The patients are usually younger, although not always. These are patients who have specific areas of concern, are generally healthy and with those specific areas that they're concerned about, a specific tailored treatment plan can often guide them as to what to do next. It really varies quite a bit. The minimum age really depends on how much growth of nose a patient has had and how mature that growth has been. There's no specific age but as long as a patient and their family understand the expectations and the limits of what a rhinoplasty can offer, then age in itself is not a specific contraindication.

Usually in the later teen years is what we have seen and it's usually at that age point when we notice that patients are having changes and their nose growing. It is usually when we start to talk with them and their families about a possible procedure. What makes an attractive nose is the patient's gender, male or female, sometimes their ethnic background, what specific goals they have, certainly how they feel they fit with their family sometimes, but there are some characteristics that patients like to see with their noses. Really just understanding what each patient wants is really a key to having a successful rhinoplasty procedure.
