The swelling and discomforts eased quickly

Prospective patients who are still on the fence, read on :) After years of avoiding mirrors and window reflections, I finally decided to find out whether someone my age (77) could have her face improved a bit-- mainly I wanted to be rid of my turkey neck! So I snooped around online, found Dr Roy, and called to request an appointment. They set me up right away, and my sister-in-law came along...

Amazing results - the scars have almost disappeared after 6 months

When I first went in for my consultation I asked Dr. Roy if I should do more than a facelift. He said, "No, you don't need to do any more". Thank you for being so honest! It's been 6 months and the scars have almost disappeared. I am so pleased with the results. I was talking to another plastic surgeon who was not double board certified. I am so glad I decided to go with Dr. Roy!!! Maybe it...

6 weeks post-op lower eyelid surgery & loving my bagless face

After consulting with 3 previous plastic surgeons over the course of 4 years, I finally found Dr. Roy. The consultation I had with him was hands down the most thorough and informative. Dr. Roy was easy to talk to and listened well. Because of his knowledge, education, experience and personality, I made the decision to have my under eye bags removed (my bags had bothered me for decades). ...

Outstanding from start to finish - looking forward to the results

Before the day: Excellent 30 min consultation with Dr. Roy. He went through all my questions and made me feel at ease. Jill, who I spoke to about scheduling and billing was also a pleasure to talk to. Day of: Despite an early 7:15 AM reporting time, Dr. Roy was already waiting for me when I arrived. As were the technicians for the procedure, a wonderful mother-daughter duo from Los Angeles....

The outcome of the surgery was exactly what I wanted

Dr. Roy and his staff were amazing. Dr. Roy has the best bedside manner I have ever encountered. I researched many doctors before choosing to go to Dr. Roy and I know I made the right decision. He made me feel comfortable through the whole process and the outcome of the surgery was exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Dr. Roy.

Q: Laser genesis burn help. How do I care for this? (photos)
Answered by Dr. SwengelFebruary 21, 2019

A: Hello, thank you for your question and your pictures. Without seeing your skin in person it is hard to say if you will scar. It is normal and typical that if you are treating a spider vein or any vascular lesion that it becomes darker and sometimes scab. This is the only way for it to be injured and for it to go away. Sometimes after these treatments patients are left with a pink scar that will slowly fade away within the coming weeks. I would suggest you keep an open line of communication with your provider and maybe they can suggest products to help the area heal faster and promote better skin rebuild. Hope this help, regards Dr. S.

Q: Can you have Botox if you have recently had a tetanus injection?
Answered by Dr. SwengelFebruary 21, 2019

A: Hello, thank you for your question. There is no contraindication of having a tetanus injection and Botox treatment close together. Hope this helps, Dr. S.

Q: Is it safe to thread my eyebrows 5 days after having Botox?
Answered by Dr. SwengelFebruary 21, 2019

A: Hello, thank you for your question. There would be no problem to have your eyebrows threaded 5 days after you receive a Botox treatment. Botox was injected directly in the muscles that will be relaxed and having your eyebrows done will not affect this. Regards, Dr. S.

Q: What would be the best technique to remove a mole from the vermilion border of my lip? (photos)
Answered by Dr. RoyJanuary 22, 2019

A: Hi and thank you for this great question! I agree with the physicians who have posted before me in that you have a few options, specifically a shave excision or full thickness excision. A shave excision, although better from a scarring standpoint, does not definitively remove the mole and recurrence is possible. Over what period of time that happens in variable. A full-thickness excision involves an elliptical excision of tissue centered around the mole. I can understand why you're worried about scarring given the location of the mole but it is fairly small and I have had great success with vertical excision that incorporate both cutaneous (skin) and red lip, as long as great effort is made to align the vermillion border properly. An experienced facial surgeon should be able to offer both procedures and discuss pros and cons with you. Hope that helped! Best, Dr. Roy

Q: Can Dysport be reversed or dissolved by some kind of injections?
Answered by Dr. SwengelSeptember 20, 2018

A: Hello, thank you for your question. I am very sorry that his is happening to you. There unfortunately is not any enzyme, solution or injectable that can be used to reverse the effects of Dysport. As you probably know, Dysport works as a medicine on the muscles of your face. The effects of that medicine last 3-4 months, but sometimes they may last less time. If you are experiencing all these symptoms I would recommend you visit your primary doctor and get an evaluation and some work-up. Hope this helps, good luck to you, Dr. S.
