hi, almost 3 months ago I had my otoplasty done and for some time now I have been dissatisfied with how the right ear stuck out. Got my antelix fold fixed but seems like the right one has gone out a bit. firstly, what do you think and can this be fixed with some minor surgery. can't bear to think about my ears anymore...
Ive been massaging and using silicone gel for almost 2 months. Should I be concerned? The bottom of both my ears seems elongated and have puckering left ear only. My plastic surgeon has been attentive and suggests I may need a scar revision. Seeking any thoughts or suggestions.
I had an otoplasty 3 months ago and am disappointed with the result. I didnt want my ears flat to my head but just feel like my ears still stick out at the top and arent massively different to before. Id like an objective opinion really, am I being unreasonable and did I expect too much? In hindsight I wouldve asked he surgeon what approximate distance my ears would be from my head after the surgery. Perhaps if I had I couldve managed my expectations.
It's been 3 months after I got an otoplasty procedure. I was wondering if these little bumps (where the dissolvable suture was) will go away? If not, is it safe for me to get my ears pierced so that I could cover these bumps? Thank you
I had otoplasty procedure done a little over 3 months ago. I wore my headband for 6 weeks all day and night. Removed only for showers. I don't know if these bumps are from the permanent sutures or the dissolvable sutures that took so long for them to fall off? There were still small pieces sticking out at 8 weeks. Have they healed well so far? My ears don't hurt anymore if I bump them lightly. I have no discomfort or itchiness.
HI!.I had an otoplasty on my left ear three months ago because it used to stick out more than my right one. However now i notice that my left ear is also higher than my right one.Could this be due bad otoplasty, some kind of trauma(i got hit by a bottle of water 2 weeks post op but i didn't notice anything conserning. My doctor also confirmed that no damage had occurred)or was it like that the whole time and i never noticed? What kind of surgery can i have to aligne it with my right ear.Thanks.
I had an otoplasty almost 3 months ago in which cartilage was removed and permenant sutures were used. I went to see my doctor last week regarding my protruding earlobes as he did not pin them back the procedure, but he insisted that they looked fine and was hesitant to work on them and told me to wait another 3 months then I could have them done. He said it's a simple procedure but my ears won't look normal if I do it and said something about excess skin that will be visible. Is that true?
I've always had an outward curvature from mid ear up making me feel like I had satellite dishes on the sides of my head. I explained the result I wanted in the consultation when I put both of my forefingers to the tops of each ear stating I wanted them to go in at the top or at the very least go straight up and down. The left one is slightly improved but still curves out. The right looks like Yoda ear and is flattened and crunched up at the antihelix that's lost it's normal curvature.
the surgeon had put in dissolving stitches the first time. He re-did the procedure about 8 months later and used permanent stitches. He did not remove any cartilage either time. The ears are slipping back towards original appearance, at the tops, in the last couple months. The left ear is back out where it was at the top before surgery. Right ear has slipped out about 1/16 inch. left ear cartilage is much stiffer than right ear. What should i do? this was and is important to me
