This is Dr. Michael Bowman. I'd like to speak today about rejuvenation of the tear trough, the area underneath the eye, which causes the eye to look a little bit more old and tired looking. The key to rejuvenating this area is the use of cannulas. You can see the cannula in the middle of the slide there. It's blunt tipped and causes a lot less swelling and bruising than you see with the needles which is on the right. You can see here really the dramatic improvements that we can get with Restylane, which is the preferred product for using this tear trough area here.

We're going to watch now a treatment with Restylane on our model here. Anything other than the little ice on the cheek is not necessary, although you might think otherwise. The use of the cannula really makes this a near painless procedure along with the fact that Restylane has some lidocaine mixed up inside it.

This whole video will... Treatment for this eye will run continuously. Although we will speed the video up here in a minute, so you don't have to watch it at regular speed. But, generally speaking, treatment of both eyes takes about anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes kind of depending on the individual's anatomy and what's going on with their facial needs.

As mentioned above, the cannula is the key to this technique in terms of reducing swelling and bruising. As you noticed, the video has sped up. I don't move quite that fast, but you can see that the treatment is not uncomfortable and is very straightforward. Afterwards, you want to make sure you don't do too much massaging of the area. I will do a little bit to help sculpt the product into perfect position but afterwards, we don't want to displace the product anymore.

We just finished up the treatment for that right eye. You can see the immediate results here, and here are our two-week results. So, thank you and I hope I'll see you soon. Bye.
