I developed an abscess after an IV a few years ago, had surgery for the abscess, but now the scar tissue presents a challenge whenever I go to the hospital for a procedure or an emergency. Could it be possibly removed, and would doing so help me out?
I got a staph cellulitis infection above my eyebrow last year from something random I touched. It created an abscess that opened up and layers of skin came off. After antibiotics the abcess scabed over and then once the scabed came off I was left with this very noticeable indented scar. I have medium to darker skin (Indian decent), so is laser treatment an possible? Collagen injections/fillers? Or a surgical excision the best option?
I got an abscess in my bottom lip after lip filler. It was not my doctors fault, I just developed herpes which turned into an abscess. It was 8 weeks ago but on one side my lip is still swollen. I think its scar tissue. At first the lump was very hard but it got smooth over time. Im scared it will stay forever, is a scar revision possible?
I had a bbl done 2 years ago. I fell while healing and caused an abscess. After several antibiotics, steroid shots, and the abscess breaking my skin to self drain. I have a soft and dark dark scar on my cheek. Can this type of scar be removed by excision. If so what type of surgeon should I inquire with? Or what are my other options?
I have a history of drug abuse and my biggest concern, aside from recovery, is how scarred my arms got, above the forearms, all the way to my biceps. And I have mixed scarring, some from bad abscesses from recurring injections and lack of proper sterilization (the last one from about 3 months ago and the oldest from 3 years ago.) Nowadays I have a really hard time showing my arms, and I think it even affects my recovery process. What are my options, regardless of cost?
I'm looking for a treatment to prevent further scars and aid the pain. When I have a break out it usually only one in my lower groin area, and one at a time. I'm feeling hopeless at this point seeing how bad it can get.
3 and a half weeks ago, I had an abscess on my chin caused by cellulitis. I took antibiotics and the doctor laced and drained it. The cellulitis is gone and the area is no longer inflamed. I am now left with a hard and painless lump. It is like an acne cyst but it isn't inflamed. It is not large but I still want to minimize it. Should I massage it and/or use silicone sheets? Should I do nothing and let it resolve on its own?
