Does Amount of Fat Removed Affect the Recovery Period After Smart Lipo?

I am planning on getting rid of some extra fat that diet and exercise failed to remove, I don't have much. The procedure will be done on upper/lower abdomen, waist and back. I saw a lot of reviews where it states that the recovery time can take up to 8 months, and quite painful. Does it depend on the amount of fat removed? If I get my procedure done in April, would I be able to wear 2 piece bathing suite, lets say in July, or will I still have visible swelling and bruising? Thanks

A: recovery after lipo pretty unusual to see bruising hang around more than 10 days or 2 weeks. even though there is still swelling and you certainly are not at your very best most people see the majority of the results at the end of a month or so. yes this process is definitely volume related. sounds like you are on the smaller side and you should do fine. most people don't appreciate the fact that you must use a regular cannula at the end. the laser will meltthe fat but you cannot leave a puddle of that stuff hanging around. it is that final removal part that causes bruises

I Want to Get Smartlipo Triplex but Prefer General Anesthetic Instead of Local, Can I?

I have high blood pressure when I get nervous so im going to get really nervous with local anesthetic, can I tell the dr. to perform the smartlipo triplex on my tummy and double chin with general anesthetic instead, so I can be fully asleep and not feel any stabbing pains? Because I heard you even feel pain when theyre injecting you the local on all areas.

A: smartlipo and anesthesia sure. Why not. we offer both in our surgicenter. instead of full general anesthesia most surgeons will offer twilight sleep. the other name for this would be intravenous sedation. the only time I suggest true local is for 1 or 2 small areas. most patients will opt for the intravenous sedation as it is so safe and easy.

Getting Smart Lipo In One Week For Saddlebags, Worried Fat Will Come Back In New Places Following Procedure. Can It?

I am 44 yrs old 5'5" , 126 lbs, weight is stable and I work out 3x wk. I have terrible saddlebags, have had them all my life, even as a teen. I have had enough of limited wardrobe options and being self conscious. I am sched for smartlipo next wk. I am very small and toned on top, a complete mismatch to my bottom, and am terrified of ruining what I like about myself. Reading this site in see many talk of weight gain in odd places, is this mostly for those using lipo for weight or shud I worry?

A: smartlipo sure you can gain weight elsewhere but ONLY if you gain weight. in other words if you eat enough to gain it has to go somewhere but you will not grow new areas unless you simply take in more than you burn up. sounds like you will do well.
