  Personally, I have had Thermage to help combat the same issue.  It is a great treatment to help be proactive and keep our collagen firm, thus minimizing the jowls.  Accent is similar to Thermage but requires more treatment though less painful, cost is the same.  Radiesse and Sculptra are both great fillers to help restore any volume in the cheeks so the jowls improve as well as filling in around the jowls if needed.  If you have our usual Texas sun spots, you might consider 1-2 treatments with Fraxel Restore.

Good luck!  We'd be happy to treat you if you are up for a road trip to the DFW area.  We are 5 minutes from DFW airport.

Fraxel Laser Increased Collagen in the Lips?

The doctor went over my lips by accident with Fraxel Laser (Restore), and now my lips are so swollen it won't go down. Could that have increased the fat that was injected in my lips through fat transfer since it builds collagen? Will the swelling go down?

A: Likely swollen just from trauma

The lips swell a lot when the are exposed to laser and other resurfacing treatments.  I don't know how far out from surgery you are, but your swelling should go down within days of the procedure.  You may also ask for oral steroids (medrol) to expedite.

Fraxel an Option Instead of Facelift?

If I don't want to do a Facelift; is the Fraxel laser a good option?

A: No, not at all

Fraxel will do some minor skin resurfacing which will reduce mainly sun damage (fine lines and wrinkles, some blotchness perhaps, reduce thickened skin, smooth the surface).

A face lift will tighten the skin, smooth the wrinkles due to sagging (not sun damage), and will also remove excess skin while raising and tightening muscles and fat pads. Liposuction is usually performed at the same time as an adjunct.

So be clear. mild skin resurfacing-Fraxel

Face lift with moer powerful rejuvenation, face lift.
