It has been 4 month now since I was injected with radiesse along the folds on side of mouth. Next day I noticed a lump but thought it was just swelling but it is still there. It's about an inch long and look like where the radiesse should have stopped on side of nostril traveled up all the way to top of my nose by inner eye. I can feel something there and you can see it buldging out. I went back to the doctor and he never heard of such a thing happening and had no idea what it was.
It is possible to note a bulge or lump after treatment with any injectable filler including Radiesse. I usually counsel my patients to massage any area where they note a lump. The massage is most effective the first few days/weeks after the injections but may still be helpful in your case. Although it is a rare condition, granulomas can form following treatment with injectable fillers. Check back with your doctor if the lump persists.
I am 35 and am getting a jowl. I had planned to get Radiesse for the jowl and nasolabial lines - 1 vial recco. I also have a slight bump on my nose that I'd like to try to feather out with some filler. I have used juvaderm ultra for the smile lines before (1 syringe split) and have never had the jowl or nose done. I am a little concerned that Radiesse is prone to lumps? Would I be better off using juvaderm ultra plus? I think radiesse is more cost effective though?
Either Radiesse or Juvederm Ultra Plus could be used for the areas that you have described. Radiesse has the advantage of lasting longer and therefore is probably more cost effective in the long run. Juvederm's advantage is that it can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase if you don't like the result. Lumpiness is possible with any injectable filler but is not a common problem. Many of my patients start their treatments with a hyaluronic acid filler such as Juvederm and later transition to the longer acting Radiesse with good results.
I've had Radiesse treatment to enhance my cheekbones three days ago. Yesterday I started to experience mild pain on the right side where the Radiesse was injected. I have no redness, allthough I think that my right cheekbone feels a little warmer than my left cheekbone. I also experience a strange sensation in my right ear (kind of a mild pressure). It feels like a muscle is blocked. My doctor sais that it could not be a muscle or nerve, as she used a canule for the injection. What could I do?
It is not unusual to experience some discomfort or odd sensations the first few days after Radiesse injections and this discomfort may be more prevalent on one side. However, if these sensations increase or if you develope redness, increased swelling or fever this could be signs of an infection, you should then check back with your doctor.
